Blue Bombers - 2023 Regular Season - Discussion Thread
Fatty Liver replied to JCon's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
No problem, I'm sure Holm won't mind going back on the PR for the remainder of the season, if he's a good soldier he'll take having his career derailed with a smile. In the end Winston Rose may be the odd man out as he's probably the least physical of all the DB's. Sooner or later Ford is likely to return as well, but I guess having too many assets is always a good problem to have. -
Can't seem to insert this tweet cleanly as twitter is a bit of a mess, but it contains a video of PP earnestly defending Harper's appointment of David Johnston to chair the inquiry into the Mulroney-Schreiber affair at the time. https://twitter.com/PierrePoiIievre/status/1665337043273109506?ref_src=twsrc^tfw|twcamp^tweetembed|twterm^1665337043273109506|twgr^b911a8596ca4649244e0ce806c2bd8522f39e47f|twcon^s1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fpublish.twitter.com%2F%3Fquery%3Dhttps3A2F2Ftwitter.com2FPierrePoiIievre2Fstatus2F1665337043273109506widget%3DTweet Pierre PoiIie CPC Leader Par @PierrePoiIievre After 6,915 days as an MP, I’ve changed my mind. Extremism will catapult me into being elected Prime Minister. I will say anything and attack anyone, about whatever, if I think it will make Canadians angry. Disinformed voters win me elections. That game was like watching an obese couple trying to get it on in the middle of a football field, a futile display of huffing and puffing occurred, but neither came close to getting their rocks off.

September 4, 1957, a group of people, several holding signs and American flags, protesting the admission of the "Little Rock Nine" to Central High School in Little Rock Arkansas. 66 years later, protesters brawl over LGBTQ curriculum outside Calif. school board meeting. Can't say the same prejudices don't exist within Canada, because they do, and they always have.

GDT - Ti-Cats @ Bombers. Week 1

Saw Schmekel once or twice but never saw Bennett, did I just miss him or was he invisible? -

Fright of the night, Zach scooting upfield with Simoni in the vicinity. -
Huff relied on recruiting imports for years to keep the cupboard stocked and never took part in bidding for high-end F.A. talent, mainly because there was little need. Last few years they've lost a lot of the players they invested development time in and it's starting to show. Dickiebird is in charge now, I don't think he's inclined to spend big in F.A. either, but he might be more enthusiastic about scrap heaping players from other teams.

The jerseys are in tune with their attempt to turn back time In Alberta. I hope their alternative jerseys are rainbows.
-
Strange, no Bomber players statistically ranked in the top 10 of DB's, LB's or O-line, which seems to be mostly dominated by Ti-Cats.
-
Typical CFL, new ratio rules introduced and before the first game is even played some teams have already subverted the intent of the rule change by finding a loophole.

CFL - 2023 Regular Season - Discussion Thread

Walters contract is up at the end of this year and there's no guarantee he continues in his current role. The job is obviously his if he wants it, but there are often reasons people change career paths mid-life, better opportunity, more salary, less workload, greater job contentment. You can kind of tell O'Shea is happy where he is but no real indication Walters feels the same way about his role. -

"Mike O’Shea, a Hall of Famer who has been in the CFL as a player and coach for more than 30 years, said Tanner Schmekel has a real nice smile." -
NEW YORK – Flights heading towards New York’s LaGuardia Airport were temporarily suspended by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) on Wednesday due to decreased visibility caused by smoke originating from wildfires in Canada.

The mere mention of that man's name triggers me.

Strange that it doesn't specify who to vote for if not Wab, is there a reason it doesn't identify itself as a Conservative document?
-
Bennett. Moving Haba to the PR just transfers the 3 player rotation to DE, not a great way to ease Jeffcoat back into action. Hell they could just roster Damian Jackson and sub him all over the place. Hooyah!

It's politics created for the dumb, by the dumb. Honestly the level of intelligence presented in these documents is around a 4th grade level.

The apology should be to the fans, for careless use of a "Schmekel".

One year from the time of the accident? That hardly makes sense if he hasn't been convicted yet. -
He was cut, that's how they get moved to the PR. Don't know whatever happened to "waivers" but that used to be a part of the process, allowing other teams to scoop players before they could be stashed.

Who knows, that sounds like an extraordinary delay, his lawyer could have postponed the trial multiple times due to Lawler living in AB, plus COVID. I don't think it's a coincidence the trial only occurred once he moved back to MB. When do driving suspensions begin, after the accident or after the conviction? That may be a possible reason to procrastinate as long as possible. -
Yah, so what, that can be changed pretty quickly.
-
If Lawson can't go Mr. Schmekel could be in heavy rotation, not too late to bring back Caleb Thomas and apologize. They can fix the ratio behind the line, or start BOLO in place of Agudosi if they have to.

He only pled guilty to the DUI charges this past April when he was charged in Oct. 2021, don't know why it took so long or if he had any control over the court date, but that's the reason his work visa hasn't been sorted out yet. -

Kongbo is likely to get even less reps. in Hamilton unless they shed some D-line weight, could be a pure ratio switch and they get rid of Ja'Gared Davis and his sizeable contract.
