  1. I guess Yantz should have stolen reps. like Johnny Adams did. It seems like this was PR blunder that could have been averted through better communication and planning especially if it was intended to be a "feel-good" story from the start. Once the FreeP and CJOB spread this story the majority of Bomber fans are going to see this as they portray it which is not favourable to the Bombers cause.
  2. They will never part with their fortunes. Which is crazy because you ain't taking it with you.The rich don't often make it to heaven. I'm also very tired of the rich celebrities telling normal people how to live. ......like celebrities know anything worth while........if a celebrity told you something, it's probably evil. As opposed to what government, the media or mufti-national corporations tell you?
  3. Apparently Roosevelt was very impressive in TC.
  4. Is the Shark Club in Winnipeg as ****** baggy as in Calgary? Baggy? What the hell does "baggy" mean? 1. Too many old bags in this joint. 2. Girls are so young, this place smells like sh*tty diapers. 3. The Legion was full of old baggy men in old baggy clothing.. 4. Doesn't anybody own a belt anymore? 5. Going back in so I can bag me some more. Please help.
  5. For the most part hospitals in the U.S. are private businesses owned by corporations, regulated by government but paid for by insurance companies through health claims. In regard to the cost of health-care there is an obscene stat. that states that 85% of life time health-care costs are incurred within the last 5 years of a persons life. By the time people reach that age destination very few would have sufficient funds to "pay as you go".
  6. I didn't notice his number, just his girth. He makes McCallum look like a gazelle.
  7. Problem is if the status quo remains through to the end of the season Marve is gone and the Bombers are stuck with a 31 year old career backup.
  8. Brad Mikoluff #74. He still has eligibility for the Rifles, so if the Bombers like him, they can keep him as a non-counter all year. He is able to practise with the Bombers and play with the Rifles. It's a nice insurance deal for the Bombers because if they need a punter in a pinch, they can sign and dress him and he already knows the playbook, the players, and the coaches. This is a special deal open to all CJFL players who didn't play CIS. Each CFL team can have up to 4 local junior players in camp under this program. I suspect that the Bombers will keep both Mikoluff and Braedy Will around this year. Self edit: If he does dress for a regular season game, he loses the special status. At that point he would have to sign a contract and be a "counter". Not the camera adding 10 pounds - that guy looked THICK. If other teams try to block one of his punts he could/should go all Nelson Munz on them. I honestly thought that was a picture of Stan Mikawos.
  9. At his age it seems like a regressive move, unless he can be expected to instruct the starters on playing the position better.
  10. I suspect they will have plenty of opportunity to do this in their first five games but doubt that they will.
  11. CFL News @CFL_News #RedBlacks sign national wide receiver @Pierzchalski18, recent cut of #Riders. Looked good in training camp, young & promising. #CFL
  12. One thing that has not been mentioned is that any QB standing in the pocket and than choosing to escape from a standing start can rarely escape a DE bearing down on him with full momentum. Close your eyes and imagine Willy in this scenario, it happened a lot in 2014.
  13. You make some good points but this isn't always the case and really doesn't explain how Collaros managed to succeed in T.O. and doesn't relate to how he currently plays the game. His first game last season against Edm. or Cgy. was the only game in which he tried to operate from the pocket and he ended up being concussed after being hammered all game long. When he came back Austin made adjustments to allow him to move and he has demonstrated how effective a non-pocket passer can be in the CFL if provided the support.
  14. Right on, one of the biggest problems with Greece is that the Greeks don't want to pay any taxes and will do anything to avoid them. Big hurdle to get people to "buy in" to essential steps neccessary to improve their society as a whole when their culture has always been, dog eat dog. Canada is not immune to this problem as detailed in the following story. One of the wealthiest neighbourhoods in Canada located in Richmond also ranks high on the poverty index due to unreported income. Wouldn't have anything to do with 6 out of 10 Richmond residents being born in countries other than Canada, would it? http://www.nationalpost.com/m/wp/news/blog.html?b=news.nationalpost.com/news/canada/why-is-richmond-neighbourhood-with-many-expensive-mansions-also-one-of-the-citys-poorest&pubdate=2015-06-15
  15. What...with their wacky discoball music, who can blame him!
  16. Wow, fair to say that Vega's 2014 performance did not impress anyone in the league. Big news last year P.R. this year.
  17. No, you got that right but don't know if that was the reason he was cut. Probably just got beat out by someone with more versatility. Would be a great temp. fill in for Stoudermire but nothing more. Not sure about that. Sanders released then they signed Tim Brown who is 4 years older Tim Brown is sitting on the Stamps PR, I'd take him over Saunders.
  18. Wasn't he one of the players with definite NFL prospects?
  19. It's almost like Marve knew he shouldn't sign a contract extension because he knew his style's wrong for our HC. That's a good point but I think it's more likely that Marcel doesn't know what to do with Marve. It's analogous to a trainer having to work with a wild mustang when he's more comfortable working with thoroughbreds. Could be a control issue of "who's the boss" in that on a designated play a certain receiver is "supposed" to get the ball, were Marve''s game is more suited to "there's an open receiver, here's the ball" or often, "there's room to run, bye-bye". Marve plays in the moment so he will be difficult to program but much like Flutie and Collaros that is probably the way he has always found success in football. Unless a head-coach or O.C. has complete trust in this type of QB to succeed, there is going to be a fair bit of head-butting going on. This is pretty much what happened to Flutie in Buffalo when they kept trying to over-ride his on-field success by replacing him with the more programmable Rob Johnson. Coach's prefer to work with predictable systems although football is an inherently chaotic game.
  20. In most cases you will find that poor people reside in areas where the earth is also poor. The kings of Saudi Arabia were nomads that lived in tents before the discovery of oil. In Canada we are incredibly lucky to have a small population and vast natural resources to exploit.
  21. No, you got that right but don't know if that was the reason he was cut. Probably just got beat out by someone with more versatility. Would be a great temp. fill in for Stoudermire but nothing more.
  22. With the addition of Jamel Richardson all 5 of the Riders receivers are 30+....tick, tick, tick....KABOOM!
  23. Darrell Romuld (CTV) @CTVDarrell Riders GM Brendan Taman says Alex Pierzchalski was offered a Practice Roster spot but declined; wishes him luck.
  24. If true, that would be weak sauce on MB's part. One of the most effective backup situations, is when the #2 can throw defenses, a change up. If Marcel could or would not "change a lot of things" simply because of different styles of QB (which many other teams have handled in the past)........then we need another OC, here. Just because Marve is "#3" doesn't mean he can't come into games as a change of pace QB. I think we will see Marve more this season than the last. Unless O'Shea has changed his mindset from last year the only way #3 gets game time is if #1 and #2 are knocked out. I don't see an indication that O'Shea has advanced his strategic thinking on this so I expect we will see the same plan this year.
