  1. The CFL should sponsor a Kevin Glenn lotto to see which team gets him next year. At this rate he'll be playing into his mid 50's.
  2. I It was driving me crazy hearing the announcers just swooning over Messam. The guy has a huge lane with nobody in front of him for yards and he's all of a sudden a top 10 player in the league. Give me a break And he can't handle more than 8 carries a game. Although Cornish is trending that way too. If they're going to run Cotton like that they need to spell him a bit more as well. Marshall can handle the slack.
  3. Did anyone notice Shell?
  4. Reilly has been running on horseshoes for two years straight, his luck finally ran out. When he comes back I expect him to play more like Durant.
  5. Bombers and Riders defences looked like twins tonight, both played badly. Soft zone is going to be hard to watch this year.
  6. Reilly's knee got folded....sideways.
  7. CFL Reddit always has a game day thread that has a few stream choices. http://www.reddit.com/r/CFL/comments/3ban59/game_thread_winnipeg_blue_bombers_00_saskatchewan/
  8. I can see it coming.....Brohm for Ray.
  9. If the Als are going to play hardball, we'll throw in Marcel to keep Brohm company.
  10. That's good to know because it's supposed to be windy in Regina today.
  11. Brohm is a career back up with little upside, I'll be happy if the Bombers help out the Als by sending him there.
  12. Doesn't sound super impressive but who knows, maybe they're bringing him in for a cup of coffee and next year. When a jump ball is featured in your highlight package, you don't have much of a highlight package.
  13. Hopefully Cameron Marshall can surprise the Riders, sure looks like he has the power to break tackles.
  14. According to a CFL source, the Blue and Gold have agreed to terms with pivot Dominique Davis, who was in training camp with the Calgary Stampeders this month. Winnipeg already has four quarterbacks under contract: Drew Willy, Brian Brohm and Robert Marve are active for Saturday?s season opener against the Saskatchewan Roughriders, and Josh Portis is on the one game injured list but healthy enough to play. Davis, who is 6-foot-3 and 210 pounds, completed nine of 10 attempts for 75 yards and a touchdown in Calgary?s first pre-season game. He also had three carries for 11 yards. The 25-year-old played at Boston College, Fort Scott Community College and East Carolina before signing with the Atlanta Falcons and spending two years in the NFL. He tried to latch on with the Tennessee Titans and Indianapolis Colts last season but didn?t last long with either club. http://www.winnipegsun.com/2015/06/26/winnipegger-nic-demksis-gone-all-green-now-that-hes-with-roughriders
  15. It all depends on how the D plays (typical), because I don't think the changes made to the offence are enough to slant the field in the Bombers favour. I expect Chungh to be heavily tested by Chick. If they take the same offensive plan from last season into this game, they are basically planning to fail. Hopefully the running attack can put up 150 yards and establish itself as a dangerous weapon in the Bomber arsenal.

  18. I think the break down of players per team went something like this. CGY 7 EDM. 7 SASK. 7 HAM. 6 MTL. 6 TOR. 6 B.C. 6 WPG. 5 OTT. 5 I only see 4 Winnipeg players on the list, and Bryant didn't even play for Winnipeg last year...so..... That's 55 players you've added up. When did you move to Saskatchewan? Calgary, Edmonton and Saskatchewan - 7 each Hamilton and Montreal - 6 each Toronto and BC - 5 each Winnipeg - 4 Ottawa - 3 I was never too goode with the maths stuff.
  19. The more worrisome aspect of that story is how this guy was basically apprehended off the street and convicted for stating his opinion. Might sound okay if you don't agree with his opinion but consider that some day you could be apprehended and charged for stating an equally unpopular opinion.

  21. Totally pisses me off that they come to Canada to improve their lives and yet they carry their ancient tribal feuds along with them in a suitcase.

  23. Yeah but do you think he had an honest shot at making the team? Yes I do because I think the Bomber brass were a little concerned about Lirim's punting coming into this season since he would be the only kicker on the roster. But Lirim's punting in TC and the last preseason game were excellent and probably put any concerns to rest. But I recall last season while his FGs and kickoffs were very good, his punting was occasionally less than stellar. Now the American dude would have had to be the second coming of Patrick err I mean Swayze Waters to make the team, but his punting was very good in the first preseason game. Worth a look if nothing else. Would have been nice if Yantz got a couple reps in the games so I get where he is coming from. But as it's been pointed out, who knows how he was with the playbook or meetings or whatever. If he wasn't going to get a fair shake, I'd have rather they brought someone else in to push Portis, who hasn't impressed that much either so far. It's all a moot point though if Willy, Marve and Brohm stay healthy during the season. Later in the season I'm sure they'll bring in another QB to look at. Best of luck to Yantz wherever he goes. Sounds like he is apprenticing to be an electrician, probably back home in Sask.
  24. Doesn't show a lot of confidence in either Sherman or Newman to play S. if they insert Shell ahead of them. Just what the Bombers need, more pissed off Canucks.
  25. I imagine signing a 3 year contract and the conversation around that could have given Yantz the false impression that he would at least make the PR and be given the opportunity to develop further.
