Shouldn't have to explain this but here we go. It's okay to call Glenn a lousy QB for playing a bad game but not Ray? How about considering that each individual player is just one component of a team and not solely responsible for wins or losses? Even if they are the QB they can only perform well if their teammates provide adequate support and in both of these games that was not the case.

O'Shea talks to you? Who are you his wife?

Blacks vs Cats and Rumpriders vs Boatmen

The Argos cut Ronmey Bryant....what does that say? -
The winning TD drive in the Montreal game? Safe to say that would've been a loss. Hey don't look now but the league's best QB is looking like **** in Sask. Ray's a bum!

Same with JFG and Kohlert.

Now I don't know which one to stare at. Jumping Jeehezus, reminds me of the reason I was put on this earth! Notice the two goofs on the right pointing at the wrong bird of paradise...what's a girl got to do to get a guys attention?

I'll give Grigsby credit as he was effective in the first half as an outlet receiver. I think what he lacks is creativity and that may be a result of having been away from the game for a few years or a skill that he just never had. Good backs make things happen, they see space and they find a way to get to it. Saw Grigsby go off in the wrong direction several times when I thought there was open space in other directions. None of the BB RB's have the power to make holes where none exist so it's dumb to keep trying it. The fact that he was repeatedly caught in the backfield off the hand-off in the second half is a failure of 3 individuals, himself, Willy and Marcel.

Don't care for "told you so" posts but to each his own. As for Kevin Glenn, I think he has proven time and again that if given the right situation he can be a very productive QB but it is very dependent upon the level of protection he is provided to operate. Last night the BC O-Line was porous so the results were predictable. Glenn is the "anti-Reilly" he's not going to be able to do much on his own but given good protection and good offencive weapons his ability to operate an offence at full throttle far exceeds Reilly's. Much like Calvillo in Mtl. who was just an average QB and wasn't having a H.O.F. career until Popp and Trestman built a team around him and most importantly an O-Line that protected him. I think if anything the 2014 season has shown that on any given day any QB out there can be reduced to utter ineffectiveness by a great defence. It's already happened to Durant and Ray on multiple occasions and dear Willy himself was rendered impotent against the EE's defence last week so Glenn is no exception. Did not realize Glenn was so short, at the end of the game when he was shaking hands with Willy it looked like he was a midget reaching up for a lollipop.

Biggest tragedy was cutting Ford without giving him a chance to show his stuff this year especially since he was the incumbent. I'm all for giving the ball to Cotton now as I believe he is the best of the three but you can't convince me that Grigsby was ever better than Ford. Ford was just as ineffective running inside but he was deadly when he got to the outside and he was also a great kick returner. Oh well.

Another video from the Bomber site showing the announcement with family in attendance. http://www.bluebombers.com/video/index/id/99573

Good Lord, I hope Geroy doesn't go near the booth or they'll blather on for a quarter and a half!

Okay on second view, picked up Cameron, Kennard, Asper, Joe Mack (of course) Mitch Zalnasky. Who's the dude in the gold suit?

You haven't been paying attention, have you. Here's the video of the announcement of the naming of the Bob Irving Media Centre in May, 2013: It still is. Thanks, I've never seen that before. Recognized Doug Brown, Tim Burke, Butchko, Brock Bulbuck...any other big names in that video?

I think Reilly's real weakness is that he's trying to win games on his own and often tries to make things happen when there's nothing there, forcing the play. In this way he's none too bright and unlikely to reach the level of Ray or Lulay as a premium CFL QB. This would explain his take no prisoners running style and his erratic throws into double coverage, he either puts immense pressure on himself to win games or he's carrying the entire load of the franchise and the fan-base on his shoulders. I see too much Buck in him to think he will ever lead his team to a Grey Cup victory.

Lawless: Trade Glenn January for Canadians
Fatty Liver replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
He's plagiarizing his own articles now. He used the exact same sentence with Cheveldayoff's name last month. Word for freaking word. So how does his average evening go? Does he back away from his laptop after writing this and think "Goshdarn I am so smart!"? "Watch me enlighten the masses!" Spending 2000 words stating the obvious doesn't make this any less stupid. It sets a new standard for stupid. Walters should also try and trade some beads and smallpox blankets for prime real estate if the opportunity presents itself. External considerations be damned. Yer on to him. He's got a boatload of these articles already written, he was just waiting impatiently for the Bombers to turn the corner into familiar territory, which is his comfort zone. -
I think Etch has to ease up on the blitzes a bit and cover the flats better against Harris and Logan. Can't send the house as much as they did against EE cause Glenn will be waiting for that and eat their lunch with quick passes. Show the blitz often but mostly drop off to traditional coverage until they don't expect it than charge! Leave Kuale back as he's too slow getting into the backfield anyway. Assign Wild or Sherman to spy Harris or Logan. This is a good test for O'Shea and his coaching staff, this game will reveal whether they are duds or diamonds. I'm really hoping Marcel has a workable solution to get the offence rolling, if not the party is over and they'll have to pick up the wins they can against Eastern bumbleheads.

Can't see getting much for January and if that's the case might as well keep him and upgrade the position when the opportunity presents itself, naturally. -
I believe Pat Delmonaco is destined to be..... the next......Bob Wylie!

He had time but Mitchell has happy feet like Willy now has. Willy has an excuse as the Bomber OL isn't as good as Calgary but Mitchell? He rarely gets sacked or even touched. Tonight he looked like he was having trouble finding open receivers. Probably because the Esks have very good downfield coverage and this is the reason Willy had so many 2 and outs last week. If there's nobody open it's kind of stupid to throw the ball and hope something good will happen. I think the best strategy in this situation is to follow the Argos with their dink and dunk timing routes. Very hard to defend against that offence once the QB and receivers get their timing down, it may not be pretty but it moves the ball. Marcel needs to adjust his game plan to be able to compete with the Western teams or his *ss will be in the hot seat next off-season.
-
Can't blame Willy for that. Willy may be the best passer in the West but he's going to have to start moving the pocket around to buy himself time. Time for Marcel to go back to school and come up with some variations to his game plan.
-
Both Jones and Craighead injured in this game..
-
Reilly makes some awful dangerous and dumb throws, he's not very good in regard to his decision making. Trying to do too much.
-
Calgary seems to be able to hold off the EE pass rush fairly effectively, maybe one or two sacks so far on Mitchell. Their O-Line seems to be light years ahead of the Bombers and they're playing with one rookie and two second year players and all three are Canucks!
-
I was thinking Reyn Davis but I guess he only covered the Jets, he was another great FreeP reporter.
-
No doubt but win or lose EE has proved they're for real. My confidence in the Bombers making the playoffs fair and square against the West is diminished but they're still going to catch the crossover.
