"We Own This City", Baltimore, David Simon, corrupt police and politicians, drugs, money and guns, a few familiar faces from the Wire, well done and well worth watching.

I took the Coquihalla last weekend, and it's amazing how quickly they've repaired the roads and bridges on that route in such a short amount of time. There was plenty of lane reductions and slowdowns but no actual stops or delays. What surprised me was the amount of activity the Trans-Canada pipeline expansion project is adding to the existing chaos. You would think they could delay this project until the infrastructure is fully repaired, but they seem to be working in about 50 different locations along the way, with hundreds of vehicles, and a workforce of thousands going at it 24/7 working in the dark with spotlights. Wonder why the rush?

They are currently in a buying frenzy to purchase every handgun and semi-auto available on store shelves before the ban comes into effect, one is never enough, they're often purchasing 2-3 at a time. The following forum is a glimpse into their deranged world view. https://www.snowandmud.com/threads/gun-control-its-coming.123023/page-57

The main selling point is that we're swiftly moving in the opposite direction of the US gun policy, while we still can. There is a small but loud percentage of our population that will complain and fight these measures, but for the most part it is what the vast majority of Canadians want. I don't mind saying, I want to see this group of regressive nuts squished out like a bug, after the embarrassing "Freedum March" my patience with their stupidity wore out.

Bravo, hopefully they can shut down handgun and semi-auto sales for good, keep pushing until all loopholes are eliminated. https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/handguns-liberal-bill-1.6470554

2022 Off Season - Back 2 Back Champs Edition

He's from Hawaii, I bet he's sitting on a beach getting fat. I know I would. -
Only 2 QB's available on gameday, I think Brown's lack of size is going to hamper him on 3rd down sneaks if they stick with him as backup, O'Shea may have to exercise a bit more caution in calling them. McGuire, Strev and LeFevour made successful 3rd down sneaks a given, all 3 had good power and size.

Back in the day when bushes grew along the sidelines.

I hope they follow through with this investigation and identify the credit card holders, and don't just drop it now that Kenney has resigned. I think he knew he couldn't win by cheating again this time, as too many eyes were watching him for any sleight of hand.

If you humour these people and prolong the conversation you will soon discover, racism and homophobia bubbling just beneath the surface. In my line of work I deal with a few like this everyday, and I do my best not to engage. They are not smart, informed or educated, mostly just angry for some reason.

The sad reality is a lot of CFL players that attended US college for 3-4 years never graduate, and many that graduate with "special" degrees, could probably not pass a standard gr. 12 level Canadian high school exam if challenged. Many attend school solely to play football, and the US college system and the NCAA gladly accept and accommodate these "educationally challenged" student athletes to keep billions flowing in from attendance, broadcast and sponsorship deals.

I have positive memories of Chuck Ealey, he was a very mobile QB, an exciting runner with a good arm, although injuries later took their toll on his career. He went 35-0 in college playing for the University of Toledo in the early 70's, but was passed over in the NFL draft when he insisted on playing QB during a time when there were no black QB's in the NFL, so he opted for the CFL instead. He was the first black QB to win the Grey Cup playing with Hamilton in his rookie season, 1972. A couple documentaries on Ealey can be found on YouTube, no mention of the Bombers, but well worth watching anyway. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DKIWYoz-jts&ab_channel=HistoryMysteryMan

All true, and not as nutty as it sounds, here's a link to a documentary on him.

They couldn't afford Castillo, probably can't afford Lirim. Plus after being booed off the field by idiots, not sure why he would want to come back.

Nothing so far-fetched if you accept the concept of "prisons for profit", adding "orphanages for profit" just improves the vertical integration of business, cuts down costs and helps maximize profit. I believe there are people who would gladly re-introduce "slavery for profit", if they could find a way to do it without using the word "slavery".

Cory “Poop” Johnson Craig "Death" Roh That's his son's place, they used to have a motor-cross track on that property. -
Could be the case, he looks pretty puffy and may be taking steroids to combat cancer. If anyone can recall a few years back when Norm MacDonald was making fat jokes about himself, it turns out it was steroids not doughnuts that caused his rapid weight gain. Norm died of cancer.

Enough is enough, these stupid rednecks are fundamentally altering the way our political system operates. Social media has given them a platform to organize their protests, and unless steps are taken to crack down on this vulgar behaviour, public appearances by political representatives will revert to the Harper model, were public appearances are in fact private controlled events for invited guests only. Which would also exclude any press that might ask unscripted questions or shine a bad light on the political candidate. These idiots have nothing to contribute to democracy, other than spewing vitriol and white noise. Dakota Prukop and Dru Brown are also participating in Bomber rookie camp, no big deal. 2. Crash course: Veteran QB Dakota Prukop, signed by the club this winter after he was released by the Edmonton Elks, was one of four quarterbacks on the field Wednesday along with Dru Brown — who dressed for two games last year with the Blue Bombers, University of Manitoba product Jackson Tachinski and Jake Floriea, signed this week after playing his college ball at John Carroll University. As a veteran, Prukop did not have to participate in this rookie camp, but chose to do so to learn Buck Pierce’s offence — and knowing that the decision might be touchy with ongoing CBA discussions.

I used to work with a guy who drank a 20 pack of Pepsi every day, he kept them in a cooler beside his desk. I do wonder if he's still alive.
