Dressler pulling up lame at practice today after getting into a tangle......yup the pieces are all starting to fall into place
-
I'd like to hear....'serious talks for Greene OR Jackson about to be culminated'...BUT we've been so damn quiet lately and Walters seems to have disappeared ,that I also won't be that surprised that we pass on addition that'll help down the stretch

Regular Season Bomber News & Discussion
Stickem replied to BigBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Exactly what I was thinking.....(I hope Matt reads this)...The guy is a walking tower and just waiting for a pass attempt to come his way...We've already been burnt by this guy so Nichols should have a read on him by now...When players go to the well once too often, there's a good chance they'll get 'tricked burnt'... Let him over commit and blow by that sucker...I'd luv to be the one to do it but unfortunately my wheels don't turn no more....I'd love nothing more than to take one by 'too tall Jefferson' and when I got to their goal line ,do a shake and bake shuffle, then drop in for the six -
Watching that obvious bungled spot in front of O'Shea and the restraint he used has gathered a little more respect from me for him as a head coach...IF Mike was a player and the player that he used to be, I think that ref. would have been the next thing to being skinned alive....The old O'Shea was a storming monster for T.O. when he thought his team was...let's say 'put upon'...He was tossed on occasion, as I remember ,and picked up a few roughing calls in his day BUT not the O'Shea of today....I can't explain his demeanour and the change from player to the coach he is now, but last night it served him and the club well for his restraint on dealing with that very bad call...Especially at that point in the game when it could have proven to be very costly ...After saying all of that, I wish I could see the 'old' O'Shea ,at some point in time during the season, I wish he would show a little more emotion and strip the hide off of someone in situations like that...HOWEVER..throwing his hands up in disgust and walking away was the way to go, and probably for the best, as it ended well for us....disaster averted

