Blue Bombers - 2024 Regular Season - Discussion Thread
Fatty Liver replied to Noeller's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Question is would they have won if Brown was able to stay in the game, eventually he might have gotten on track and been able to outscore Castillo. -
Had high hopes for Cole but he's been mostly invisible for 4 games now, seems to have talent but not very consistent at applying it. Somebody is going to step in front of him and take his job if he can't establish himself as more than a role player.

I heard his passport expired, if he got it renewed in a couple of weeks, he did well. -
You guys are pointing the finger at the wrong culprits when it comes to overspending and salary, BA and Thomas aren't making a whole lot of money, their replacements would be aprox. $20-25k cheaper. Lunch pail Jake is working for lunch pail wages. The excess spending went to Zach, Brady, Lawler and Schoen, all other player salaries fall more or less within the league norm for the position they play.

They certainly did prior to 2019, every year since Hall's D has become more and more conservative, same goes for ST's.

I suppose if it was we will see a fine levied on the offending player sometime later today. -

Re-watch the play, what penalty are you expecting them to call? Maybe they could charge Dobson with fleeing the scene of an accident??? -

Could be his job was doing exactly what O'Shea told him to do, he was always within ear shot, without those instructions maybe he had little to contribute. -

Agree, he didn't look much improved over the guy that left in 2019. It's up to him to prove doubters wrong. -
I don't know if this is true but I heard DT talking about eating 8-10 hotdogs in a row, what in god's name would possess anyone to eat more than one?

Wonder what that's all about, can't just be on field performance Ti-Cats are pathetic all around and he's only been there a couple of months. Maybe Reinebold wants his job back. -
Walters should be impartial to player personalities, his job is to manage the player personnel within the given budget, when he re-signed Lawler to an excess contract for a receiver, he dropped the ball on fiscal management and it's been rolling down hill ever since. He made choices that sacrificed depth in key position playing for base rates to splash out on a couple pieces of bling and in doing so he upset the apple cart. He needs to rekindle his inner Wally Buono and accept that he is going to be feared by the players.

Caleb Evans once looked promising but he's been in the league 4 years now and done nothing.

Only way to escape it is thru a trade, not the worst idea ever conceived. -

The whole team rested on their laurels, even the veteran players have yet to accept that a multitude of teams have surpassed them in ability. They're still in denial that they are being outplayed and think it's somehow all going to fall into place one of these days. Staying on top is so difficult to balance, it's pretty much impossible. -

Zach's contract was restructured but not reduced due to underperforming like some other QB have been forced to accept, such as T. harris when he went to Mtl. from Edm. Zach is likely headed for a steep reduction in pay next season for this years performance, but if I was Walters I'd think long and hard about hitching my wagon to Zach even at a reduced cost, paying him less isn't going to miraculously make him a better QB. He's got about 6 more games to prove he still has the power of victory flowing through his veins. -

Hamilton is an amazingly bad football team for the talent they have on their roster, something is deeply wrong with that organization. -
Secondary targets is a good description for the receivers Collaros ignores, he was so focused on Demski and Woli, he would have kept throwing to them over and over again until they too end up injured.
-
As we've seen recently Collaros has a penchant to throw to familiar faces, despite the amount of time Agudosi spent on the club Zach never embraced him and rarely threw a ball his way. A QB should not pick favourites, he should be a vessel to move the ball efficiently through wherever it needs to go. By continually ignoring certain receivers Zach short-circuits Buck's game plan with diminished results.

If he can stay off the field long enough he might reach the status of Stove. -
If the Bombers are digging into their past I'd take Ellingson over Whitehead, smarter, more reliable, better possession receiver and bigger target, doesn't need to catch 40 yd. bombs just needs to secure first downs. If they don't want Ellingson, find someone else with those assets.

Trent Corney??? He played DE and quit on his own accord, do you disparage random names from the past just because you can recall them? Same with Malcolm Thompson, he won the Safety job out of TC and was moved on from for undisclosed reasons, but it wasn't his play.
