  1. I'm beginning to believe that the Bombers would get much better kicking results if they went back to dividing the duties between two players and let Lirim concentrate on what he does best. It might produce a bit of a ratio kerfuffle if they can't locate an excellent Canuck kicker but other teams seem to be able to deal with it. ST is a huge part of the game and it's just as important as the O or the D when it comes down to allowing or producing points that ultimately win or lose games.
  2. I very much doubt that. When Khari retired as a player he got a job as a sideline commentator for the CBC. I remember the first game he worked in Winnipeg. There was a break in play and some talking heads on the screen with the Cannad Inns field in the background. For no apparent reason a bunch of applause and cheering started up. It turned out that it was for Khari who was on the sideline just south of the visitor's bench. They asked him about it later and he, visibly choked up, said "I didn't know what to expect coming back here because I didn't leave under the best of circumstances but I was getting lots of 'Welcome back' and 'Good luck on your new job' comments. These Winnipeg fans are great." I think he'd come back here, provided that the circus that's been in town for so long has finally left. IMO, at the end of this season we have to re-evaluate our OC position. The guys we should be thinking about are Khari, Jarious Jackson and Jason Maas. We might have to throw in an "Assistant Head Coach" title but that wouldn't be a bad thing. If he came back It would be important for Khari to have good support from assistants to help with blocking schemes. I think Bob Wylie is at the end of his road and will probably be gone along with Marcel.
  3. On the Pre-game show Irving just said that Marve had less than 1/2 hour to practice this week and he only threw about 5 passes. Does not bode well.
  4. When is Crompton back? May be wise for the Als to spell Cato while he further develops, turns out the rookie miracle is not to be.
  5. Last week against Sask. T.O. was sleeping for 3 Q's, once they work up and Harris got rolling it was no contest. The Argos also showed poor discipline last week taking a lot of bad penalties, so I would expect them to crank down on that aspect of their game as well.
  6. I think it's time for Khari to come home, he will probably jump at the first OC offer that comes his way. Miller should have some sway.
  7. At least Hamilton is a well balanced team on both sides of the ball, EE keeps collecting wins with a pathetic offence.
  8. No surprise, most teams are unable to handle Edm. or Ham.'s blitzes. I'm hoping Cgy. can maintain their dominance over the Esks.
  9. My guess is there was some type of conflict/fight between the two of them. I'd love it if the Bombers traded for Bowman. Bryant Turner for Bowman? I can see that, Sam took offence to Bowman throwing holy water on him.
  10. My guess is there was some type of conflict/fight between the two of them. I'd love it if the Bombers traded for Bowman. Bryant Turner for Bowman? Can't believe John Bowman is a healthy scratch, his replacement must be something else.
  11. Sam is injured.....or more likely not in game shape.
  12. The Cons have already stacked that deck in the best way they could…a very long election period when the Cons have built up the largest war chest of any party. And, of course, the taxpayer will also pay more , seeing as a longer campaign costs more. Oh, and the parties are also reimbursed for half the money they spend during the campaign. Must be nice to see the taxpayer pay half…for all the bickering and attacks. I'll vote for the party most likely to do away with asinine rules like this.
  13. Gee, I feel old. I was cruising for at least 10 years before there was any such thing as a night club in Wpg. and all beer parlours were pretty much the same. For excitement we would occasionally pub crawl Main St.....the wrong end. Always Started at the Woodbine (used to be men only), and ended at the "New Occidental". Probably forgotten more names than I can remember but some of them were "The Leyland", "The McClaren", "The Bell Hotel", "The Brunswick"....Youth is wasted on the drunk.
  14. Too bad they didn't take into account that the weather could be bad, it was forecast...they could have had it and hour or more earlier. They would have had to have the "Union" okay that adjustment and it would have taken them months to get around to looking at it. Q. Was there sufficient urgency? A. I think not, shut up or we'll strike!
  15. Surpise, surpri......not really.
  16. Yes, we are so desperate that this is not inconceivable. Portis didn't really demonstrate enough good or bad to make a rational decision on him in the amount of playing time he was alotted during TC. He'd likely still be sitting on the PR if Davis hadn't come loose from Cgy.
  17. Employed, St. Louise Rams.
  18. It all makes so much sense now... That's the meat clerk! That's the meat clerk!!!
  19. The Mafia might disagree with your interpretation.
  20. Portis is not mcuh of a help since he hasn't play any down in the CFL yet. He will still be a 4th string in our roster if he comes back. 3rd if they boot Brohm. You need to update your tag line to "No Willy, no way".
  21. If the Bombers are going to dig through the trash bins of their past (wish they wouldn't) they might as well bring back Portis at least he's sitting on top and not rotting near the bottom.
  22. Good point, Marcel had strict instructions to build the offence around Willy's skill set and so he set out to re-create Calvillo style pocket protection without the horses or brains to do it.
  23. With Cotton out both Marshall and Scott should be motivated to put on a show. Hopefully they can duplicate what Messam and Allen do for Sask. rotating them in and out so that they compete with each other.
  24. I hope that Walters is tracking down an "offencive consultant" to help Marcel with his "problem areas" at this very moment. It doesn't have to be a permant addition so an experienced ex-coach like Doug Berry who was an excellent O-Line coach might fit the bill. In the off-season they can deal with Marcel permanently.
