For all amateur whisky drinkers there is but one guiding light. Ralfy! Prepare to meet the master. https://www.youtube.com/user/ralfystuff I spent the better part of a year following this sage man's advice until my wife said. "No more Ralfy". Sometimes I miss that wife.

Who said the run is not a problem?
Fatty Liver replied to Maudie fingerjammer's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
That is the ultimate test... best RB and best o line in the league I say the Bombers treat those games as tryout camps and don't send any of their valuable assets which could be be injured in the beating. Hope I'm wrong. -
How long is Fraser out? Can't even remember what injury he has.

I've gotta figure out how to use AdBlocker to block people in the game day chat. or.. the mods could just give a temporary ban to those handful of people maybe for 24 hours, the day of the game so they can't ruin it for the rest of us. I don't come on to chat often for that very reason. It's the usual suspects over and over again so not sure why it wouldn't be warranted. I understand the site seems to be against banning people but.. temporary bans just so the folks who actually want to talk football during the game on chat can actually talk football on there without the usual suspects throwing in their pointless 2 cents every 10 seconds. If any mod wants to know which guys it were, you probably got about 15 of us who can tell you who those i'm gonna say 2 were. The op was one, the other.. think everyone knows who that was. I love you like Dora the Explorer loves Maps, I love you like the popes toilet loves Holy Craps I'm Offensive and Creative like Handicapped Porn A girl's like a fridge, once a week you should Stock (stalk) it... Ohhhh Words to live by, or what?

Who said the run is not a problem?
Fatty Liver replied to Maudie fingerjammer's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
You are completely wrong. Look at where the Riders points came from in both games in Winnipeg. Offence didn't put up enough points in the first game and gave up 2 direct TDs, special teams did the same yesterday. If the O and ST don't hand the Riders points, both games in Winnipeg are easy Bomber wins even with 200 rushing yards against. When a team has a big lead their approach to the game changes. The only number that matters is the final score. But that big lead didn't come from the Riders offense, it came from special teams.... The Bombers won the battle on offense and defense yesterday, they just lost the special teams battle in a very lopsided manner. A win is a win, but when dissecting why a loss was a loss you can delve deeper into it than simply the final score. Let me ask you this, as a Rider fan were you pleased with the way the Riders offense played? Yes. Why? Because they controlled the game on the ground and protected the lead in the second half even while losing their starting QB (who was 8 for 9 passing at that point). but they didn't protect the lead... the lead kept shrinking on them in the 2nd half and the only reason they had the lead to start with was because of the special teams plays... I'll point it out again, the Riders offense twice had chances to make first downs late to take time off the clock and twice they failed to do so giving the Bombers chances to win the game again. The Riders defense did more to keep the lead than the offense did. You are looking at the offense from the standpoint of "we won so it all worked out" which is flawed. You have to ignore the final score to properly look at how things went. The alarm bells will only ring for the RR fanbase when Calgary punts them by a large margin. Of course they will blame it all on DD's injury. -
Sears is not a LB he is a DB. Playing him like he is a LB is what keeps returning him to the I.R. O-line is getting better with the install of J. Jones but transitioning to an all-Canadian O-line is going to take a few years. Swiston and Hinse have to step up or they'll be out on the street along with the other long serving Canadian O-lineman cut earlier this year (who's name I've already forgotten).

Should We Load 8 Or 9 In The Box To Stuff Messam?
Fatty Liver replied to USABomberfan's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Well not according to O'Shea, not if they execute and cancel their gaps, their defence should be no more vulnerable than anyone else's, so that only leaves personnel not doing their jobs. Doug Brown would disagree with you on this point. On the post-game show he was quite explicit in pointing out that the players did not stand a chance of stopping the run due to Etch's unbalanced positioning. Prior to the snap the RB just has to look to see which side of the line is loaded and go the other way. Later this season the number of losses attributed to this defect will be tallied and pinned to Etch's behind. Is it 2 and counting, or 3 and counting??? Again, we knew exactly what we were getting with Etch... starts strong, teams figure him out and he re-invents his D late in the season. We've been figured out. I remember reading an endless discussion about this on the Riders forum just after the Bombers hired Etch. Speculation ranged from a players revolt over schemes to Etch being reduced to the role of assistant DC. for the playoff games. Riders did well in both seasons he was their DC so it's hard to say if he makes adjustments himself or if he is always reigned in. It'd be nice if he showed a little wisdom in learning from past mistakes but there doesn't seem to be much evidence of that. Banjo Bowl is going to expose him to increased wrath if the D. is exploited in the same method especially if the Bombers lose. Looks like Etch failed another exam. Time for O'Shea to provide some special tutoring. -
Didn't see the game so can't really comment on anything other than the stats. Kuale 5 tackles, Kromah 1 tackle. Funny that CFL.ca does not list penalties.

