Eli looks to have shed 50 lbs. of belly fat from when he was here in 2021, looking a bit frail compared to some.

Apparently Gray was not feeling well yesterday, which makes sense considering how late they made the switch. Concerned about Stanley, maybe he's nicked up and needs a few weeks to recover but he isn't handling speed so well these days and if targeted in a playoff game by a quick DE like Betts it could get ugly for Zach. The next game against BC should be a very good test of the O-line to identify deficiencies. I think they need to have a backup plan ready to roll in-game to relieve him if he's struggling and that might have to be Gray if there's no way possible to get Richmond onto the roster directly.

Entertaining game, good to see the Elks play marginally better.
-
I don't know about that, Gray and Neufeld always seems to be the first ones downfield when the running game is working well. If anything I think his pass protection suffers with his high center of gravity.
-
Cody Speller, there's a guy that could still be playing football if he wanted to.
-
I think Neufeld missed some games in 2021 and Eli filled in.

I don't honestly care where Exume plays but as a Natl. who is athletic and has a nose for the ball he has the potential to be a ratio changer. I think he's worth developing and shouldn't expect to waste his entire career chasing down punts like Derek Jones did.
-
In his presser yesterday, O'Shea mentioned Briggs as the primary backup to Mauro. I'm really hoping they can do more with Exume this time around, especially as they can't count on Ford coming back anytime soon. He's crazy athletic and has good size, no reason he couldn't be further developed as a WIL or a SAM with guidance from Bighill, unless he has really low football IQ.

I suspect Jackson may take some reps. he played a bit of DE in College.
-
B.A. has lost a step, he didn't come into the league as a heavy hitter but much like Mo Leggett he's moved in that direction, I would prefer he focus more on coverage and good tackling and less on punishment. I think Holm could become an excellent Safety eventually, he has the mobility and speed to cover the field well but doesn't carry a very big stick. The Als Dequoy can do it all and looks to be the best Safety in the league right now.

Jones is a rebel! Bombers figured this out 4 years ago but somehow forgot how well it works.
-
Jones seems to be self-sabotaging his defence with a no-name secondary, are any of those DB's even second year players? I don't recognize any of them. Noticed he's bringing 9 D-lineman to play when he could have economized with 6.
-
I believe Miller has been re-upped on the 6-game IR, with the acquisition of Exume they've patched his contribution to ST and seem to be covering well on kicks lately, even without Gauthier and Hansen.

Bombers @ redblacks GDT - Week 6

Not that I think Sask. would be a logical trading partner for anyone other than Neufeld, but I'd take Picton as a Natl. receiver who has gotten better every year. -

Might be difficult for O'Shea to demote a vet. O-linemen but easy enough for Walters to trade them away to another team that could still use them, even if the return is only future considerations, prolonging their career is a win/win. I guess Eli wasn't ready at the time, but I feel they should have made a few tough decisions in TC. -
Maybe not all white.

The 6 game experiment with Agudosi established little, as Buck failed to integrate him into the passing game in the time allotted to do so, without the opportunity of injury replacement I think he slips back to the PR and eventually off the team in FA. Too bad, I think he could have become something special, if they would have focused on it even a little bit.

Loud and proud, Danielle Smith is not disputing how politics should be conducted, the UPC is now in a position to help their friends and partners with govt. contracts and they're open about doing so. The Alberta government has awarded a $1.5-million contract to a marketing agency where Premier Danielle Smith's former leadership campaign manager is part-owner and executive producer, government records show. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/calgary/danielle-smith-alberta-matthew-altheim-united-conservative-party-1.6904651

Bombers @ redblacks GDT - Week 6
Fatty Liver replied to MOBomberFan's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
The problem with letting the room control the team is it's become a highly revered "old boys club", and they've been playing together for so long their kids know them individually as uncle's. Nobody in that room is going to step up and point out that B.A. has lost a step and probably needs to be step back from playing Safety. That's the coach's job, but in the Bombers special case, Walters is usually the one that gets to do the dirty work. -
Don't hold your breath, the only time I've heard O'Shea speak on this rule change he expressed the opinion that teams should respect the intent of the rule change and not focus on ways to subvert the spirit of the rule. 8 other coaches, may not agree with his take. “We will continue to do what’s right for our team. But I do think it’s important that everybody involved in the CFL works together to make sure they’re doing the best for our league.” https://winnipegsun.com/sports/football/cfl/winnipeg-bluebombers/bombers-oshea-not-a-fan-of-confusion-created-by-cfls-new-nationalized-american-rule

I heard mention that Sask. was using the new rules to their advantage to roster both their Import RB's in an earlier game, but nobody is taking note of it anymore and it's not even a topic of discussion.

This after they hired Wally Buono to consult on the hiring and he strongly advised them not to put all of their eggs in one basket. Growing up a poor boy, I wonder if the love of money is the sole reason Jones wears as many hats as he possibly can, cause not having any assistance certainly doesn't help him perform any of his 3 jobs better.

I've heard he might be ready in time for Easter...
