For me the wild card teams are B.C. and Mtl. I find it hard to believe Wally would be foolish enough to put all of his eggs in the fragile "Lulay basket". With Tedford's NFL connections and Wally's past history of finding good QB prospects, I'm still expecting a surprise announcement any day now.... As far as the East goes it's always a crap shoot but I think Hamilton will be on track from the start of the season and will finish well ahead of the other three. Losing Lefevour to Mtl. however could throw a wrench into their gearbox if Collaros goes down. Masoli at this point is not reliable enough to carry the torch and seems to be easily rattled. The Argos as far as I can tell have done little this off-season to improve their roster so I'm predicting a third place finish due to the inevitable decline of Ricky Ray's ability to shred defences. ORB's will miss the playoffs so that they can happily fire Desjardin and start all over again.

White Cop Shoots Black Man, Charged With Murder

So breaking a law... any law is cause for you to be shot dead. Thats just nuts. Steal a car and yup a cop can kill you. Have a warrant for unpaid child support and yup cops can shoot you dead. Steal some **** from a store and cops show up and person runs... shoot them dead. Awesome. Not sure what point you're trying to make but clearly the system is broken and everybody knows it. "Research found 41 police officers in the U.S. were charged with murder or manslaughter between 2005 and 2011. In the same time period, the FBI recorded several thousand justifiable homicides." This quote is taken from the following article. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-30339943 Basically if there's no video evidence there is likely no conviction. The courts accept the police explanations even when there is eye-witnesses testimony contradicting it. -
White Cop Shoots Black Man, Charged With Murder

The danger to the cop and or community was over. If there was any in the first place. He cannot discharge his weapon in this case. Its against the law and its cold blooded murder. Now if this guy had just killed someone and this all went down then yes he can pull his gun and discharge it. But this was not the case. This was a simple traffic stop that a guy with a warrant freaked out and ran away... cop gives chase and a tussle happens a tazer is used and the guy runs away. The danger is over and the cop cannot get up and pull his gun and shoot the guy dead. Thats called murder. The point of the guy running away it was the cops job to report the guy ran and that he had his ID and a passenger in the car he stopped and ask for backup. Like ive asked. Ever watch cops on TV? LOL They never just start shooting people that fight n run. That's because they are aware there is a TV camera following them. Hard to say that none of the other 300 plus shootings this year alone that weren't caught on camera didn't go down the same way. You have got to be kidding. So thats the way the law works? On film or not on film determans how the law comes into play? I wont shot a guy running cuz im on film. Yet if there was no film id shoot the prick dead. The law is the law and no cop can ever ever ever pull his gun and just shoot anyone. That aint the way it works. An imminent danger needs to happen..... Like during a fight and the guys going for a weapon......The guy just killed other people or a person.... Or he pulls a weapon. None of that happened. The guy just ran away. This stupid cop had no clue about that guy. He new he had no insurance for the car but was told a reason why. He had no clue of anything else. The way the law is "supposed" to work and the way it works are too different animals. Seems pretty naive to believe police forces the world round don't administer their own system of justice in specific circumstances. There are literally millions of examples of this behaviour from bribery to beatings, rape to robbery to draw on. If you asked around amongst close family and friends you could probably uncover a few examples for yourself. Not saying all police officers bend the law but a great many will and do when given the opportunity. After-all they're only human and the mechanism to cover their tracks with the encouragement and assistance of brethren is empowering. -

I wouldn't be surprised if criminal charges don't stick to him; the Rodney King cops were acquitted. Possibly, but I think after the Ferguson nightmare the public relations game has changed significantly. -

Don't see this killing as racially based per-sea, more of a case of dumb is as dumb does. Scott must have had a death wish to attempt to escape from an armed police officer way down yonder in Dixie. The reputation for extreme violence in the American south is well earned and wholly deserved. It would take significantly less than 8 shots to convince me to embrace old Mother Earth toot sweet, especially if my best recorded 40 was 9.86 circa. 1975. Because of the video and the scrutiny this case has received no doubt the officer is going to pay for his negligence of duty to the full extent of the law. Charleston and their police force will be in maximum damage control mode from this point forward trying to avoid further scrutiny. Not likely to help their cause as they've already been convicted in the court of public opinion. -
White Cop Shoots Black Man, Charged With Murder

