  1. Oh good. O'Shea is bringing Howard back in to RG just in time for the Odell Willis's somersault parade. Secretly O'Shea has a death wish for Drew Willy cause he's a red headed step child.
  2. Great comeback by the Argos! RR comes alive.
  3. Woodson looks like he's developed into an exciting player. Who did the Bomber's get for him?
  4. Turns out Collaros is a pretty decent QB after-all.
  5. Ricky Ray seems to save his best games for the Bombers.
  6. Good or bad sounds like an ideal Etch selection for MLB.
  7. Have you watched him play? He's a poor running back. Decent receiver though. I'd start Grisby ahead of Romby. I wouldn't go that far, however, I think the Bombers should seriously consider converting Grigsby to receiver over the offseason. He's average at best as a RB but he could be a dynamic receiver if he was able to make the transition. A young Jamel Richardson in the making. It would take some work and carries some risk but the payoff could be huge. If you'll notice most of Grigsby's catches are made when no one is covering him. Not sure he would be a good route runner or be able to catch the ball in traffic. He'd probably do well with YAC though. Grigsby has talent and I believe he is a valuable commodity, just need to find the best way to make use of that talent. He might just turn out to be a Durie with the wrong passport. I've been waiting all year for Cotton to be given an honest chance to showcase the success he exhibited in the pre-season but at this point running under Marcel's orchestration I highly doubt he will be able to accomplish much more than Grigsby. Hard to prove a RB's worth on 5-10 carries per game but here's hoping he grabs the ball and runs with it, I predict this is his last chance.
  8. I liked the article and the subject matter. Very impressive what an 11 year old mind can conceive but even more impressive when he follows through on the plan. Can't say a bad word about Turner when compared with the dregs that haunt us now.

  10. I disagree. This is already a competitive team and when healthy maybe even a decent team. What we need more than anything is depth so that losing a player like Moore or Wild doesn't leave the team without adequate players in those positions. Sure there's some places that could use upgrades, but to suggest that this team isn't competitive already is just ludicrous. They have been competitive in almost every game they've played this season. If we add 4 or 5 difference makers we're one of the best teams in the league. Or is that what you mean by competitive? Being one of the best is the only way to be competitive? Cause that's equally ridiculous. If you consider being in most of the games competitive, I guess we're competitive, but I don't look at it that way. I call top half of the league competitive and I sincerely doubt we will be there at the end of the season. Winning more than you lose is competitive, losing more than you win isn't. Losing 8 out of 9 games isn't competitive. We were great in the first third of the season, competitive for the first half of the season, but we aren't anymore and we're still trending downward. 4 or 5 upgraded players won't get us to top spot in the league. It will put us in the top half, which is where we need to be to not only make the playoffs, but have a chance of winning it all. In retrospect were the Bombers are now is very similar to were the Esks. were last year, especially when comparing Willy to Reilly. The Esks. came close in a lot of games last year but ultimately finished with a 4-14 record with two of those being V's against Wpg. That got their H.C. fired but they have played very well this year in general. Hopefully the Bombers trend is the similar.
  11. I agree, O'Shea can criticize specific aspects of the team without naming names when they under-perform instead of deflecting as he does. I like Chamblin's no-nonsense approach with fans, players and media alike, he is brutally honest, straight forward and doesn't throw players under the bus. He does bench players though so he makes clear there are consequences for poor play. If you watched the RR/Stamps game after he pulled Doege, Chamblin had a face to face with him from about 6" embracing him with his hands on his shoulder and helmet as he would a son. He wasn't yelling at him but actually speaking directly to him though words and his eyes. To me that shows ultimate accountability. Isn't chamblin also the guy that bans the media from attending practices? you think that would fly here? LOL. For every good that one coach on another team does, there are equally as bad things he does and if he was coaching here, the fans would rip him a new one too. Maybe worse even, Chamblins coaching pretty much lead the riders to lose a few games earlier in the season they shouldn't have also and you can even say that not playing sunseri the entire game vs calgary was a coaching mistake. The kid looked good that game. What if he played the entire game? Perhaps sask would have won? I wasn't comparing coaching results just different styles of communication. So what are you really saying? That all coaches should communicate the way YOU want them to? or they should all communicate the same no matter what? Or that definitely one method of communication is better than the others because you think it is? IMO O'Shea obfuscates the problems the Bombers are currently facing and in doing so he treats both the fans and the media like they couldn't possibly have any understanding of football (shades of Kelly) or that it's none of our business (a deeper shade of Kelly). I have no idea of how he communicates with his players because as much as I've tried they still won't let me sit in the locker room.
