film was studied hard….and the guys are ready to play......well you know
-
lol....someone asked a good question....how did he pay for the cab, did he have his wallet in his helmet....

So, Apparently Johnny Football Will Start For Als.
Stickem replied to SpeedFlex27's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Someone said the Amerc's tuning in to Johnny football will put Wpg. on the map, to many down south....Well we are already on the map , in plenty of hollywood xmas, wintery movies, where they change the name of Winnipeg to some city in the states...They just don't know the streets belong to our fair metropolis -
So can we start talking about firing MOS yet?

I'm not a total fan of the guy but I do respect where he came from..He was one helluva player on D in his day....Too bad it hasn't transcended to Mike O the coach....So far, IF his playing career was anything like his non-success head coaching career, he'd have been cut...Chances for him are running pretty thin, and like 'do or' says I want to see the beef and some prime stuff....So far all I've seen is c grade hamburger -
I'd never had that problem...my pate looks a lot like Jacks'..AND I agree shave those locks LOL
-
OUCH....now that, that's out there....there will be a few guys tucking the dreads or things could get awful hairy
-
I certainly have no problem with our current crop of national receivers....it's the American imports I have a problem with...Do you really see any longevity and good return in bringing in guys like Lankford?...The current international receivers look pretty weak and I would say our draft pics Petermann,Simonise and Wolitarsky (of last yr.) outclass any of them...Surely to gawd we can find one decent international receiver...to develop, as you say...So far I don't see any...Remember the days of Robert Gordon and Arland Bruce..( to name a couple and a long time ago)...We used to find them...I know there must be one or two still out there??
-
So we find ourselves currently in the western basement....I hope Walters and O'Shea can see the red flags flying over IGF....cuz I sure can...Doesn't look like any hope on the horizon either as there seems to be a lot of hand sitting.....not even a rumour of anything changing...Writing on the wall is getting clearer and clearer as the days go by
-
Looks like the right team won last night in Sask.....great
-
We do have the same amount of development time....BUT first you have to start with chicken to make a chicken salad....watery eggs won't do
-
Can we hire someone from the stamps to find us some players.....Where the hell do they get these guys....Makes our recruiting look pathetic...Latest star Beggleton….they just keep coming for the stumps and we can't find a receiver to save our lives
-
Just a figure of speech....'For their sakes' doesn't mean I personally want to see them back...What it does mean is that will be a foregone conclusion if we miss post season and they will be dealt with...which is quite possible...I still hope we can pull something off in the last few games..(unlikely if we lose to the basement dwellers)...but there's still a flicker....Once that's extinguished.....clean house
-
IF we somehow find a way to lose to the Als., the boos will be deafening...directed I would say at our current coach and Nichols....However IF we win the eventual drop to the bottom will probably commence the following week as dashed dreams start to become a reality...I hope for this managements sake that doesn't happen.. BUT...……...
-
We need anyone that's breathing at the moment....We could've tried to fit him in...BUT I digress....apparently Rainey blew up in the meeting room when someone suggested he NOT try for extra yardage on every play...He said he wasn't built that way and had a run in with Wally...That's the story.....so was he really available as he's listed for their next game...Farhan on the coast said he was headed for the 'available' column but when 5 clubs explored the idea of bringing him in they all said....'too expensive'...Dead issue
-
It's going to be a hard sell IF we miss the post season ...The majority of fans will not buy this current group another year and it will start showing at the gate...This is a business and when the bottom line starts reflecting bad management and coaching the red flag is hoisted...There's been enough time for this current regime to at least produce a win in the playoffs...IF that doesn't occur the gloves will be off and the exit door for a few people on this club will be wide open...Bet on it
-
Here's one for you....beating an improved Mont. team is not a slam dunk by any means...Popkin...or whatever his name is hitting targets all over the field....Their D is starting to swarm like their old days...They don't need to start Johnny football cuz what they have is going to be a challenge...AND IF we do drop the next one say goodbye to 18' and most likely to our not so illustrious coach...Playing at IGF is not the advantage it used to be and Streveler will have to have a great game...O'Say says he's starting Nichols....I doubt he finishes...BUT surprise the hell out of me Mike and Matt
-
Why not make an attempt to acquire Rainey....He's sitting on the B.C. bench and is rumoured to be available....At least tell us you made an attempt Walters for cripes sake...We need a returner with some speed not a catch and flop bull$hitter like we have at present...
-
They certainly will especially if we're treated to some more Matty ball where he hits the opposition receivers more than the ones in bluengold...O'Shea better duck