Something really odd about these videos other than the fact that a middle aged white man appears to have run down a middle aged black man with a good head start. The spacing of the second video suggests the victim either stopped running or the cop caught up to him at which time a physical altercation may have occurred. Notice how the cop is clutching the back of his head as he approaches the downed victim. The following video has better audio than the first I posted of the dash-cam. The initial exchange is clear and you can also pick up bits of the audio of the chase and altercation although it's fuzzy "commands" can be heard. My take is that the guy initially bolted from the scene, assaulted the officer or at least refused arrest and than fled a second time. I think the officer is unlikely to be convicted of murder in this case. -
Salary cap concerns would be the reason they might release him. Salary cap concerns would be the reason they might release him. Salary is about the only reason they couldn't trade Morely but if he is released I believe he will be scooped up as there are many teams that could use his depth. I hope he can remain a Bomber till the end, he has served them well.

Here is the video released from the dash-cam of the police car. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nmlbnrFa_B0 From this video it looks like a standard traffic stop until the guy takes off running. Apparently car was not his, not registered and not insured. Real issue was that he had warrants out for his arrest and thus he decided to make a run for it. Big mistake. Notice his brother in the passenger seat is well aware of the "law of the land" and stays put even after his brother is shot. White, black or yellow the cops down there generally give one warning to obey and if that order is not followed bullets are likely to fly. Excess force is standard operating procedure. This event is nothing more than an everyday occurrence in the "land of the free" but one of the few caught by video. To date the number of civilians killed by police officers in 2015 stands at 319. To put it in perspective that is more fatalities than England has produced in 100 plus years of police/public interactions gone bad. http://killedbypolice.net/ -
It's high time they cut this guy.

They shoot horses, don't they?

Looks like Zebrie Sanders was just following instructions on that play. Apparently the strategy of remaining in your stance is not that unusual in College ball when the D jumps off side. Unfortunately his line-mates failed him. Example

Can we please take a vacation from Rider fans on vacation
Fatty Liver replied to B-F-F-C's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
This. I live in a Rider heavy area and I just don't engage (for the most part ). No desire to feed their egos further and make me look small and bitter. Besides if they feel the need to rock all their Rider gear in far off places around the world, doesn't that come off as attention seeking and insecure? If so then I say carry on Rider fans. Nothing could clearly identify them more as "hicks" than wearing that garb poolside in Barbados. The Beverly Hillbillies move to Gilligan's Island. -

For some odd reason that first paragraph reminded me of a Penthouse Forum letter....obviously I was disappointed with the climax of the story. -
Starting March 30th Telus will begin to charge for over-usage of their "unlimited Internet" customers who download more than their plan quota of data which can range anywhere from 30-500 GB/mth. depending on the plan a customer is signed up for. No idea how much data is involved in streaming a single CFL game but it makes me quite nervous and I expect the other national ISP's will follow their lead in screwing Canadians over once a new A-hole has been probed and established.

Those are actually wood boilers and there are 3 manufacturers of them in Manitoba. Not usually allowed in cities or towns but great for acreages.

Good point, if Bryant gets seriously injured I'm not sure this O-line will do much better than last years edition. An upgrade at Center is great but it's not going to help them much out on the wings.

That would be some damn good advice. I was lucky enough to by my house in 2007, and not long after that the housing prices in Winnipeg really took off. Not the nicest place but it's in a great neighborhood (Portage/Ferry area, south side of Portage). Now, after a little bit of work the house couldn't possibly go for less than 180k if it hit the market. I can remember feeling gouged when I paid 91k. Had no idea how lucky I really was. My brother is buying his first home now, same area roughly but north of Ness. He has to borrow from my folks to get the 10% minimum he needs for CMHC. He's lucky to have that luxury, I have no idea how the next generation of home buyers are going to make it work, especially if their parents can't help them out. Truth be told the value of your asset has probably only increased in "real value" 5-10% during that time period if at all. The degradation of the currency by printing non-stop bank notes is the main cause for the staggering inflation in house prices. It's a classic bubble scenario. As for the next generation of home buyers, salaries should have doubled or even tripled in the same time period to match the currency devaluation but in fact they have been falling in real purchasing power since the early seventies. They just need to convince their bosses to pay them in gold or platinum rather than paper and they should be okay.

