Geez has it really been that long (maybe I'm caught in a time warp lol)....Seems like yesterday watching House making those solid grabs...Dr. Nielsen wasn't too shabby either...Two former greats that knew how to get it done.

Would we have any interest in Franklin?
Stickem replied to Taynted_Fayth's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
How do you not have interest in Franklin??....As well as talented and according to a few reports is of solid character , we would be foolish not to have a look...His contract status right now is a little confusing...Some say he is a fa at years end...some say he's still under contract, which for us, would be ideal if we wanted to pry him out of Edm. in a trade....Might cost us deep and could involve our number 1 pic...Are we prepared to go down that road???I'm sure it's crossed Walter's mind but with the season far from done, I don't think it's a current priority...IF we are bounced out of the playoffs by B.C....a one and done.. and Nichols fails to impress, I think the pursuit of Franklin get's ramped up...Taming the lions is no 1 right now. -

Sometimes it's hard get through that melon...Blinded by all of their self importance as well....Durant doesn't sound all that positive about remaining in Riderland and says things have come to a standstill....He mentioned Chick, Dressler and Getzlaff at the end of his discussion, about his status for next year...Is Durant getting the same feeling as all of those players did when Jonesie let them go....hmmmm...Stay tuned...Could be all contract posturing but where there's smoke......... -
Looks like the 1st. overall is ours.....our second will be decided tonight with the result of the BC game.... It'll be one position in the draft either way....BUT any way you look at it we are gold in the 17' draft....Walters and company have got us in a position to get some quality canucks.

After chucking three more with ease.....Who the hell is this kid...Someone is going to be knockin on Hervey's door in the offseason...Have to agree the opposition looks like their secondary is a sieve...Lot's of holes to plug in argoland

I can see why the riders are all over this Franklin kid in Edm...He looked like Warren Moon on their first td.....Maybe we should have a look lol.....

.That's it....work the red zone until we get something that works...Practise ...practise ...practise till we get it right, otherwise the red zone will remain the dead zone for this club, and the field goals will continue to be the most prolific part of our game

......Andrew Harris a couple yards short from the 1000 yard mark...O'Shea playing it safe or if he wasn't aware of how close Harris was didn't play him.. Andrew could have easily made the mark...Team first I guess BUT a real downer for Andrew..

Seems like it lyin guy'...they're wallowing in their own misery and lashing out, and fans from elsewhere are getting caught in the wash....I used to think bigsexydawg was pretty fair minded but even he is turning the way of the 'closed minded'...Better than the 'no minds' that permeate the place I guess.... This whole debacle about running houses for players and breaking league rules was a blind spot for a lot of them....Their baloney that 'everyone does it' and the league is being run by a moron was getting to be a little too much for me....What's the old saying...'there's none so blind ,as those that will not see'...I think there'll be more fall out at the end of the season and into 17' and it's going to be a real eye opener for a lot at rf's....When their eyes are opened and some of them have to face the fact that the league is not being run by the Saskatchewan Roughriders maybe they'll lighten up. -

I read your posts over there and you were always very respectful to their fans, I thought...Why they give you the royal boot is beyond me...Some of the rider posters are quite knowledgeable and fair but a lot of them are nutbars, way over the top and fit the handle 'troll'...They sure have a hate on for us and the feeling is mutual ...Ripper is a pretty good head...at least when he's on here but certainly tows the party line when he post at rfs and gets a little green googly eyed when he's back in the fold...In any case welcome lyin' guy...Looking forward to seeing your stuff on here..IF we meet in the semi...I won't wish you any good luck and I hope it's a slobberknocker... -
Will MOS's stubborness cost us in the long run
Stickem replied to Old Bomber Fan's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Regarding losing our starter......would have been enough reason to pull him alone, when it looked like everything went south..On one play where someone whiffed on a block, Nichols was sacked hard and his leg bent backwards...It looked as though he was gumby on that play and I suddenly got a flash of Glenn finishing the season for us...I also remember when Glenn was lost with a broken arm that some fans believe cost us a Cup...I think this game was long over before the last seven minutes AND if Nichols would have been out of action the rest of the season....wellll the assault on Mike O would have been as loud as IGF gets at it's highest decibels..Sometimes game management by this club looks amateurish. -
I guess you could read some of our post game comments as negative BUT you're right...Maybe a better statement would be is that a lot of us see our opinions as 'constructive criticism' rather than negative and I don't see that as a bad thing....Definitely agree we have a ways to go before we are considered as championship calibre...There's a few positions that need up grading....middle LB for one...AND are we sure Nichols has what it takes to get us there....If he steadily improves I think so,but I digress....Continuing to improve at all facets of the game including coaching is imperative....Continuity is a great thing, but the off season should produce some additions that can put this team over the top...IF it doesn't ,maybe we have the wrong people..Having said all that I hope this current team surprises the hell out of me personally , and goes a lot further in the playoffs than a lot expect, including myself...I can go with that...

