Yeah! Thats him! Safety/WIL, I believe.....do you seriously not remember Graig Newman? Was a really huge deal that we picked him up last off season and was projecting to be our starting Safety (??) and was a fairly significant blow when he got hurt.... I do remember him and his importance, thats why I was asking. For some reason I have a hard time remembering his name. He came up in another thread months ago and I had to ask what his name was then too. Easy enough name. Just doesnt stick in my mind,. Too many chairshots. Being from Saskatchewan Newman's parents expected twins and had already chosen the names Gregg and Craig, when only one came out they had to compromise on his name. Poor kid.

Wow, that was a great article. Thanks. -
The hair also puts him over the top. Crompton is rompin in that hair ... Willy, kinda silly ... Oooww that's touchy. Can't criticize the man's hair, he donates it for little kids with cancer that have lost their hair..... http://www.locksoflove.org/ IC KHARI HATES LITTLE BALD KIDS WITH CANCER!!! BURN HIM!!! BURN HIM!!! NO, FIRST CUT OFF HIS HAIR AND THEN....BURN HIM!!!

Should the Bombers pick him up ? Only if he's pulled a "Pinball" and exchanged passports.
-
Don't know if this has been posted previously but the Als site now lists Calvillo as the Receivers Coach. Turk Schonert is listed as O.C. and QB coach.
-
I don't know, Crompton only threw three less touchdowns. That's pretty much even. Crompton is in line for a big raise now. Thanks Drew Willy I hope you're joking too. I've watched them both play. Crompton isn't even in Willy's league. Except he won. 8-2 in the second half of the season and he took them to the playoffs. What more can you ask for?

Should be interesting to see if Mitchell Gale or Trevor Harris can step up as their future replacement QB. With this shoulder surgery I'd be surprised if Ray has more than 2 years left in him before retiring. He will probably make a great O.C. one day.

White Cop Shoots Black Man, Charged With Murder

At least the black rioters in Baltimore were smart enough not to carry or brandish guns. One shot fired in the direction of the police and the results could have been ugly as many were armed with machine guns. The militarization of police forces in the last 20 years in equipment and training is both astounding and worrisome. Astounding and worrisome? How about the fact gangsters and criminals are now often betterarmed then those militaristic police officers.. Heavy body armor, bullet proof cars, heavy assault weapons with extended clips and armor piercing ammo.. Buy yea, your right.. Let's keep officer barbrady armed with a Smith and Wesson snub nose .38 and if it gets craaaaazy.. That ole pump action mossburg..Smh. Have a look at what cops in England use Bobbies with billy's??? Please inform. -
Hopefully that agreement stipulates "achievements" and does not simply award games played.

In this volatile environment your point is understandable but my worries arise when police representing governments use the same military equipment and tactics to aggressively up-end peaceful protests like the 2010 G-20 in T.O. -
... are we really going to act like the potential downside of him signing elsewhere doesn't exist? When's the last time a starting QB in the CFL left via free agency? I wouldn't be too worried. I was wondering the same and I can't think of any since Doug Flutie was jumping about. This is definitely a make it or break it year for Willy, if he performed moderately well in the last half of 2014 I would be willing to give him the benefit of doubt but the fact is he failed to do so. Posters can blame the run of defeat on the O-line, Etch, injuries, receivers, or the Queen but I believe O'Shea, Willy and Marcel mainly need to carry the heavy burden of those consecutive losses. Willy should be grateful if this years pay is commensurate with Zach Collaros as he will be getting paid for past performance and potential that did not keep pace with what Collaros has achieved within roughly the same time-frame. Willy may have eeked out moments of LEADERSHIP in 2014 but to be honest I've seen the same curious sparks emanate from Reggie Slack, Joey Elliot and Michael Bishop, so I'm yet to be convinced he is the Bombers long awaited saviour. Good sure but great, I dunno. If the man lights it up and leads the team to a significant number of victories in 2015 I'm all for paying him generously for all that he has earned.

Is this the new design for the five dollar bill?

