Blue Bombers - 2023 Regular Season - Discussion Thread
Fatty Liver replied to JCon's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Confirmed assistant general managers Ted Goveia and Danny McManus aren’t under contract for next season either, hopefully O'Shea didn't eat up too much of the pie. -
It should grind the Riders butts that they threw away the wrong guy.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention just for SpeedFlex27, Ambrosie intends to hang on as CFL Commissioner at least until after you're dead.
-
Hall has done pretty well since the Bombers flipped the ratio almost entirely to the offensive side of the ball a few years ago, with BOLO in for Schoen right now he has the luxury of playing with a single Natl., Redha Kramdi.

Tape of Ambrosie's State of the League address. https://www.cfl.ca/2023/11/14/110th-grey-cup-media-state-of-the-league/ Summary: The Atlantic Canada expansion is still in active discussion with a prominent individual, but it's to the point of fish or cut bait on that location. No mention at all of the Global program and whether progress is being made, or whether it will be soon be discontinued. The coaching cap will stay, as the league is satisfied with how it's helped control team spending on management salaries at the request of the CFLPA.

Hopefully Walters turns up in Hamilton this week and gets some face time with media to clarify his situation. -

I think you're right, didn't Duke get involved in an incident before that game when he swung his helmet at someone? -

LOL I almost feel sorry for Dickenson, he had no idea what was going on. "The boys seem to be having fun out there!" -

According to one member of Riderfans, Marshall was a full fledged Crip gang member with a NWA tattoo on his neck. I do recall some talk about him flashing gang hand signs at Duke Williams in the TD Atlantic game in 2022, the same incident when Williams "allegedly" spat on him. No surprise if Williams turns out to be a Blood I suppose. -

Disturbed they couldn't score when they were 1st and 10 at the Lions 3, that was critical "throat steppin time" and they failed to execute. The Als saw how the Lions shut down the running game and will duplicate with a stronger front 7, I would hope they leave Zach in until they're at the 1 yd. line next time, giving them more options than a Prukop or Brady run.

May or may not be significant, but according to CFL.ca transactions Rose has been moved to PR and not the 1 game IR along with Haba, whereas McGhee and Garbutt have been moved to the 1 game IR. This could just be a way to get a couple of PR players game day cheques, or it may be an indication that decisions have been made on who they want to bring back next season, as all PR players at the end of season become free agents. -

Can't really prepare for extreme noise effectively unless they practice in the Dome, as the practice field in Surrey is located in a residential neighbourhood. -

Here is the restaurant he's involved with, I think it's on the Red Mile. https://porchyyc.com/ -

It was Claybrooks decision to step away from the CFL, he took the payout from the Lions and went into business for himself, I believe he's invested in a restaurant and a cleaning business in Calgary. -

Can you imagine how boring that job would be compared to what he's doing now? Plus the budget would be miniscule, scouting and facilities inadequate and the bureaucracy and paperwork mind numbing. He's got what every GM craves, security within a winning organization plus the chance to become the longest serving GM in Bomber history. -

I half expect him to be ready to return sometime next August....along with Mike Miller. -

Don't see it happening, Wade knows what's best for the team and allowing Walters to walk away isn't something he would take as inevitable because of salary constraints. He'll retain him even if he has to use curvy math and manilla envelopes to make it work. -
Uncanny resemblance, one is a sexual predator, the other Dracula.

I agree they should have given Bo the start and let him know early in the week they were doing so to get the best out of him, throwing him into a game that's already over isn't going to lead to a heroic performance when he's stewing on the sidelines feeling he's wasting his time. Schiltz is also much better coming off the bench because it takes the pressure off him as a starter. I get that Steinauer is a nice guy, but I don't think he brings the fear factor or respect a coach like O'Shea carries, he's too diplomatic and wants to be liked by everyone.
