  1. With the Bombers recent struggles to do so, I'd like to see how they fit all these hats under the admin. cap. Sounds like Steinauer should have been outright fired, but being a favourite son they found a nook for him to sit in so he could still receive a paycheque and participate. The Ti-Cats find ways to cheat the ops. cap. almost every year.
  2. Merv Walker was also a CFL official at one time, not sure why he gave that up.
  3. Ed Hervey.....wow, that guy is sneaky good at getting jobs. Gives Kavis Reed some hope.
  4. Yah he wasn't a favourite, I think the only reason he was on the field was the ratio at that time was bigger and tougher to fill out, him and DB Merv Walker were usually good for a couple of gaffes every game.
  5. You keep mentioning 3 turnovers, I recall one fumble and one interception, what was the other?
  6. Mark McDonald was another Cdn. receiver that played for the Bombers mid-70's, he was recently inducted into the BC Football Hall of Fame as an amateur player and a high-school coach. https://www.bcfootballhalloffame.com/mark-mcdonald/
  7. Does it also annoy you when you pay for insurance but your house doesn't burn down?
  8. Free agents won't sign for less, unless they're left at the bottom of the barrel when it's already over.
  9. It was different, the previous season the receivers remained healthy through the playoffs, but Zach didn't.
  10. Who are you proposing they hand the ball to, Dolegala? If Dru Brown is listening to Zach's advice, he ain't going to Sask.
  11. Same with Roosevelt the year before, never played a snap.
  12. He's already been waiting 4 years, if Stanley decides not to retire, I guess he can move on or wait another year. Beats out Manase Foketi who got tired of waiting after 2 full seasons on the PR 2016-18, decided not to bother showing up for TC in 2019. Tim Flanders also spent 3 years on the PR waiting for Andrew Harris to go down, he rarely did so he went to FA in 2019.
  13. As discussed a few days back, Bombers announced they signed 9 players for next year, many of who visited in the fall. https://3downnation.com/2023/11/28/winnipeg-blue-bombers-sign-nine-including-qb-terry-wilson-jr/#google_vignette
  14. That seems to be exactly what they did late in the season for a number of players invited to TC next season, they brought them in for a tryout during the last bye week, took a quick look and sent them home.
  15. Also Kaion Julien-Grant one of the best Natl. receivers in the league, who spent most of last season on the 6 game.
  16. Wasn't just that game, he played decently in a few games down the stretch, threw some nice passes too. Given a good game plan and some decent weapons, Fajardo can be reasonably effective.
  17. I think Jake Thomas might be ready to throw in the towel, but it depends if he has any "after football plans" or if he wants to hang onto his golden goose as long as possible.
  18. Not much to choose from, but from a budget perspective I would look at Fine, he throws the ball well and has good mobility, he could be akin to Brown 2 years ago and might develop positively in the right environment.
  19. Interesting situation in Ottawa, they currently have 6 QB's listed on their roster, including Masoli and F.A. Arbuckle, if they intend to go after Brown they'll have to shed some serious weight. I think they'll want to hold onto Crumm for future development but they may end up dumping Pigrome or Tyrie Adams along with Masoli and Arbuckle.
  20. If Slim Pickens was available in free agency, he'd be a better option than some of this lot. Nick Arbuckle, Ottawa Redblacks (A) Dru Brown, Winnipeg Blue Bombers (A) Dominique Davis, B.C. Lions (A) Jake Dolegala, Saskatchewan Roughriders (A) Dane Evans, B.C. Lions (A) Mason Fine, Saskatchewan Roughriders (A) Kai Locksley, Hamilton Tiger-Cats (A) Dakota Prukop, Winnipeg Blue Bombers (A) Matthew Shiltz, Hamilton Tiger-Cats (A) Tommy Stevens, Calgary Stampeders (A)
  21. Sounds like the Riders OC is going to be Marc Mueller from the Stamps.
  22. Why not, no sense limiting his options, especially if Harris hasn't recovered by the start of TC. I think Brown is smart enough to choose his best option to succeed as a starting QB, which eliminates the Riders next season. If that's the case, why not trade his rights and get what they can?
  23. Trevor Harris is their safety net, if they strike out signing Brown, who else are they going to bring in, Dane Evans? To try and build a team around Dolegala or Fine would just end up the same as Cornelius.
  24. That wouldn't last long, within 2 games Jones would pull Ford and insert Brown.
