BC Lions sign QB Keith Price https://twitter.com/bclions/status/712682771865534465 Looks like Wally's QB pipeline has done gone dry. Heading towards the season with a wonky Lulay, an underpaid and disgruntled Jennings and an in-experienced Price is going to leave the Lions on the bottom of the pile. Wally's glory days are over. -
Much higher chance of being killed in a car accident than by a terrorist no matter the country, bad luck either way. Brussels is a nice place to visit, can't live life in the shadow of fear.

I'm not sure a site like that even qualifies as satire as there is no evidence of humor or wit in their articles. They present themselves as a provider of both satire and real news with no distinction between the two and really don't explain their editorial objectives other than in that one line disclaimer. It creates confusion and it borders on libelous when they make up false new stories and pump them out on to the inter-web with no accountability and little indication that they are not presenting fact.

You did notice this statement right? "HotGlobalNews is both a satire news site and real news site. Posts should be read at your own discretion." They also have articles with the following headings. "Justin Trudeau To Build “Statue of Trudeau” in 2017" "Justin Trudeau Arrested For Driving High Returning From New Year’s Eve Party." "Justin Trudeau Wants To “Temporarily Shutdown” The Internet In Canada To Prevent ISIS Recruitment" Not sure what the point of this news site is but there is satire and there is pure bullshit, this rag seems to be composed totally of the latter. Might explain what Harper has been up to since he lost the PM chair though. :-)

Ottawa and Edmonton still squabbling about compensation over the hiring of Jason Maas. A compensation dispute between the Eskimos and Ottawa RedBlacks is back in the hands of CFL commissioner Jeffrey Orridge after the teams could not reach an agreement with help from a mediator on Friday. The teams have been locked in a squabble over Edmonton’s hiring of former RedBlacks offensive co-ordinator Jason Maas to be their head coach in mid-December. “We had a mediation and there wasn’t any obvious resolution so the matter will be deferred to the commissioner,” said Ottawa Sports and Entertainment Group president Jeff Hunt on Tuesday. “It’s important to make the distinction it wasn’t an arbitrator who hears everybody out, then makes a ruling at the end. This was a mediator, who kind of tries to say, ‘Hey guys, can you work something out?’ We went through that process and we were unable to come up with an arrangement that both parties were happy with.” Full article. http://ottawacitizen.com/sports/local-sports/redblacks-eskimos-cant-solve-maas-dispute-with-mediator -

Somebody needs to tell Stanley that rag is to be used strictly for cleaning his cleats. -
Hopefully if you want to end your life you can go to a "specialist" who has some experience in this department. It may create a whole new niche market for "death clinics" staffed by doctors who were never very good at preserving life in the first place....off hand I can think of a few who would be well qualified.

It looks like Bryant Turner has survived the purge and will be present at TC. It will be interesting to see how he performs with a gun pointed at his head.

Lawless article on officiating and rule changes

The CFL Rules Committee decides on rule changes, not Glen Johnson. He is just the striped messenger boy. -
As I suspected, they're more or less generic of sex.

It be Jimmie Walker. Dy-no-mite!

Patton has the speed but it remains to be seen if he has good hands, according to his college coach he was very versatile and a great route runner. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1F7MF1xuK-8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gKcYO1vXiW0

If you haven't heard "Canada's Team" is in demand in every city, in every province....this I know, cause the Rider fans tell me so... -
LMAO at the second video! Seriously excellent work by this company, a few years down the road I expect to see an advanced version robot football on TV. No more concussion issues or torn ACL's. Geeks rule!.

I think criticism of Medlock's punting ability is mostly directed at his average yards per punt, what it doesn't account for is the hang-time and ball placement he achieves.

As long as the Bombers are in every game for the first 6 it will be a good sign, from Labour Day on is when it counts. If O'Shea can't find a way to beat the top 3 teams this year, he doesn't deserve a new contract. Walters has earned another contract but he has to improve the scouting staff or flush it.

Choice of channels coming to cable TV packages soon.

A big part of their strategy will be to make it so inconvenient and unattractive to switch packages that 95% of their customers won't bother. -

Golden rule #1. Never hire a contractor that shows up wearing a false nose and moustache. -

Here's to the Bombers putting the wins on the board themselves and not having to rely on other teams sucking to make the playoffs. -

If you could find Corey Chamblin he might tell you all about the security a contract extension buys. Is Wally allowed to offer a contract extension to himself? -

This is where I'm not so certain who is in control. It's not Lulays knee that's the problem. It's his shoulder. He hasn't looked the same since he first hurt it. And he's one hit away from it being damaged again. Do want to go into the season with him as the starter, and no Jennings to back him up even? Lulay didn't look like he could get the team to the playoffs last year. Jennings looked like the future, sure the jury is still out. But that's not the case with Lulay. Jennings and his new agent must see this as well. So does Buono have the power in owning a contract that is cheap, and a proven, yet injury prone Vet already under Contract. Or is Jennings in control by being (as it stands now anyway) the best chance for the team to win. Is Buono on thin ice right now? Can he survive a loosing season, when he has a potential star QB not playing becuase he (bouno) is knowingly being cheap? I don't know. Will be interesting to see how this plays out. This. After a 7-11 season Wally is already on thin ice, the one and out with Tedford was a debacle in all respects. Looks to me as if BC has spent this off-season rummaging through the bargain basement for coaching staff and free agents and will be lucky to make the playoffs. -
That knowledge may help you better understand "why you're going to die" as you fall from the skies, but it's not likely to prevent it. The episode featuring the death of John Kennedy Jr. should be mandatory viewing for any small airplane pilot.

This probably has nothing to do with the topic you guys are discussing but one of my favorite programs is Mayday, which is a Canadian produced documentary series that investigates air crashes and is shown on the National Geographic Channel every so often. Very interesting that 95% of air disasters can be attributed to human error somewhere along the line, either before or during the flight. In the near future I expect that we will see a fully qualified pilot on standby but not at the controls, computers don't need oxygen to function, don't become suicidal and seldom lose track of where the ground is.