Wiziwig the biggest sports streaming site was officially shut down on Jan. 1 2015 by the mufti-national powers who wish to control the Internet. Thus eliminating the best option for live streaming CFL games over the Net. I have no use for television but if TSN is included in the "skinny" package I might have to sign up for the duration of the football season.

Just remember that the real estate bubble has already burst in the US, and has yet to pop in Canada....but it inevitably will.

It can start with one chief who recognizes the cycle and has the cooperation from his band council to implement the changes necessary to break it. Too many chiefs are filling their pockets and failing their people.

You know what,I'll take a stand and say residential schools were a not terrible idea that was just handled really poorly. Should a just assimilated everyone from the start then there'd be a lot less problems with reserves Clearly, you're not too familiar with the stated aim of the Residential Schools either. Their primary purpose was to eradicate First Nations culture, to get rid of "indians" once and for all. Explain to me how that can ever be "not a terrible idea"?Because assimilation is not a bad thing. Could have had just a whole bunch of Canadians rather than the government protected racism that currently exists. Signing treaties hundreds of years ago was an easy solution at the time but they have long lasting negative effects that manifest themselves in this day and age Seems to me the best thing would be for people to stop being pieces of **** and treating people differently based on cultural background. Assimilation is just the people at the top saying "you should all be like me". It's like Nazi-ism lite. no assimilation isn't a one way street, it goes two ways. Stop separating people into different groups and we can just all be Canadian and treat everyone equally. Treaties however just make sure racism and different groups being treated differently continues to exist. You are trying to grossly oversimplify the situation. You can't say "just stop separating people into groups" when people naturally self-identify already. Furthermore, the treaties were a legal document. This wasn't a bill of sale for a used BBQ written on a napkin -- it was legal title to land we now live on, land that is now Canada. The government has a moral obligation as society built upon laws to uphold the treaties; or at least the spirit behind them. No I'm not over simplifying. This is how the problem gets solved. I know full well what the treaties that were signed were and what the intent was. The problem is that they are legal documents that are guaranteed by the constitution of this country, and that's a huge problem and the #1 reason why most of these problems exist. When they were signed it was seen as the easy solution, put the natives out of the way and throw them a few trinkets every now and then and let them live their traditional lifestyle. Problem is that in todays society it is a terrible solution and completely unworkable. The best solution IS to stop treating them differently and make them all Canadian and treat everyone equally. When you have such a skewed number of impoverished people on reserves it is safe to say that the system is broken, but where's the push to change a broken system? You even bring it up and you're labelled a racist. Too much blame gets thrown at the feet of the government of Canada and they're expected to fix it, but they can't fix it unilaterally, self determination and all that, so basically it's just "give us more money because residential schools! abuse! ugly history! white guilt!" It's those treaties that are holding things back. LOL Well that doesnt seem right. The natives are native to this land.... that about as Canadian as you can get. Do i have this right? The white man comes here and brings their traditions and pretty much just throws the natives and their traditions away and now you want to make them Canadian? Odd but alrighty then. The list of "peoples" that have been treated well and not violated by an invading conqueror is extremely short. Human history is a non-stop bloodbath from the apes on up and is likely doomed to carry forth until the last of the species perishes. Nature of the beast is pretty ugly when viewed through a politically corrected lens.

You know what,I'll take a stand and say residential schools were a not terrible idea that was just handled really poorly. Should a just assimilated everyone from the start then there'd be a lot less problems with reserves This is true. People back in the day were observing the same "Indian problem" we have to this very day, that is how best to make them into productive/happy citizens of Canada. Unfortunately the residential school solution was misguided and can now be judged in hindsight as an abject failure. Not sure evil intentions were what they had in mind at the time as they viewed the American solution of mass genocide with distaste. Because of common British roots the same residential school solution was tried in Australia and New Zealand with the aboriginal population with similar poor results. Finding workable solutions is not always as easy as identifying a perceived problem.

Forget Sheets, if the Bombers want to take a flyer on an old running back they can wait until Martell Malett kicks loose from the Stamps roster as they have about 7 imports competing at that position. Even better if Keith Toston ends up being cut. Regardless the Bombers need at least two import RB's on the game day roster this year and I pray to God that Marcel is smart enough to utilize both of them and not play favourites AGAIN!
