  1. That was Mack's job the first time through Wpg. and his reputation as a talent scout gained in that time earned him the GM position the second time through.
  2. The Bombers need to have the capability of handling $400,000 plus in their QB budget for their starter anyways, even if they are unwilling to give it to Nichols. The next "savior" to rise is going to eventually demand this type of money. Within the salary structure of the league they can't go shopping for an elite QB with $325,000 in their pockets.
  3. You make a good point about Glenn, I think he would work very well in LaPo's system as well, still I wouldn't feel confident going with him as the starter for next season. As you said he's the perfect backup. Going with Durant would be okay for one or two season if Davis is indeed the "future" and he is given the opportunity to prove that in real game action.
  4. Avoid playing hockey and shoveling snow once you pass 50, no good will come from either activity.
  5. I think you have to preface this conversation with "thanks for saving our asses Matt, unfortunately...."

  7. God, they could grab Thorpe for nothing and now they don't want him?
  8. If Glenn decides to move on I wouldn't mind having Lefevour as a backup to Nichols. If Nichols went down I think Lefevour could post a .500 record behind a solid O-line which is decent expectations for a backup. He might add some diversity as a red-zone QB as well, did I mention that he runs like a bull?
  9. It took Walters awhile to ditch Burke as well, it wasn't announced immediately after the last game of the season, even though everyone pretty much knew it was going to happen.
  10. Happy to see the Riders rebuild is right on track. @TSN_Sports Former @sskroughriders, @Ticats DE Eric Norwood announces retirement. MORE: http://www.tsn.ca/1.624935
  11. Possibility, the Bombers may not want to tie their long-term fortunes to this guy in case he bolts after their fifth consecutive G.C. victory.
  12. Better known as "Manuel" the skittish waiter.
  13. This game is worthy of re-watching.
  14. A quart of rye washed back with a 1/2 cup of ammonia will be needed to erase this mental image from my lobe. Thanks.
  15. All the more reason to be careful where they are selected in the draft. A high pick like Richards is proof enough that it doesn't always work out as planned.
  16. Giguere has also re-established himself as a decent receiver with the Als.
  17. Now that Dave "Sticky" Stala is gone I can't think of any.
  18. Below is a Toronto-centric article written by Dave Bidini that suggests what the CFL needs to do to appeal to football fans in their great city. It's pretty silly. http://www.cbc.ca/news/opinion/cfl-changes-1.3867744
  19. I think he just came in for a look-see.
  20. Duncan was on their P.R. at the end of the season.
  21. No, they can pay each PR player whatever they choose to above the minimum. If they were pursuing Bennett for a few years previously they may have had to make him a few financial promises to convince him to come up to the CFL in the first place. If he was just an unknown scrub that caught on at a try-out camp that would be a different matter.
  22. Speculators R Us.
  23. Another possibility is that Bennett was let go to help out with the salary cap. A young-gun QB is probably making decent coin even while sitting on the P.R. so perhaps he became an unjustified expense and they didn't see him progressing beyond Davis. With the current group, I'd have no problem employing 3 QB's instead of 4.
  24. He wouldn't be the first player that felt disgruntled sitting on the P.R. I imagine Walters knew this could happen and may have tried to convince him to hang in there for another season by moving him to the I.R. before the season ended with his consent. Perhaps Bennett wanted to roll the dice in F.A., so Walters left him exposed.