Max Hall arrested for shoplifting and cocaine possession
Fatty Liver replied to Mr. Perfect's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I bet Max doesn't even know. One thing I've learned from alcoholism & drug addiction that seems to unfortunately run in my family is, some people are born with addictive personalities. I battled my addictions over the years.... I smoked 2 1/2 packs a day for two decades till I quit in 1996 for good. I weighed 310 lbs because I ate like it was my last meal & would snack nightly on chips & french onion dip, nachos, KFC, McDonalds at all hours, mostly at night when my wife was asleep. Then I'd shamefully bag up all the eaten goodies, walk out to the garbage & throw it away thinking she'd never know when she did. I remember asking myself why I did what I did & had no answer. It was like those addictions controlled me as I couldn't control them. And then I'd feel like absolute crap the next day being sick. I drank too much but wouldn't classify myself as an alcoholic but it was close. About the only thing I didn't do was drugs too much... Well, today I weigh 210 lbs, I don't smoke & I only drink occasionally. I haven't been drunk in years... But seeing my dad & uncles battle the bottle & with my demons, I think we were born with addictive personalities... That's my theory anyway. Congratulations on your victories. -
Not much fan noise at all, crowd seems pretty uninvolved in the game. Anyone hear the attendance number?

Should We Load 8 Or 9 In The Box To Stuff Messam?
Fatty Liver replied to USABomberfan's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Etch is assuming an offence is firing on all cylinders and they have built a good sized lead, which has not been the case this year even when the Bombers have won. -
I was 14 once. Can't recall but pretty sure I was never that young.

Blasphemy! This must be the house of the devil, I'm getting the hell out of here!

All joking aside I hope you don't take that sign out in public, some bad things could happen to you. We took it into the game and even the Rider fans thought it was hilarious. We put it away as soon as a woman who brought her young son with her asked us to though. Great, keep it classy. I'd suggest the same thing is going to happen at the Banjo Bowl but the lady might be a police officer or a burly father. Surprised the moderators let this image stand when they react so vigilantly to offencive language or spelling errors.

Still here! In the early going Willy was spreading the ball around and all of the receivers were looking good, including Kelly. In the last 5 or 6 games Willy has not demonstrated that ability and tends to concentrate on one receiver per game, probably his primary receiver. Therein lies the REAL problem with receivers who have not been productive. Willy seems to be getting half-decent protection from his O-line recently so not sure what is to blame for this change of course. our good friend Bob discusses some aspects of this in the following report. http://www.cfl.ca/article/irving-lots-to-shore-up-for-bombers-ahead-of-banjo-bowl If Willy has time and isn't throwing to receivers that means they ain't getting open, which has been the book on Kelly. Guy isn't good enough to get open consistently. Which is a hell of a thing because when you're 6'5 you're always open, that's how useless he's been. If you recall some of those great catches Kelly made early on he often wasn't open and sometimes in double coverage and he still managed to come up with the ball because Willy placed the ball perfectly. That's why those catches were so amazing. I think early in the season Willy had much better ball placement and I wonder if that first injury to his throwing hand wasn't the turning point for the decrease in throwing yards and accuracy. Romby has been open numerous times and he's not getting the ball either. Again, read Bob Irving's article and come up with a better explanation for the decreased offencive numbers because scapegoating doesn't work.

Do you think Kuale is good as well? Not many tackles, don't remember seeing him make too many plays, remember him going offside, but I can't say if he's doing what they want him to do. I guess you can only tell what the coach thinks by who plays, who doesn't play, and by what position players they bring in. have not brought in a linebacker yet. Kuale made 1 tackle last game....his mouth made way more. Looking at the game stats. for last week Willy matched Kuale's number of tackles at one each. As an added bonus Willy also played QB!

Excuse me but pirates are supposed to drink rum. Being on a tropical vacation is the only excuse for male rum consumption Oh no no no no no. Rum has got quite interesting in the last 10 years. Get into it a bit and your prejudice will be shaken, same with rye and bourbon. Very interesting research to be done if you're a sop.

Fatty Liver replied to Mr. Perfect's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
No mention of a needle and a spoon, I expect that might be an exaggeration of the facts. -
Can't disagree with that. Walker did not play in the second half. Ahh... then it would seem that Desjardins is to blame for thinking that Michael Hayes is CFL worthy. Walker had 6 yards on 4 carries in the first half and Hayes had 6 yards on 6 carries in the second. The panel was laughing about those numbers at half time. The RedBlacks O-line make the Bomber's look mighty in comparison.
