To answer my own question it looks like Danny Barrett went 11-24-1 his first two seasons and eventually 57-68-1 between 2000-2006 with Sask. Lancaster went 4-28 in two seasons with Sask. but ended up being fired. He also finished his coaching career in Hamilton with a record of 5-27 in the last two years. Between those two bookends he was a great coach compiling a record of 83-43 with the Esks. and 55-66 with Hamilton which would have been much better if not for the last two years.

You're right about this, just re-watched the game and the D played some of their worst football right at the start of the second half. Should have had plenty of rest and motivation coming out of the locker room but showed nothing. O'Shea went into the locker room mad, apparently they shared cookies and milk and had a nap. -
Just curious if any other CFL coach has ever started off with as poor a record (12-26) as O'Shea and has ever turned it around and had a successful career with the same team?

Oh yes, a little balm to soothe the wounds of critically injured Bomber fans! -
You forgot Don Matthews propped up in a lawn-chair snoozing.

Yah, before the season even started, Rick Worman I think. Higgins also lost 3 QB's in game one.

The great Jesse Briggs. Unfortunately some responsible adult ruined his Wikipedia page by editing out the glory. October 10th, 2015 game vs. the BC Lions, Jesse gained 11 yards on a 3rd and 10 fake punt run. -

Except there is this... Scott Mitchell @ScottMitchellPM Jul 2 Marquay McDaniel on #Bombers: “Winnipeg just didn’t look like they had a lot of energy last night, really. Especially on defence.” #CFL -

As Doug Brown alluded to on the Post Game Show it could be conditioning, Is Wylie the man in charge of fitness and diet?

Watching the Stamps O-line operate with a group of largely unheralded Natls. is to marvel at whatever secret ingredient they possess that forms such cohesion. They operate almost seamlessly and they are the main reason for years of success CGY. has had running the ball despite their very good RB's. No wonder Messam took a pay cut during F.A. just to stay with the team, despite the majority opinion of him, he is not stupid.

Odds and Sods - Game 2 - Bombers at Stamps

It was all hilariously stupid in the first place, whether Medlock kicks from the 50 or from the 40 makes little difference but when putting on a comedy of errors, the play must end with a hearty laugh. -

I don't think it did, the clock was stopped at 12 secs. after the first Harris play, then started again when the ref. blew in the next play but Willy wasted 3-4 secs. before snapping the ball. If Harris would have dropped immediately after the next completion they might have had 2-3 secs. for the FG. -
As are most threads in the last two days, this is what happens when bountiful optimism turns to bitter ash.

I think it's too early to blame LaPo in all of this, for the most part the play calling looks good. When Willy executes the plays work well, but too often he gives up on the designed play quickly and either throws a check down to Harris standing 3 yards away or takes off up field in his best impersonation of Justin Goltz. -
Ideally yes, but when a DT is giving up 50 or more pounds to an experienced OT bull-rushing is not going to succeed very often.
-
Will you be moving what's left of the organization to Transcona to participate in the summer league?
-
Corney plays a bit like John Chick and probably physically closer to a bull-rusher than most DT's in the league. That skill is more useful inside, less so outside.
