  1. Can't forget about Evan Holm, more than likely we see him back at some point.
  2. If Schoen reaches FA, that won't be the case, he's going to receive a lot higher offers than Brady, and some other team is likely to offer him half the moon, forcing Walters to concede.
  3. They play 6 O-line fronts a lot more than they did 2 years ago, 6th guy is getting plenty of game reps, 7th guy is now the spare. I think they have Kornelson and Adamson coming back from last year. Yoshi maxed out last season at $166k and was nominated top O-lineman in the West, can't see him ever wanting to leave the Bombers willingly for more money, he's so ingrained in the team and the community.
  4. Disagree, Gray rarely gets blown up or overpowered and he and Neufeld are usually the two down field clearing the path for Brady, and the majority of Brady's runs are to the left of C.
  5. Gives them a whole new way to put the ball in the endzone, from 30 yards in he's a running threat they'll have to pay attention to. The main thing his game was lacking in 2019 was patience, he didn't spend much time looking down field, hopefully he's learned to slow things down and take his time.
  6. Similar to Anthony Bennet, Mason Bennett must be invisible, based on chatter I looked for him all last season and rarely caught sight of him doing anything noticeable. As a rotational player may be ok, but the choice might come down to him or Kongbo.
  7. I think you have this mixed up, when Jeffcoat is out Willie spends most of his time flailing about, the majority of his sacks occur when Jeffcoat is in the lineup. Also not to be forgotten, when the Bomber pass-rush is "handled", Hall's secondary turns to mush.
  8. They both played 14 games last season, Jeffcoat's max was $185k, but his cap cost was probably less than $120k.
  9. Blame the ******* Riders, they just re-signed Anthony Lanier for $250k and he probably sits out more games than Jeffcoat.
  10. Ti-Cats cut Kongbo. https://3downnation.com/2024/01/29/canadian-dl-jonathan-kongbo-says-hes-been-released-by-hamilton-tiger-cats/
  11. Uhhh oh, got caught underpaying appreciated assets. @JohnDHodge Per sources, Jackson Jeffcoat will not re-sign with the Blue Bombers before the CFL's negotiation window opens on Feb. 4. A return to Winnipeg remains possible but it appears the 33-year-old wants to find out what other options are available. #Bombers | #ForTheW | #CFL | #CFLFA
  12. Have to be good at more than run blocking, pass protection and consistent ball snapping ability is probably more important.
  13. Yah, can't see him accepting a demotion from starter willingly.
  14. Sure they could, all they'd have to do is cut the corresponding positional players after signing Bomber FA's and they'd be instantly better in most positions. O'Day claims putting together an improved O-line is his main priority, so spending more/smarter money on the O-line shouldn't be a problem if it improves QB protection. What better way to get ahead quickly than buying out a large chunk of a better teams O-line or an entire coaching staff!
  15. I think it's pretty risky to let players that are willing to re-sign for more or less the same money as last year reach FA, never know what offers they could receive that convince them to leave and screw up the team's continuity and depth. For instance, say Sask. goes all in on their O-line and decides to offer Gray, Kona and Hardrick $30k more than Walters was planning to pay them. All of a sudden, the O-line is at risk of losing 3 of it's starting members and has to find replacements, or Walters ends up coughing up more cash than he originally planned to retain them. This is just a made up example of unexpected things that could happen, I repeat a made up example.
  16. Anyone have a link to a free stream for this game?
  17. Depends what you mean by resetting the market, at the time Bighill first signed in 2018 he became the highest paid D- player in the CFL, only to be eclipsed by Jefferson's signing in 2019. Decent chance Stanley was also the highest paid O-lineman in the league at one time as well.
  18. More like 1-1/2 years, he was brought in mid-season.
  19. Probably no other team looking for an Import FG kicker, 6 out of 9 employ a Natl. Bede and Faithful being the exceptions.
  20. The Elks have Kevin Brown on an ELC, he was #2 behind Brady in rushing yards. If any teams are interested in Brady, I suspect it would be BC, Sask. or Ottawa, but for the numbers he's looking for it makes little economic sense for any of those teams.
  21. Stanback made about $170k last season and he's maybe the 4th or 5th best RB in the league now, making Brady the top paid RB in CFL history could be accomplished for $180k. Who is going to offer him more?
  22. I would assume Walters took all the money saving loopholes into consideration when negotiating Zach's last contract to get the most mileage out of his dollar. But maybe there is a way to restructure it further without Zach taking a pay-cut. If I was Walters I'd play the "save Dalton card".
  23. I guess those NFL tryouts didn't materialize, he's a CFL lifer now.
  24. Cutting Liegghio showed how serious O'Shea is about having a reliable FG kicker who can perform when the chips are down, it's a huge priority for this team and Castillo delivered. Despite all the ratio implications it causes, I think they easily retain Castillo and work around the ratio once again, since there doesn't appear to be a Natl. FG kicker lined up to challenge him.
