  1. That made no sense at all.
  2. Andrew Harris could use some help in the running game. Seems BC has moved away from from the 2 RB system that worked so well for them.
  3. Question. Does the O stats. Sask. racks up in O.T. count for player totals?
  4. Leonard: 4.5 @ 250lbs. Things that make you say wow.
  5. Lulay looking sharp.
  6. I met his Dad once years ago. He was a funny guy and really well liked. Does that help with the pain at all? Rod Black didn't deserve a happy childhood.
  7. This game illustrates why having a strong running game ready to rumble when called upon is a good strategy.
  8. I like Esks. D formation as pointed out by LaPo. QB has no read on the pass coverage.
  9. Dumb player that relied on his athleticism gets old this is probably what it looks like. Body lets him down he's got nothing. True, smarts aren't in Henry's toolbox.
  10. I've got to wonder if Henry's vision is going, doesn't seem to have near the accuracy that he used to have.
  11. RB's/Esks. snoozefest through first Q.
  12. Using 2 roster spots on returners is a worse idea. Maybe but Stoudermire can back up at receiver and DB and I would even like to see Veltung taking some reps from Adams on offence Imo Stoudermire does not look like he could be a physical DB so I would pass on that option. Better to preserve his health for kick returning as he seems to be a bit injury prone. With the new rules, you don't necessarily want a "physical" DB. Oh yes I do! I have a reoccurring nightmare were Jerome Messam carries 6 angry little rug-rats on his back for a 40 yd. TD run. Kyle Walters is watching from the sidelines, looks to O'Shea and just says oops.

  14. Surprised Tristan Jackson was not included in the group as he seems to have a bit of a dirty edge to him. In the BC game alone he took an unnecessary shot below the knee of receiver Cameron Morrah and probably ended his season. In the same game the slow-mo camera showed him deliberately lowering his helmet to to make contact with another BC players helmet and ended up concussing or stunning himself. These head shots are pretty clearly defined by the loud pop of plastic on plastic and yet both the refs. and the announcers do their best to ignore them as long as a QB is not involved. If the CFL is serious about protecting players they should not be discriminating by position.
  15. Winnipeg Blue Bombers offensive lineman Dominic Picard was fined for unnecessary roughness towards Montreal Alouette Alan-Michael Cash. http://cfl.ca/article/five-players-fined-after-week-3-incidents
  16. On the contrary that eliminates the QB sprint to the corner. You can't lump Marve in with Goltz that easily.
  17. It seems MOS wanted to stand pat with his July 1 2014 roster last year until forced to change That seems to be the case for the last couple of year. The air-lifts of 5-6 players seem to have become a thing of the past.
  18. Tired of the CFL being a quick stepping stone for player's NFL aspirations with little benefit returned. I would like to see the standard contract fixed at 2+1 and if a player can't make that commitment, so be it. Plenty of others will and 7-11 job opportunities for unemployed football players are apparently unlimited.
  19. I don't know about that. I wouldn't ever want to enter into a thousand yard staring contest with him, especially during a game while he was coaching. Or a hangdog staredown...... Deputy Dawg might give Burke a run for his money.
  20. True enough, but successful offences use many players. But it's true, those guys will get the majority of work. Ray is a master at spreading the ball around.
  21. Have you ever seen him take reps there? I know it was suggested by a few people (myself being one) that a move to centre would probably be the best career move/way for the team to use him offseason, but I've never seen him there. If Goossen were to assume a starting guard position, and someone got hurt, would it not be possible to just move Neufeld to the guard spot, and Goose to C? Unless of course, Goossen got hurt. Then we see what Paddy is really made of. Little known fact but Paddy is actually made out of icing sugar. That's why you will never, ever see him play in the rain.
  22. Does the Editor not proof read his columns??? Unbelievable for a sports writer paid to cover football to make such a public gaffe. I look forward to his admittance of ignorance and his apology.
  23. You think they would activate Gordon? I think Veltung might make more sense if Adams can't play this week. I don't know why Veltung would make more sense to some folks, Veltung was hardly a consideration at receiver throughout camp and likely wouldn't even be on the roster if not for the fact Stoudermire AND Carlos Anderson both got hurt - meanwhile, Gordon ran with the 1s and 2s almost all camp. Maybe Veltung is a better game performer than practice performer, that definitely does happen with guys now and then, but Gordon still looked impressive and if he and Willy can get some chemistry, he could be dangerous. I think Veltung has made the most of his chances and has done a pretty good job as a returner and receiver. Maybe he continues to get better given more opportunity . He is definitely what you'd call a skilled player. Speed, quickness, seems to be able to catch the ball. Gordon hasn't really proved much except for how to piss Willy off running the wrong route Agreed, Veltung has earned his chance, best not rock the boat by giving the opportunity to Gordon over him. Hopefully Adams injury is legitimate and they're not just shuffling the deck after 3 games, he's a solid receiver and it's up to Willy to throw the ball in his direction. Poor red-zone production could be a factor in keying on only 2 receivers.
  24. Funny excerpt from the interview. ” At a home game I got the tip of my finger cut off. I’m looking down at my hand thinking, “Son of a gun, blood blister,” and I see a piece of white bone sticking out here (Walby motions to the third knuckle of his left index finger). And every time my heart pumps, the blood’s shooting out. I head to the sideline and you gotta love (former Bomber head coach) Cal (Murphy), he didn’t like anyone leaving games. He looks at me and says, “Oh, I guess you can’t play now.” And I go, “Well, uh, I don’t think so. I got a bone sticking out of my hand.” Cal goes, “Well, take your shoulder pads off and go wait outside,” and I think, “Oh, good, there’s probably an ambulance coming.” No word of a lie, they called a cab. A damn taxi. The driver comes out and says, “You’re not going in my cab like that. You’re bleeding all over the place.” So the cab driver runs into the stadium and the next thing I know I’m sitting on a stack of newspapers on my way to the hospital. A surgeon comes to see me says, “We’re going to chop it off at the knuckle and you’ll be back in a week.” And for once in my life I stood up for myself. I said, “No. You’re not cutting that knuckle off.” I had just a little bit of cuticle left. They ended up calling a surgeon out of a theatre to fix my finger. And that took me two weeks. That’s how long I got off for that one: two weeks. They put a cast on my hand and I played.