Thankyou Elton Taupin……..The lyrics are pretty good and sums up a lot of the Bombers faithful fans feelings ..I hope it's not Goodbye BIGBLUE Road in 18.... cuz at present it's looking a lot like another dead end -

Barring a miraculous finish to the season, this club has played itself, under the guidance of Mike O', to the brink of another failed year...Just a sniff of that type of finish is enough for the average fan to feel dejected....It's taken too long to show Cup contending results already...Another bad finish will most likely seal the fate of the head coach..How long does this management think fans are going to wait for results???This is a business after all and we're far off the mark in the success dept....Bringing back Mike for another shot after missing the post season, or creeping into a crossover, just won't be on...Could we surprise everyone and make an unexpectedly good Cup run??...Maybe...but the odds of us getting to the promised land with a qb. who has plainly lost it are very small...So the writing is on the wall and I know the faithful fans of this club can read it...These last few games are going to be crunch time for this regime...Finish badly and the writing on the wall will turn to 'that's all she wrote' for this coach...The way I see it -

IF this season ends in a gas soaked dumpster with a tire fire adjacent to it, I don't see how bringing back O'Shea would be an option....Someone suggested bringing him back next year, even if we end up in that dumpster, to try his hand at fixing things and turning this club around….Sorry ...wrong headed....First of all after 5 years and we finish out of the post season....or even if we're a one and done...what's going to change....All we'll get is the same likable guy the players adore with the same mediocre results...Secondly if we did bring him back after another unsuccessful year AND he is the same O'Shea...how do you replace him with any credibility at that juncture...All of the good avenues will have been closed and we'd be stuck in ANOTHER losing year...No, not acceptable..it has to end in a clean break at the end of this year IF everything has gone south...Start next year with a clean slate and a clean house... -
Anyone who could not see that Nichols (and granted some of the play calling) were the reason for this loss is suffering from ostrich syndrome....To tackle a problem and correcting it has to be firstly admitting and recognizing that there is a problem...Trying to cover it up just exacerbated the problem
-
Even the crossover looks to be a long shot with the way this team is playing....We need a shake-up remaining status quo is going to mean possibly missing the post season all together..... Even Mont. has improved with a fairly good qb. situation now....while we head for the basement....All of the bad roosters seem to be coming home to roost, that has plagued us since last year , and if we hope to snag a crossover we're trending in the wrong direction...Promising year has gone KABOOM ...However IF things change and we get lucky and sneak into a crossover spot, it'll be a one and dun, cuz every team in the east has improved, while we have deteriorated ...An alarming change from all of the optimism at the beginning of tc.

There has been many questions about how O'Shea manages the players but none are answered....Usually we get the quick brush off or no answer at all...Mismanagement is very obvious....you just have to look at how the qbs. are handled...Obvious holes in our line-up are not being addressed...(returner for one) and it's costing this team...It's down to O'Shea AND Walters to fix something over this bye week....it's their job....and it could literally mean their jobs if it isn't...Get a big receiver in here who can catch...not these spindly types like Thompkins and Washington...both of whom were nic'd badly when they tried to extend themselves...Washington hit the turf without really getting hit at all on one play and barely got up....IS this the best we can do???pitiful if it is O'Shea...Four game losses in a row better get someone's attention
