I fear not, it's only going to get worse. 15-20 years ago that little dweeb could have been Poilievre, Harper or Kenney, they step directly from their Conservative campus club straight into jobs in Parliament without ever setting a foot in the real world. Preston Manning created some truly horrible offspring, but there's little doubt he's the Daddy of them all.

I missed that flag because I was blubbering from the first note onward. Tamara's tears are so salty!

You've got it all wrong bub, nothing but love with a side order of grifting. "Now Playing, coming soon to a location near you!" Not a single F*ck Trudeau flag anywhere to be seen!

As a native person are you unaware of how openly racist this iteration of the Conservative party is? Their definition of "old stock Canadians" only goes back 150 years.

Yah, far better to check out before that stage sets in. Got to have an exit plan and be capable of executing it while you still can, unfortunately it's usually the family that prolongs life well beyond it's rational expiration date. It's a bit insane.

SFU's enrollment is 37,670 which surprised me, however that may also include thousands of students enrolled through distance education across the province. -

The demise of the Great North West Athletic Conference football division in 2022, after only 3 teams competed in the 2021 season was an unfortunate event that forced SFU to compete further from home adding to the expense of the program. They did not fare well in the Lone Star Conference and were basically asked to leave. “With the recent announcement that the team has not been invited to continue in the Lone Star Conference." It appears all the other SFU sports remained viable in GNWC but it looks like the football program found itself between a rock and a hard place. Pointing fingers is always the easiest response. -
Don't Look Back - 2022/2023 Bombers Off Season
Fatty Liver replied to Wideleft's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Even if the Bombers found a young guy as good as Medlock, unlikely they would be able to hold onto him for more than a season or two before heading South, so in the long-term good maybe more sustainable than great. In 4-D chess Walters usually comes out ahead. -
More like political strategy 2 months before an election, now she can say she can't answers questions regarding the matter as it is before the courts, Voila. "Alberta Premier Danielle Smith says she will no longer speak about her involvement in how COVID-19 court cases are being prosecuted." https://www.thestar.com/politics/2023/04/03/alberta-premier-says-she-will-no-longer-comment-on-crown-prosecutor-controversy.html

Simon Fraser University eliminates football program https://3downnation.com/2023/04/04/simon-fraser-university-eliminates-football-program/ Could this be the first of many? -
That's not a bad idea, I sometimes find it difficult to pick up on a new season of a show after long layoff without re-watching the previous season.

24 Sussex Dr. has seen better days, time to take the old gal down and build a new one. Walls full of dead rodents led to closure of PM's official residence https://calgarysun.com/news/prime-minister-official-residence-rodent-infestation/

Can't tell, is OJ locked up in an outdoor jail cell or is he on exhibit at a zoo?

Johnston is also 81 years old, he doesn't have much left to lose and probably doesn't give a **** if he does.

"To be fair". "Bergen said Thursday the hat was not hers, and she put it on while at a restaurant in her constituency five years ago. "Somebody asked me, 'Hey, put it on and let's get a picture,"' Bergen said. "Knowing what I know now about what that means, I certainly would never have put it on and I wish I hadn't because it doesn't in any way represent me or what I believe or the way I live my life." That makes me feel soooo much better about who she really is.

Good god, I thought she moved to Alberta and wasn't coming back!

I'm glad this event brought attention to foreign interference in our democratic system, whether Chinese, Russian or American entities are attempting to influence our elections and policy decisions, it's far better all are aware of their intent to subvert our process for their own benefit so that it can be blatantly examined and exposed.

Good luck.

It's already been perfected.

Most of these statements seem to be made by people who have already benefited economically over their lifetime from the stability of the country and government they seem to loath. They fail to acknowledge that younger citizens and immigrants on their way up should also have access to the same opportunities stable government provides. In my estimation this attitude stems from greed and selfishness as a base motivation that often seems to be derived from an increased sense of prosperity. Poorer people tend not to adopt the attitude of disgruntled shitbags.

The video below explains how the UCP board has been hijacked from the inside by the rural nutbars behind the "Take Back Alberta" campaign in order to force their radical agenda upon the unsuspecting masses. It's well worth watching if you want to understand how Smith was hoisted into position to take control of the province under the notion that voting for a conservative is always better than voting for the NDP. Basically I think it's come down to a segment of the population wanting the red-blooded American brand of conservativism, not the washed out middle ground presented by Canadian conservatives. I have little doubt the same tactics will be used by the Conservatives in MB. as a covert way to try to retain power.

That's the thing, if there is no extra money coming in, I think a govt. should operate in "maintenance" mode, instead of making promises and spending money that doesn't yet exist. Nothing wrong with boring stability.