We're getting there....quite a turn around from the first game we played the two colours.....Matt looked to regain some of his confidence level and considering he was playing with a flu like symptom...gotta give him full credit....Bighill came up with the play of the game with that strip on Sinopoli and Dressler was buzzing all over the place and looked like the Dress of old...The offence is finally figuring it out and spreading the ball around to a lot of different receivers..great to see...Adams looked like his old self and I'm really starting to like this Wolitarsky kid in the clutch...The only real concern was the tendency for the D to fade in the late going...I don't know what it is but it seems like the defence has a timer on it and when the bell rings it's time to play silly buggers and go into a funk...That has to end and a full four quarters is going to be needed from here on in…. So bring on the green guys...I think we have a little score to settle and a good arse whoopin is in order
-
You're right Mark about the 'not caring'....When we reach the point of apathy....which seems to be around the corner as a lot of good posters have left....then you know you're in deep doo doo
-
Loyalty programme at it's finest (or at it's worst) don't you know....even though the loyal people you have may be found wanting....This club seems to be blinded with loyalty....but hey..the players like it....I bet Matthews didn't even get a look
-
Nichols was unimpressive last night and the D needs some help down the stretch..I hope he can deliver but we've been saying that for quite awhile now....Matt where are you
-
Where the heck has this D been hiding all year....Great game and the reason we dominated the Esks. right out of their stadium...If we would have played that kind of ball on defence all year we sure as hell wouldn't be scrambling like we are now...Tied with the Esks. and looking very dominate on D....Now if the offence can find itself ….mainly Nichols...maybe we have something going down the stretch....FINALLY we beat a team who are in the top tier in this league...Keep er going guys...………………Note to Mike O....WHEN YOU HAVE THE GAME IN THE BAG ..PLEASE TAKE OUT THE STARTERS WE CONSIDER INVALUABLE...Nonsense to leave them open to injury
-
I agree to a certain extent about the blocking but it can't be the reason on every play....Think about the whole year…..have we had ONE decent return or returner...Not to my recollection...That is a killer right there when the opposition is starting on their 35-40 yd. line and were starting on our 20-25...add to that a bad penalty call for a holding or blocking from the rear and we are really pinned deep...I can't for the life of me see why this coach....a special teams ace in his last job...can't see ..WE NEED A SPECIAL...SPECIFIC RETURNER FOR CRIPES SAKE...O'Shea was quoted as saying, when he came on board, that special teams were going to be our bread and butter and the way to true success for our club...Where the hell is it
-
Where's this new kid Boobie something or other...Apparently he's a burner and a darn good receiver.. Haven't heard a bloody thing about him since we signed him...Taking into account our pathetic return game...why isn't he in instead of a nic'd Fogg...Look for more dismal field position on our returns with our patented 'catch and flop' act...I don't understand why we can't find a way to inject these signed guys into the lineup after they've been here for awhile.. Other clubs can find a prospect and get them into a game pronto...I guess it's the old loyalty act from our not so illustrious head coach...even if the guy who needs to be replaced is entering the game on one leg he trots them out...I hope we can win tonight but hope is fading and with that the prospects for our head coach continuing on here..You'd think he'd be pulling out all the stops...
-
Yeah there is a way....start by returning our cash with interest
-
You gotta get the smoke out of your eyes and lift that melon man....Definitely smoke and mirrors....You don't really believe that riders are that good and it's sustainable down the stretch...IF you do you're dreamin in high definition
-
Because we didn't score enough pts. silly....and the ones Ssk. scored were.... let's just say ,smoke and mirrors
-
Oh....tell me some more.....AND he's not our problem...but apparently at one time he was yours and could be again if you re-sign him...Take him away Ripper..lol
-
I hope we string Durant along for a very long time....like he did us....Promise to give him his release and then yank it right from under his nose...at the last possible moment...Enter into another talk for his release with the proviso he returns our money.. then add a years interest on the money he should have returned...then we might grant his release....Seems fair to me and green bleeding Darian can be on his way
-
Don't want to throw cold water on your take but the two games against the schmoes are in their backyard ..IF they need them we're in trouble UNLESS Riley goes on vacation
-
That game in hand over us by the Leos could be the dif. maker....even though we hold the season series...That game on the coast when we folded in the second half like a cheap suit , I think was the start of our coming 'undone' (que the Guess Who)… Now look where they are and our position in the basement ..The only game we have a chance at closing the gap is the one at home against the riders, and we also have to hope they start losing...Depending on how important Edm. views the last game we have with them, that could open the door for 2 pts....IF they need it ..it will be very tough sledding...Calgary might cough one up if they're coasting resting players...That's it...Ottawa will want to keep their first place edge on Ham.....The way we're playing...doubtful there....Methinks we're in trouble...…...BUT paste together our walking wounded... study the film hard....stick to the plan....play hard every game and have sing a longs with the head coach....hey any things possible
-
Edmonton is going to be one tough son-of-a-biscuit to crack...I'd say we need all hands on deck and am a little concerned about Harris and Bighill....We aren't going anywhere without those two playing a 100 percent....I thought Wild looked alright for the most part filling for Bighill but he's no Biggie...Concerning for sure BUT after that bad slide and that little spark we got last night...can we build it into something bigger...Time for the real Blue Bombers to stand up...….or fold the tent and stand down...We'll see
-
Managed a win against the cellar dweller...It was getting iffy for awhile but we definitely improved in a season MUST win...Nichols seem to be coming around but I'll reserve further comment until after the Edm. game
-
The effort was better and a good result BUT we have to take into consideration who we were playing....That old bugaboo ..4..count em ..2 and outs in a row was starting to rear it's ugly head...Nichols overcame it in time to put together some offence but that tendency against a stronger club could have been fatal....Don't know whether it's the play calling or Nichols going into a funk but if we're going to go anywhere the rest of the way in 18' it has to stop..In any event we'll take the 2 pts.
-
Wolitarsky made some clutch catches.....this kid is on his way to big things in this league Thompkins...starting to look like the receiver we thought he was Sayles... is making a name for himself in the secondary....hope it continues

The Germans bombed Pearl Harbour????So the Japanese are off the hook...re-written history at it's best....or worst...LOL I want a win as badly as the next guy...as anti-climactic as that be...I want to run the table for the rest of the year just to get to respectability....A lot to expect??? I don't think so after 5 yrs.