I'm just thinking..(I know that's dangerous).. that this fan base gets a tad down when the slightest loss (okay that one yesterday was a biggie) get's looked at extremely negatively from every angle..I have to wonder why that is sometimes, then I remember other years that ended similarly and badly...I guess 25 years and counting with no Cup can do that to a fan and the 'here we go again' syndrome comes into play...I think a lot of us are 'gun shy' and are desperate for some success post season...any success for that matter and when we see that threatened the jitters set in...We still have a chance to make up for that debacle and we know we have the talent to do just that...I just wished the team wouldn't make me so nervous.
-
I don't think the blame can be solely laid at the feet of Nichols....that was a team effort orrr more accurately a team non-effort...I was hoping to see a playoff game at home...Still possible I guess....but not likely....So if that was the last game we see of our guys at home this year, that was not the way I wanted to see us end at IGF in 16...Kind of leaves a bad taste in a lot ways....Maybe the team can make up for it in a playoff (wherever)...Hope so.
-
The only silver lining I see is that the argos will most likely get trounced next week by the schmoes, and we get the first overall pic in 17' ..After that and after that display yesterday AND if we play similarly to that mess.... it doesn't matter where we finish, we'll be one and done.
-
Well to recall an old saying from back in the day....'that was a bummer'...It looked like we laid down and no team that has aspirations of better days...lays down....We looked like we were not ready for this game and that's a bloody shame and a sham to put before the Bomber faithful who want desperately to win at home....Having said that I hope we kick Ottawa's arse next week and finish where we should, in second place not a lay, down back door job..(still possible to finish as the crossover at this point) entry into the playoffs...Just a bloody horrific game and I hope we've put this one behind us...Time for a few more beers.

Darvin adams getting healthy, who comes out?
Stickem replied to wbbfan's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I hope Adams has a good game cuz Gurley and a lot of Bomber fans will be watching very closely....IF he doesn't, the decision to start him over Gurley will be very glaring...I'd luv it if Darvin lites it up....we shall see. -

....Someone said it once and it's still rings true....stats. are for losers...The name of the game is WIN...not post gigantic stat. numbers while your club sits in the basement...(see Darian Durant version 16'.) -

Stickem replied to wbbfan's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
We didn't sign Gurley to sit...How do we know that Adams is even 100 percent...Gurley plays. -
Esks. playing like they want in the back door back east...Riley looks like crap and B.C. looks like world beaters....who knew

.....Will it matter....Ricky will have the same receivers to throw to as Willy....that would be a suspect bunch....If he does start ...what happened to the statement by the argos, that Willy will be their man for the rest of the year??? -
The fans would go wild IF they put the kibosh on Wild...Although his injury right now is taking the glow off of his stellar play at the beginning of the year (see tackling machine)...I just can't see us parting ways with Ian...If we did the green guys next door would pick him up in a flash.....no way.

IF he was, I'm not going anywhere near that whistle....Progress halted...play dead no matter what happens after that...pretty simple unless you want to discuss exactly when that whistle went.....you know the one that could have had gas pass through it...(sorry bannatyne, but for some reason that struck me as funny and I now half to clean the coffee off of my keyboard)...lol

Finally....geez it's been so long I forgot the feeling...Now to make something of it...Start by hanging another one on the leos this week.
