It's time for the Riders to start sucking ...
Fatty Liver replied to IC Khari's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
They brought back Keith Price a couple of weeks ago and have him on the PR. Edit: Just noticed the Riders have 12 men on their PR. I thought the limit was 10? -
Mark, she was in jail for resisting arrest. She stayed in jail because no one came forward to post a $5,000 bond for her release. In the end this probably played a bigger role in her decision to commit suicide than the actual arrest. If someone would have posted bail she could have been out within the day.

It does seem that way but unfortunately once you start digging into U.S. history you soon come to realize the strands of insanity go back a long, long way. The idea that the U.S. is a beacon of democracy and equality is an absolute myth as it is specifically orientated to prevent these qualities from flourishing. Their political system although full of good intentions was grown from a rancid seed right from the beginning. The U.S.'s system of competitive capitalism was mainly built on unmoderated exploitation of resources and cheap labour, with a "king of the hill" mentality for the winners and mere crumbs for the losers. The winners immediately seized this advantage to perpetuate their power and control by entrenching this advantage in the cloak of political corruption that steers their government to this day. Nothing tepid about their soup as the U.S. has been a crucible of creativity and innovation that has revolutionized life on this planet for better and for worse. Love it or lump it the U.S. is what it is because it got that way.

Self inflicted long term death - just another first world problem. Nothing scary about death by marshmallow.

I don't know that the Willy injury against Edm was an "obvious penalty"... but I did point out during the game that Jake Thomas got called for a penalty that was essentially the same type of play... hit the qb low it's supposed to be a flag and he was obviously hit low. Very obvious to everyone but the refs. During the game, Dunigan mentioned that a fine was likely coming, and MOS wouldn't give his thoughts on the hit because he didn't want to get in trouble with the league so I'm surprised we haven't heard of any punishment for Eddie Steele. The CFL needs to crack down on these incidents. I would suggest Eddie Steele be stripped of his uniform, transported 800 miles Eastward and incarcerated in the "IGF House of Blues" for the remainder of his natural playing career. There he will be fitted in blue and gold, chained to those of his ilk and serve out his sentence in hard pursuit of opposition QB's. Case dismissed!

"There is nothing Marve can show in practice this week"
Fatty Liver replied to bb1's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Maybe the rational posters to a degree yes.. But there is ample reasons listed as to why this is.. I'll reinerate again tho.. -marve hurt -brohm is more experienced -brohm is more of a pocket passer These are the 3 that stand out to me as why brohm is ahead of marve at this point.. - when Marve was not hurt....Marve was outperforming Brohm. Once again, I'm going to ask the question, when? When has Marve outperformed Brohm? In practice? In preseason? It's comments like this that make me want to lose it on people. Practice and preseason mean almost nothing. Again, I'm not saying Brohm doesn't suck, or that I don't want Marve to play. I want Marve to play, and I hope he succeeds. But we haven't seen anything from him to say he is better then Brohm yet. The rest of your comments I agree with. Last season? BROHM, B 2014 WPG 39 70 55.7 454 54 0 0 1 1.43 69.6 MARVE, R 2014 WPG 11 22 50 140 42 1 4.6 0 85.4 So you're telling me that you can tell by these stats, that Marve outperformed Brohm last season? Really? Looks pretty similar to me, other then Marve running a lot more then Brohm. With this little amount of playing time behind Marve, we can't really judge if he's better then Brohm. Again, I hope he is if he ever gets to play because I'm tired of watching Brohm. But you have no proof yet. Every time I hear people say "WE NEED TO START MARVE, HE'S BETTER THEN BROHM", all I keep hear is the past few years bouncing back..."we need to play Brink, he's better then Buck", "we need to play Elliott, he's better then Brink", "we need to play Goltz, he's better then Buck/Elliott", etc... And when they got to play what did we hear from the same people who were screaming and yelling to have them play? "Get rid of Brink/Elliott/Goltz...he sucks!". Please tell us that you went back and re-watched the two games that Marve participated in last year and that you're not just staring blankly at a sheet of numbers? The reality is that Marve "out performed" both Willy and Brohm in those games in that he made positive things happen, moved the ball, caused no turn-overs and was able to score points when the others could not. This does not mean that he is necessarily a better QB than either Willy or Brohm but under Marcel's scripted system they were not finding a way to win those games and their health was being put in serious jeopardy by sitting in a poorly protected pocket. The object of the game is to find a way to win, not just conform to a failing model that perpetuates losses. Remember at the time of Marve's appearances the Bombers were mired in a half season losing skid which he ended. Sometimes you just have to break the mold and start fresh. -

All of this time I thought you were a qualified expert with all the stuff you come up with for "Odds and Sods" and now I find out it was just the gin lubricating your keyboard. That's as good a reason as any to endorse gin, I guess. -
In today's presser when asked directly about a switch out O'Shea stated that Neufeld was getting reps. in all O-line spots and that he was a very versatile player. O'Shea almost has this non-answer stuff down to a science.

