I don't really know if it's got anything to do with the constitution or if it's just the promotion and sale of weapons by a sector of the military industrial complex. As with most things it all stems from a love of $$$ over all else. Low prices and easy availability have made guns so common down there that it goes beyond any rhetoric about gun control. When 6 out of 10 adults have guns are you going to feel comfortable being one of the 4 that doesn't....I'm not so sure. Guns spawn guns and fear spawns fear. This is a good synopsis. http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/wonkblog/wp/2012/12/19/seven-facts-about-the-u-s-gun-industry/

Bomber Game 9 vs MTL on Youtube
Fatty Liver replied to USABomberfan's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
You tend to learn more about the Bomber's talent from watching the bad stuff than watching the good stuff. -
Not really, it can't be denied that there is a lot of financial opportunity provided by the oil and gas industry in AB.and they give golden opportunities to real ham and eggers who would be near bottom of their class in high school. In my time in AB. I must have met hundreds of of people who migrated to Calgary and worked their way into plus $100,000 salaries with ungodly benefits but when you got talking to them you couldn't help but be unimpressed with their work history or their intellect. They're one redeeming virtue was that they were pluggers who got in on the ground floor of a company and kept showing up 5 days a week. The salary structure in that industry is so out of whack that if you're not making over $80,000 after 5 years you're name must be Stephen Harper. Not to say there are not bright lights in the upper echelons of these companies because that's the typical progression but for the most part everything below is chock full of pluggers.....make that well-to-do pluggers.

Argos Release Johnson, Sinkfield and Dwight Anderson

Cuz corporate boxes are generally filled with people who don't give a **** about the sporting event that's going on down below. -
Your friend watches too much TV and/or movies. Police are trained to shoot at the torso. In real life, no one has the accuracy to shoot at such a small area in a situation like this - especially if either or both people are moving. No policemen are trained to shoot for the leg... The reason the police shoot is to stop the threat immediately. So they aim dead straight in the middle of the chest. Highest % of stopping the threat. When I went to shoot some guns it was quite difficult for me to get a head shot. With a moving part, different elevations and the fact that you rarelyhave time to aim its nearly impossible to hit a leg by choice I lived in Oklahoma for 5 years as a student and found the "gun culture" to be a real eye-opener, we have nothing like it in Canada. One thing I know is down there if the police tell you to put up your hands or drop a weapon they're only going to tell you once. After that you're dead, doesn't matter whether you're black, white or purple.

Here's O'Shea's take on Willy's injury from the FreeP. Asked if witnessing his starting QB go down led to an ‘Oh crap…’ moment, O’Shea said: "I wish I was that polite. It’s practice. Things happen in practice. I’m glad he’s feeling better or will be fine. But, yeah, there’s a moment there where you assess the situation and I’m trying to run through my head what we would normally do because I don’t normally differentiate between quarterbacks and anybody else… but I realize now I probably have to. "There was a part of me that said, ‘Move the drill (keep going from a different spot away from the injured player) because that’s what you do as a defensive guy. I’ve heard that so many times. And then you realize, ‘Hey, that’s your starting quarterback.’ "I wandered over. I took a look. The finger was still attached, so…"

Alex Hall and Linden Gaydosh released by Panthers

Other NFL teams. Is he eligible for a P.R. position down there? -
Still a couple of days of healing available before game day so some of these guys might be good to go on Sunday.

Hmmmm...no word yet on Hall signing with any CFL teams. What are his other options? -
"Maybe" or "of course not". Either answer could be right.
-
Stoudermire! The guy wouldn't even know any of the plays. What do you expect him to do?
-
Asking for trouble going into a game like this without a viable backup to Grigsby imo. Things are not shaping up as well as I'd hoped looks like with all the injuries the Bombers won't be able to field their best lineup.

I think it's Max Hall. Good gawd.

And well he should if the reports of the offer were true. Wouldn't help his team much if Dressler ran off at the end of the current season. That's one way of looking at it. However, one could also say Desjardins not in a great position to insist anything. Sign Dressler for the rest of the season and work on getting him signed for the next year and beyond. It's a given that Desjardins is insane but if he offered Dressler $250,000 for the remaining games this year with no commitment to next season he would need to be locked away for the benefit of all.

I think it will take O'Shea 3-4 more losses until he sees the need for improvement on the D-line, right now he's delusional. D-Line is not a major concern for the Bombers from where I'm sitting. O-line and National depth would be more pressing issues. Thanks. Tell us something we don't already know and haven't discussed ad-nauseum. Going to tell us where the BB are going to pick up some good Natl. O-linemen???? -
What's Kelsey's? a Saskatchewan fine dining experience Living in Calgary you would know all about mediocre dining experiences. IMHO of course. I've only been out here for a couple of years, but I'm still searching for a really mediocre greasy breakfast joint. All the places close to me are the type of restaurants that charge $12 for eggs and have huge lineups I lived in Calgary for 10 years and that city can't compare to the Wpg. for culinary experiences other than corporate chains and the upper end. Doesn't have 1/10th as many independent burger joints or greasy spoons. Closest I found to a good greasy spoon was the Deerhead Cafe low down on Edmonton Trail in the N.W. and it wasn't great. Husky serves up a mediocre breakfast as well but nothing to compare with the Red Top, Nick's in Headingly or the old Paladin. Did they ever re-build after the fire? Problem with Calgary imo is that it doesn't have any soul.

He's a free agent so no reason other teams shouldn't pursue him, hopefully Walters is making inquiries. -
I was thinking Ottawa will go after him if he springs loose but I think they'll get Matthews for a lot less than they offered Dressler, maybe $140,000 to $160,000 depending on how much of a fight the Bombers put up. Matthews has great potential but he doesn't have much of a track record so I doubt he's going to be offered top dollar. If the rumours that the Als are looking to move S.J. Green are true can't see why the ORBs wouldn't go after him. In reality he's a better receiver than Dressler.

well, if we are playing 3 imports on the OL, 1 import must sit... and it could be Cotton... I dont think Anderson, Unamba, Stoudermire, Kuale/Kromah will sit. IMO shouldn't be sitting Sears if he's healthy and they shouldn't be going into the game with out a backup for Grigsby, re: Cotton. Can't quite figure out why they would dress Unamba, other than special teams what does he do? I suspect the RR may play Messam and Allen and try to run the ball down the BB throat, would love to see Kromah and Kuale on the field at the same time to counteract the running attack.
