  1. Hard to keep up, with every day more gems emerge. Here she is discussing taking over control of Federally owned airports with her Campaign Chair and UCP legal advisor Rob Anderson. Artur also had a wonderful day, he formed a brand new party with "sleepy Rob Anders" and was convicted of numerous crimes related to the Coutts border protest. https://calgaryherald.com/news/local-news/artur-pawlowski-guilty-coutts-border-blockade Only 27 more days till the election!
  2. Lightfoot was a true genius, not only from a lyrical perspective but the complexity of the musical arrangement, his singing and the instrumentation that accompanied his words was close to perfection. Rick Beato posted a wonderful tribute.
  3. Here is a tidbit from that website. "Matthew Trewhella, pastor and author, joins Tanya on the Empower Hour to discuss his book, The Doctrine of the Lesser Magistrates. “The lesser magistrate is an old term referring to any in civil government with authority, either elected or appointed” (ie. School board trustee/superintendent, mayor/councillor, MLA/MPP, MP, police, pastors). There isn’t a more important book, other than the Bible, that provides the kind of instruction currently needed to effectively and swiftly dismantle the agenda of corrupt civil servants, in order to maintain our God-given unalienable rights. The Doctrine of the Lesser Magistrate, “declares that when the superior or higher civil authority makes unjust/immoral laws or decrees, the lesser or lower ranking civil authority has both a right and duty to refuse obedience to that superior authority. If necessary, the lesser authorities even have the right and obligation to actively resist the superior authority.” They have a responsibility to protect the innocent and oppose those who made unjust laws or decrees, when it conflicts with God’s law." I do wonder if this entire movement isn't linked to the emergence of the "mega-churches" that spawned in the mid 80's. Anyone a member of one of these cults?
  4. Danielle Smith's fixation with Trudeau and her attempts to tie Rachael Notley to his apron strings is beginning to look totally loonie, but I sense a glimmer of desperation in this strategy. I hope they get their asses blown off.
  5. This non-sense usually starts in AB, every rabbit hole leads to the den of either Harper or Manning. Executive Director, Take Back Alberta David John Parker is the home-schooled son of a pastor from Central Alberta. He has worked in politics since he was 14 years old and served as an advisor to Prime Minister Stephen Harper and former ministers Shelley Glover, Ed Fast, Rona Ambrose, and Erin O’Toole.
  6. Here's the quote. Smith also compared politics in Canada with politics in the United States. "I look at the Americans. I look at Ron DeSantis in Florida and Kristi Noem in South Dakota," said Smith. "They've been able to create little bastions of freedom, and we can create a little bastion of freedom in Alberta as well." There's no containing her "I don't give a **** attitude", at least she's being openly honest about what she believes in. https://fortsaskonline.com/articles/danielle-smith-visits-gibbons---carbon-tax-health-care-and-a-small-protest
  7. During the televised portion of the Freedom Convoy inquiry held in Feb. I thought James Bauder came across as the looniest of the toons on display, apparently God speaks directly to him and told him to start a convoy. For Danielle Smith the chance to rub shoulders with him prior to an upcoming election is better than a bee to honey. Oh and apparently Theo attended the same event, can't wait for that photo to turn up.
  8. Both of these items should probably be in the comedy thread, but don't want to offend anyone that takes them seriously. Theo Fleury @TheoFleury14 Went to a @ABDanielleSmith event tonight in Calgary. If she doesn’t win Alberta is finished and Canada becomes a communist ####hole. Climate lockdowns and 15 minute cities will be the first then @rachelnotley will go door to door jabbing you with gain of function bio weapons. Get out and vote like your life depends on it. https://twitter.com/theofleury14/sta...591679488?s=21 More griftin' griftin' griftin", gotta keep on griftin" griftin" griftin.... Ezra just helpin' a grifter grift, making sure he gets his slice of the pie.
  9. Oh great, Telus doesn't make nearly enough profit from overcharging for phone services in BC with the assets they "stole" from BC Tel, now they're getting into health care. Oh look, they're in the pharmacy business now too! www.teluspharmacy.com These huge corporations are like vampires, their life blood is money and they can never get enough.
  10. I wonder if this could be a contribution of the CFL's association with Genius Sports?
  11. ....or subsidising arenas for rich owners. Sweep To The Cup @sweeptothecup We did it Calgary! We subsidized a billionaire with YOUR tax dollars in an investment that has shown time and time again, all over North America, to benefit only the rich owners and use fans’ love of their teams against them. All to win an election by meddling in municipal politics!
  12. Sorry, why would I ever make that connection? I'm unfamiliar with the actor, "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" came out in 1987, I haven't re-watched the movie since it came out 36 years ago.
  13. Alan Ruck the actor that plays Connor Roy in Succession was Ferris Bueller's buddy.
  14. Ding, ding, ding, wake up AB., not difficult to read the intent between Smith's lines, she's talking USER FEES pre-election. Just wait till she gets the chance to take her gloves off after the election, she won't be so smarmy about the changes she inflicts.
  15. Or it can be a strong indicator of who they don't want to vote for.
  16. The 6th and final season of Snowfall just wrapped up this week, not often mentioned but has to rank in the top 10 of all long term series IMO. Highly recommend binge watching based on the 80's L.A. crack epidemic with ties to the CIA and Iran-Contra drugs for weapons fiasco.
  17. Sask. just follows Alberta's lead, Conservatives in MB. would likely do exactly the same if it wasn't so unpalatable to a vast segment of Manitobans.
  18. Yah, the Stamps signing a DB that old indicates to me their time in the sun is almost over, it looks like the wheels are starting to wobble with the GM change from Huff to Dickie.
  19. 35 year old Nick Taylor signs with Stamps. https://3downnation.com/2023/04/21/in-the-nick-of-time-stampeders-add-veteran-db-nick-taylor/
  20. Danny Austin @DannyAustin_9 · Follow Interesting. The Stampeders will not be selling seats above Row 52 at McMahon this year (other than Labour Day and vs. Riders). Will be installing tarps to cover top seat sections. Hopefully an aesthetic improvement. 6:17 PM · Apr 18, 2023
  21. Allan Rocks's comments in the video below sum up Poilievre well.
  22. Like a passive investor the only thing Tanenbaum cares about is the value of his property going up so he can add to his personal wealth, ironically it will be the groundwork put in by every other team in the league that increases the Argo's worth, not anything he's ever done to make it better. Best thing for the CFL is for Larry to croak. “My concern is, in the major cities of Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver, it’s not attracted the younger fan engagement. You look at value creation and, you know, quite unfortunately, these teams are not worth that much money. The hockey, basketball or soccer teams are trading at hundreds of millions of dollars, in some cases billions of dollars. And you see the Argos, you know, a 106-year-old league, and what value creation are these franchises trading at? You’ve got to look at that and say, is that success?” https://www.sportsnet.ca/cfl/article/around-the-cfl-tanenbaums-comments-raise-concerns-about-future-of-argonauts-league/
  23. "O'Day is Okay" should be their new team motto, might even make a good chant if mumbled.
  24. Ralph Klein was also once a Liberal, that was until he concluded he had no chance of getting elected in Alberta under that banner, so he switched parties. The lure for most politicians is the access to power, who knows what trouble Obby will get himself into if he gets closer to the thrown.
  25. Looks like Renfield might be fun, Nic Cage as Dracula, perfect.