Garza. Sammy ******* Garza. Was that the son in law? Yeah. He was the son in law. I worked on the ham line at Canada Packers with Mike Murphy back in the day, he wouldn't let me near his sister so she settled for Sammy. Did Jack West (wesloski) work there in HR when you were there? Spend much time at the Chalet? Or am I thinking old plant on archibald and Marion.... Sorry Rod, missed these questions. Didn't know Jack but I only worked there a couple of summers and yes it was at the old St. Boniface location. Half the Murphy kids had jobs at CP because the GM lived across the street from them in River Heights. One of the company nurses was Cal's wife. Chalet? Oh yea, well before it lost it's soul and became Teasers.

It seems Zach Anderson is the unmentioned man this season but on a lot of plays he is the one being double teamed.

Pocket passing QB is so yesterday

Here's another interesting stat. for all of you number crunchers. In 5 games Willy has been knocked out twice. How in the hell can the Bombers ever hope to protect him from serious damage? -

It would be in the best interest of all parties if O'Shea would pro-actively address this **** storm and clarify Marve's status in his pressers instead of letting rumours rule the day. -

On most occasions Willy runs out of desperation, not intentionally and exposes himself to heavy hits trying to achieve a first down. If you re-watch the first BC-Rider game, Lulay did a masterful job of running by choice, gained over 100 yds. and was never hit at the end of a run. -

Good points, I imagine Marcel's time in Mtl. attempting to defend Calvillo has greatly influenced his choice of systems. Unfortunately with his skill-set Drew Willy has little hope of being anything other than a 3 step drop back QB. -

You need to stop looking at the stats. and re-watch the game film from last year. By hook or by crook Marve makes things happen, moves the ball and scores points. Much like Collaros did when he first subbed for Ray he relied on his ability to throw on the run. Call it chaos if you like but a smart OC would figure out how to harness that chaos to the teams advantage without stifling it. Austin and Condell seem to have figured it out. As for playing Marcel's system it is a verifiable QB killer and it's a miracle that Brohm escaped from Edm. with out major damage. Marve has a front row seat to this carnage and with his history of knee operations, I'm sure he's developed a strong belief in his own self-preservation. Do we really want to see Marve take the kind of shot that Willy took to his knee? -
I have three questions.... 1) Why do you need to carry around a gun? 2) Have you ever needed to use it to defend yourself and/or your loved ones/property? 3) Do you train regularly in use of your gun to maintain proficiency? (like the police and armed forces personnel do) 4) You may trust the gun in your holster, but I don't. And I don't trust half the psycho's out there who do. 1) I don't carry a gun. It's illegal. But if I could I would, simply because if rather have it if I ever did need one and hope I never would. (Ever had a neighbor break down your door and try to kill your roommate?) 2) No I have not. But could have used one once if I had one at the time. (See above) 3) Yes I know how to use a gun and am a pretty good shot. 4) Not a question. There lies the key. If the angry neighbour would have had a gun your roommate would probably be dead and if you would have had a gun to defend him, you'd probably be in prison and not posting on this forum. Count your blessings.

In fairness to Brohm, he did look much more composed for the one game that he was the designated starter last year before he was injured. With a short week and only one practice session the odds of him improving dramatically for BC are slim. -
Heard on TSN radio that Tyler had a strained ACL and may have been playing on it.

I've seen little commitment to the running game from Marcel except in the first game. The promised "thunder and lightening" has not materialized so far and the two talented RB's they have are being minimized more with each passing game. I would like to see both backs on the field together more often even if they use Marshall more in a blocking capacity, at least the illusion that he might run the ball is there for the D to think about.

It doesn't help that when Marcel explains the playbook to Marve that he does so only in French. -
You are mistaken, front page headline in the Braille World News was "Brohm Sucks Again!"
-
Conditions had dissipated by the time Brohm entered the game, so yes he does blow that badly. Field is still wet, balls are still slick.. It's not like the humidity and moisture just disappears. Similar conditions didn't seem to traumatize the Esks. nearly as much.

As Obama said recently terrorist related activity in the U.S. killed less than 100 people last year, guns over 10,000.
