Missing out on Brown, the Ti-Cats don't have a lot of options left, I think Milanovitch hands the ball to Bo and tells him to "show me". I don't think they're counting on retaining Shiltz who could be a hot commodity as #2 on multiple teams, and I doubt Powell can win 50% of his games if thrown into the fire again this season, although he has the potential to be good down the road.

Barriere looks to be the spittin' image of V.A., pocket passer with good mobility and a good arm, not much for rolling out or throwing on the run though, he likes to be planted. He has the talent but whether he can learn to adjust his game or read the field at all remains to be seen, it only took V.A. 6 years to establish himself as a starter. -
Ford was a second round pick in 2022. Here's a bunch of gobbledygook that explains the limitations of his contract. The 2019 CBA introduces a rookie salary structure for Nationals first contract consisting of 2 years plus a team option. A Max. Min salary is defined as $65,000 for the first two years of the contract, with a maximum housing allowance or signing/roster bonus of $7,500 per season and maximum 50% + 1 bonus based on snaps of $7,500 per season for a maximum earnings of $80,000 for first and second round picks in their first two seasons, with the third season base salary not exceeding the second year base salary by more that 10%.

Additionally Harris signed a low value contract with the Als in 2022 and promptly took the starting job away from Vernon Adams after Khari was fired. He led them to a second place finish and an Eastern Final appearance in which he completed 25 passes out of 30 attempts for 362 yards and one touchdown in the 34–27 loss to the Argos. He's not a scrub and can make things happen when set up in a good offence with decent protection.

They'd be smart to pursue Shiltz but don't know if they could afford him. -

The Riders can't be dumb enough to roll with the same 3 QB lineup that failed them badly last season, by hoping for a better result this season. If Harris goes down again early, they are hooped. -

Someone is angry.....someone thought they did ok. -
$300k is beyond the max., the contracts of Lewis and Lawler are outliers that skewed the model and fall beyond the bounds of common sense, except in the case of Jones. Every other elite receiver topped out at or below $200k last season, accepting $50-$100k less than Lawler and Lewis. Hatcher, Hollins and Cottoy already re-signed with BC this season at or below $225k, Rhymes signed with the RB's for around $220k, the Elks cut Dunbar at $200k. Hopefully Schoen falls into the norm and doesn't add to the anomaly.
-
Looks like his NFL opportunities have dried up, tie him up with a 3 year contract starting at $225k and topping out at $250k in the 3rd year, can throw in a few bonuses for leading the league in receiving and hitting other milestones. If he's offered anywhere close to $300k in FA, I'd guess he won't be wearing blue next season.

I think the Collaros and Lawler contracts pushed Walters to the limits, he no longer has discretionary spending to bring in valued FA's from other teams, considering the other relatively high priced positional players he already employs, Jefferson, Jeffcoat, Bryant, Bighill, Hardrick... Before making Collaros the highest paid QB in the CFL, Walters routinely used the previous seasons savings to retain many more players than he's been able to lately. Jefferson and Neufeld may be the only two paid with last year's money.

He's also a certified Jake hater!

It's mostly the ratio keeping Fox off the field, if they had the ability to play 2 import DT's instead of 2 Natl. DT's, he'd see a lot more reps. They need to find that Natl. DE that can make an impact this year to open up more flexibility on the D-line.

The last 15 minutes of Fargo's final episode was hilarious, I had a sense of what was coming but the way they executed it was priceless.
-
In reality we have little idea of what Fox can contribute as he was given so few opportunities to perform last season. If they decide to roll with Walker and Fox this season, I'm not going lose sleep worrying the coaching staff doesn't have a clue what they're doing.

Ottawa already has Justin Hardy, who cracked 1,000 yds. last season and plays a gritty style similar to Bailey.
