  1. They've already signed Tony Jones, there will be no hunt this season.
  2. Is it too much to ask for a raisin, now and then?
  3. I'm surprised they dropped the antlers, good things have been done with a horny beast. Dangerous receiver when healthy, but that's been rare.
  4. It's no different than the Riders or Lions coming in all cocky and hot on a winning streak and getting repeatedly dropped by the Bombers, trending towards predictable outcome.
  5. To be fair the front 7 received a major overall in 2024 bringing in plenty of new blood, Devin Adams, Ayers, Jones, Woods added to the lineup and Garbutt, Haba, Cole, Fox and Schmeck given more prominent roles, the only non-change was Willie and Jake. That's quite a bit of renewal implemented in a single season, Bighill only played half a season and Gauthier's participation as a starter actually diminished.
  6. O'Shea may have to flip way back through his rolodex till he stumbles upon this smiling face. Jason Hogan might be a cheap in house dark horse candidate, here's his background. A Montréal product, Hogan brings a wealth of experience to the Blue Bombers coaching staff, having most recently served as the assistant offensive coordinator, running backs and wide receiver coach with the Université de Montréal Carabins after originally joining the staff in 2018 as quarterbacks coach. Previous to his days with the Carabins, Hogan spent two years with the Montréal Alouettes, beginning as an offensive quality control coach and then serving as defensive assistant/receivers coach. Hogan was also the program coordinator of the junior varsity and varsity teams at École secondaire Curé-Antoine-Labelle Loups as well as offensive coordinator for the varsity team. Hogan also previously worked for the Alouettes as a youth football program coordinator, where he helped organize the Anthony Calvillo Leadership Academy for Quarterbacks as well as serving as the offensive coordinator and quarterback coach at College André-Grasset. Hogan was a member of the Université de Laval Rouge et Or’s Vanier Cup win in 2006.
  7. The offence looked great against Sask. and Edm., not so good against the Argos though. During that 8 game winning streak they beat the Riders, Lions, Elks and Ti-Cats twice each but it was bookended by losses to the Argos.
  8. This is a case that illustrates stats don't tell the whole story, can't convince me the Bomber D was physically better than the Argos D, which could be due entirely to their superior D-line play.
  9. Trying to figure where Osborne Stadium was located from the picture below, was it across Osborne St. where the GW Life building is now located or was it up towards The Bay?
  10. Last season the West looked more like the East Division than the East Division.
  11. True, blasting past the inept Riders in the WF was a false flag. Just re-watched that game and 3 of the Bombers TD's were scored on dropped coverage, it was too easy. With the play of that secondary they really didn't deserve to get that far.
  12. Probably remembering wrong, hardly played, hardly had a chance to make mistakes and be noticed, too many good DB's lined up in front of him to be given much of a chance to develop. Surprised the Riders are interested enough to go after him.
  13. Yep, Maier was given a starting job and blew it, anything he can get between $100-$200k is a fair starting point for the opportunity to reboot his career. Trevor Harris went from the RB's to the Elks to the Als to the Riders to reclaim his career and a starter's salary, Trevor will tell him, "it ain't no easy road.....and maybe lay off them cheeseburgers".
  14. I think they've already made up their minds to hire in house, that's why they're in no rush at all to interview outside coaches. What they really mean by "interview process" comes down to shuffling office spaces.
  15. I would guess Sask. left some room in their QB budget and judge Maier to be a good backup option and a reasonable possibility of becoming their starting QB in a year or two if all goes well. Bully for them.
  16. Helped find new ownership in Mtl, BC and maybe Edm. and oversaw the COVID mess. Also did not lose a team under his watch, which is a major accomplishment.
  17. Rumour has Sask. going hard after Maier, given the options left, Masoli, Shiltz, or Arbuckle may be the best of the leftovers if the Bombers are at all interested in not repeating the same mistake that sunk their battleship.
  18. Can't help but think Buck may have stepped in a bucket, with the SMS handcuffs already in place, high player disgruntlement and the possibility of an owner swinging his **** around. Vancouver might turn out to be a bad move for his family if the stay is short.
  19. Matthew Betts re-signs with the Lions, It'd be nice to know what he's being paid. https://www.cfl.ca/2024/12/19/all-betts-are-on-lions-extend-top-national-pass-rusher-through-2026/
  20. Not sure if Nik Lewis was fired or retired, but he's leaving coaching for now. As some of you have seen that I am not a part of the Calgary Stampeders coaching staff. I chose to step away due to the launching of my own company and I couldn't make the time commitment to continue coaching. It wouldn't have been fair to the coaches, players or fans if I couldn't fully commit to the process. Coaching at the Pro level is very demanding on time. As fans you see wins and losses, but as a coach your a part of the whole process and it is countless hours that go into the preparation to have a chance to win. As a competitor, I want to win every time we take the field. I wanted to be part of the solution going forward to get Calgary back to the best in the west. It was a very difficult decision to make. I want to thank Dave and Huff for bringing me back to Calgary the last two seasons to coach. It was a dream opportunity to wear the horse again. I want to thank Pat Delmonico on creating a great work environment, I know he will right the ship and get the job done. I want to thank my WR core for the commitment they made to come to work everyday, no matter the circumstances. They took on roles that wasn't easy but they found success. We were able to make countless highlight plays and catches. It was great to see them improve on a daily basis. Lastly Calgary as you know Calgary is my second home and I'm looking forward to moving back to the city soon. Lots of great things are happening and I can't wait to share it with you all. As for the CFL and the Calgary Stampeders, I will always represent you the only way I know how. To the Nik Lewis Nation let's keep the party going. Thank You Calgary, Blessings and Love All reactions: 397397
  21. Tre Ford best shut up and win football games if he wants to remain #1, competition in the house.
  22. In those cases the decisions were probably made earlier and the announcements were delayed to coincide with season ticket sales. Maybe the same thing happens again. They intended to interview Macsymic, whether that happened or not before he took the Elks job is unknown.
  23. Why do they keep the interview process so secret? With the passage of time I kinda doubt it's going to be an inside hire.