The melee in Baltimore kind of shows how wise Charleston was in taking quick preventive action to charge the officer and avoid an uprising, they dodged a bullet. -
I take from this that Morley has no intention of retiring at this time.
-
Unbelievable. Desjardins is going to put Ottawa into cap hell within 3 years and that will undue what little progress that franchise makes during that time. The other GM's must be gobsmacked.
-
No offence but that discriminates against quite a few of us who are anti-twitterites.

Why no video summary from mini-camp? What does their media relations guy do again???
-
I don't even think it's the cost, I think someone is going to be unhappy with the lack of work they're getting. Lot of those guys probably went with the idea of being more involved. That's the brutal reality of football, there are no guarantees. It's likely one or two of these receivers will shake loose and be picked up by other CFL teams. Don't think other teams are going to want to acquire the contracts Marcel signed them to, so trades are unlikely. Should be interesting.
-
Since when is the Free Press allowed to talk to Marcel??? I think Etch pranked them.
-
This contract should have been put out to tender every five years and let the competition of the marketplace keep the fees in line. Ed can retire from the business now but no worries, he won't starve. If the players themselves do not have the expertise to monitor their business activities perhaps it's time for them to assemble a skeleton staff to do this work for them. A constant turn over of the executives due to short playing careers is not an ideal approach to managing their long-term business interests imo.

Anyone know if there was a toxicology test done on the victim? It might help explain why he made some of the piss poor decisions he made on that fateful day. (Same goes for the officer for that matter) Having a lengthy criminal record, being black and even semi-streetwise should have given him ample fore-warning that there was a reasonable possibility of being shot when he chose to resist arrest, twice. Regardless of the interpretation of the law a healthier sense of self-preservation could have avoided this tragedy imo. -
Kurt Goodrich leaves Bomber camp & quits football

But will they want him then? Serious questions on his character now and whether he could be trusted if he decided he wanted to play again. You might be right. I imagine telling O'Shea in particular "my hearts not in it" was not a wise career move. -

Sounds like the Bombers will just have to bide their time until he changes his mind again. Hopefully he will be back in a CFL training camp within 2-3 years once he comes to grips with the opportunity he has just squandered. -
White Cop Shoots Black Man, Charged With Murder

People that know more then you and i have charged him with murder. Held without bond yet. I havent watched not one cop or anyone for that matter say that. Maybe a jury will say its not murder ,,, but the fact is hes been charged with it and not only that but held with no bond. Police often over-charge. It's a technique. That's why you will read about people being charged with multiple counts relating to the same offense and then end up pleading to one of them or only one or two actually remaining when it goes to trial. Keep in mind as well that this was an extremely fast arrest. Video surfaced and he was immediately charged. Murder would be the reflex charge. manslaughter would be a charge you'd consider after investigating. Again, as I wrote earlier, CNN reported that "Murder" in that location requires pre-meditation (or, if I recall, some other factor which I think they thought of as a race-based killing in this case). No one is arguing the cop planned it and the longer this goes the more it seems it was not racially motivated. I dont believe the officer has had a court date yet. We'll see if the charge sticks. If it does, you watch, the DA will ask the judge to let the jury consider manslaughter as well. But we're talking opinion. We dont have all the facts, only what has been released. Was that murder? No. Was it murder when the 73 year old volunteer accidently shot a suspect? No and no one is suggesting it was. I wasn't going to continue to discuss this with you because I really don't see any point, but I will point out one obvious thing. For a criminal charge, the intent of the suspect is in almost all cases, critical to determining what, if any, charge is to be laid. In the case of the 73 year old, it would appear, on the face of it, that he had no intent to cause death. He thought he was going to discharge his taser. In the case of the SC officer, he knew he had his gun in hand and he fired at a fleeing suspect, not once, not twice, but eight times. Clearly his intent was entirely different. Surprised the charge of murder is all inclusive and that they don't make the distinction between first-degree and second-degree murder. Is that only in the Canadian justice system? Man-slaughter is usually reserved for accidental death caused by the perpetrator with no intent, not sure that applies in this case. Second point regarding the eight shots, I believe it comes down to police training. They don't count their bullets, they shoot until the suspect either "stops or drops" and in this instance it appears to have taken the full clip.