  12. short kick, he picked it up and kicked it back down the field. At the end of the half I guess. Maybe they were trying to catch them off guard or something, lots of players onside at that point. Thanks. Guess I was out of it by that time in more ways than one.

  15. As I understand it Etch does not emphasize fundamentals like tackling, he's more into the overall schematic and believes players should have the fundamentals down pat by this point in their career. Doesn't look like a football player, he looks more like like a pharmacist. Did he ever play?
  16. Just checked the game stats, says Volny punted once for 42 yards. Somehow I missed that, can anyone enlighten me as to when that play happened?
  17. I agree with the highlighted part of your post. I think O'Shea sees himself as one of the guys so it's going to be hard for him to send his buddies down the road with an apple when they under-perform. O'Shea has the "Daddy complex" and I'm not sure his personality is tough enough to morph into becoming the villain of his own children.
  18. Do we have anyone we'd be willing to trade who could fetch us anything close to a first? Willy might get them a first rounder.
  19. I disagree, the Bombers didn't get 3 pts. from a FG and Ottawa scrimmaged at the 40 and drove the field for a TD. That's a 10 pt. swing....right before the half.
  20. I noticed no Good/Bad separation here. Not surprised. Total brain cramp by MOS on the 3rd and 5. He said in the post game interview he didn't think Lirim could kick a FG into the wind like that. Okay seems like a decent answer only one thing missing - we have a punter, his name his Lirim. I've seen a lot of games in my lifetime and I would not put the wind in this one in the top 100. Was it that bad he could not punt the ball? Maybe a handfull of games have punters been told to not punt due to wind. Stunningly bad decision on O'Shea's part. On what does he base his faith the Bomber O can gamble on 3rd and 5 and succeed? Is it they're precision in the redzone or their 2-point conversion success rate of 0-52!
  21. Etch doesn't need to be fired, O'Shea just has to put his foot on his throat until he sees the light. Etch has done a number of good things, he's built a great D-backfield and he's done well developing Natl. talent. His D is designed to swarm to the ball and this approach works great when the Bombers have a comfortable lead or when playing against a team without a good running attack. Unfortunately the Bombers never have a lead and every other team is now game planning to run the ball straight up his yazoo!
  22. Isn't that a tweet from 2 or 3 weeks ago?
  23. Interesting opinion. http://calgary.ctvnews.ca/video?binId=1.1201969 In other Stamps news Quincy Butler deported. http://calgary.ctvnews.ca/stamps-db-quincy-butler-no-longer-eligible-to-work-in-canada-1.2036100
  24. I dunno, I personally don't associate the average parka clad Grey Cup goer with cutting edge cool even if it plays out under a dome. I've been to 4 of the frosty parties and can't do better than resurrecting Trooper for one more kick at the can before they kick the bucket. "We're here for a good time".....you fookin bet we are and Justin Bieber is shiiiite!
  25. With a little bit more sober second thought I bet O'Shea sticks with the coordinators he's got next year. Unless there is friction behind the scenes that we know nothing about can't see him turfing any of "his guys". He defends his players to the nth degree so I don't see him taking a different approach with his coaching staff. Doubt the discussion will even be raised in the off-season but if it was this is what he might say. "We're on track and making incremental progress, team improved significantly this season and will continue to do so next year."
