NWMP were there first before the railway, basically no population other than the local Indian tribes at the time in S. Alberta. Fort Whoop-Up is about as close as Western Canada ever got to the Wild West stuff and not surprisingly that was provoked by American whisky traders which the RCMP put the clamps on. The handful of outlaws that Western Canada had were usually American fugitives. Look at the old photos, few cowboy hats, mostly bowler hats. -

Not in Canada, they didn't. Sure farmers and ranchers probably had rifles but the NWMP didn't allow them to walk around with them just so they could shoot people when drunk. We were a British colony and governed as such, not an extension of the U.S. -

What does the image of guns have to do with Calgary? Pioneers wearing pistols on their hips never happened except maybe at the Stampede. Of course Edmonton probably never had an Eskimo population either... -

Bowman hasn't woken up yet so the Esks. may have a chance. From a Bomber perspective it's better if CGY wins which would focus the race for second on Wpg. and BC. -

Edmonton seems to have regressed to the 2014 version of themselves. Sadly not much of a contest. -
I believe in all sports 80% of the fan-base for any team knows little more about the actual team then what the MSM reports on, and simply goes by the win-loss record the club achieves and the product they see on the field. Within this group there is and will continue to be enormous discontent with Jones and his methods throughout Sask. and if this season plays out the way it's going, game attendance and merchandise sales will begin to take a hit once they move to their new stadium.
-
That could be be a repeat performance of the Kelly-LeFors saga.
-
just curious, which part of the field do you consider the red zone?
-
Hard to judge that play, I certainly didn't see it clearly and don't believe TSN took the time to show it from different angles. For people eager to throw away the video replay and challenges they will have to live with the officials original calls both good and bad.

Popp may no longer be able to pay KG his incentive laden contract for starts due to previous SMS budgeting blunders. -

Even if that call is reversed, the game is tied and likely headed for over-time. I think the Bombers odds of winning with Medlock vs. Crapinga are better than 50/50. -
You listened to Nichols comments but failed to mention that he also said that he's learned not to force the ball into dangerous spaces as he acknowledged he was doing last year which lead to multiple interceptions every game. As for Clarence he contributed by making a few clutch grabs at key times, can't expect 10 balls and 200 yards every game.
-
I don't think they actually made into the red zone much today, maybe once? Most stalls seemed to happen from 35 yards and out, thus Medlock's longish field goals. I don't have the stats. but I believe only one was a chip shot.

O'Shea's mistake to over-kick the coverage, Medlock should have punted 45-50 yards along the sidelines. -

Yah, so what? That's no reason not to build up a bitter rivalry between two Eastern teams. -

Wondering why a LD weekend rivalry has not been established between the Als and the RB's yet? It's been 4 years and there's room for a second game on Sunday or even on Sat. It seems like a natural fit considering their proximity to create a heated rivalry like other CFL teams enjoy with their neighbours, plus it creates so much more publicity than a regular season game. Perhaps Troy Westwood could offer some suggestions to get it started. -

Frederick is not likely 100% healthy, in O'Shea's last presser he said he had a lower body injury. -

Agreed, when Dressler lined up at WR this year he was relatively quiet, his best games have come from the slot position. If Sheppard wants to keep the job over Mayo this would be a good game to demonstrate the reasons to do so. He probably has the upper hand on the blocking front but haven't seen him demonstrate much YAC ability. -

Holy crap! This deserves it's own thread. We've only been through this 147 times already. It's getting to the point when you no longer pay any attention to the status of Mulumba or Bilikudi, much like when you hear a rumour that Trump said something stupid again. -

I'm sure it happens that a player tires of biding his time sitting in reserve and asks for his release, we just never hear that side of the story. I recall that Castillo was well into a career in education last season when he got the call from the Bombers, it may be that he wishes to carry on with those plans as well. -
That is a little too Tamanesque for my liking.

Shouldn't have to rely on him much unless Shologan or Cummings go down. Riders don't have much of a running game so an occasional spelling shouldn't be noticeable. -

Facing a tandem of Messam and Cotton could be frightening, especially if the Stamps O-line can still punch the holes that Cornish used to gallop through. -
I think Hardrick spent some time with the Riders as well, but not sure if it was before or after BC. Glad he got his spot back from Foketi, love the guys enthusiasm.
