Drew was way over-rated and way over paid....He is what I always thought a no 2 serviceable qb....He was carrying a huge weight on his shoulders here because the fans expected him to deliver what he wasn't capable of...A few good games then the real Willy stood up...I hope Milo in T.O. can make something of him.... I wish him well BUT I hope they don't expect another Ricky Ray cuz it just ain't there.

Hey what better time to pick up a leo cast-off....Maybe he'll bring their playbook with him....AND IF we reek the rest of the way, I wouldn't be too sure about Mike O's future here...Too many failing years will catch up no matter who you are...Then again maybe we'll extend him and give him a big raise similar to what Willie got.....Oh I'm such a cynic.lol

Do we have a policy not to go after players who have been up here and try the nfl?....Seems like it....Sinkfield would've been a nice addition but for reasons unknown he's playing for a division rival that could Sink us........ooooo did I really say that -

I wonder. if he sees a Cal. player kick a fumble down field, if he'll remember not to treat it like it was a grenade... -
If you're referring to krunch....I guess that's wise...I do know he announced he was never coming back here....Didn't back that up though did he....lol....I called him on some crap he tried to dump on us is all...I shall ignore him from this point on like the rest... Take it easy on the unenlightened though for cripes sake logan and let me get up to speed ......

Your lake isn't up around St. Laurent is it????I used to do a lot of duck hunting around there and the St. Ambrose area....Clarke Gable used to come up every year to a cabin he owned here, to duck hunt around St. Laurent ...Pretty popular with Americans...Nice to see Bud is still staying as active as he is...As for me I've hung up my shotguns a few years ago...Miss it.. After that game we played last night Bud is certainly the most deserving of the Happy Honker....

Why is it we seem to fall to pieces (seemingly) towards the end of the season...Does Mikey heap praise on our players after a winning streak and then say....'hey we did good guys...you can relax now' cuz that's what seems to happen...Certainly we have a few key injuries...but every team has those.....It seems the intensity has diminished for some reason...especially on D.. We never had a heckuva lot on offence anyway so that ain't it...Maybe Harris being out and taking his leadership qualities off the field is hurting us more than we know....Then on the other hand we never had him the last two seasons when we seemed to go into the 'season ending funk'..???I don't get it...I hope I'm wrong and we can shift gears and get back on the track...Otherwise it'll be a repeat of a repeat we've seen too many times in the recent past.

Yep.....Lefavour (of the month)...Bo....Riley....and now we get Jennings who is most likely salivating at the thought of playing a team who keep their dbs. 15 feet off of the receiver...not to mention Harris and his band of go to guys who are no slouches either...This is not going to be any easy finish to the reg. season and I doubt the bye week is going to save the day....That might get a few of our guys who are nic'd a rest but unless we have an 'awakening' on D......I don't like the way this is gonna end.

I don't like to blame reffing for failure .. BUT in this game it was atrocious....Never mind that pi call on Leggett (complete bull$hit)...How about the refs firmly in Maas's corner...deliberating on a challenge he made...changing it ..then standing around pondering it forever, making sure he didn't want to change his mind again...No wonder everybody was booing...First it's pi...then it isn't...then it's...What a bunch of crap..I hope we don't get that zebra crew again in 16' although, to be sure, they'll be front and centre if we have a game of significant importance....I don't know what I'm more po'd about....the Fogg td's being called back...EVERY BLOODY TIME ...or the habitual losing at IGF...throw in the hee hawing on our challenges or not challenging blatant bloody errors by the refs. period...In the end we didn't do ourselves any favours with dropped balls on the goal line...(looking at you Dress) and getting very little pressure on Riley till the second half...Even then it was sporadic....O'Shea was boiling at the half and he looked like he was ready to blow his lid..First time I've really seen him tear into his guys and they deserved it..Maybe we need more of that...Disappointed in this team once again and I hope we're not going back to the...'look great for awhile' then slip into the toilet for the remainder of the year b.s....

Guess this game didn't mean much, the way we played it....Bull&hit play from beginning to end...This team stinks at home and it's no wonder we have a struggle to fill the joint...Not happy with this at all.

I agree....why is it that none of our pics seem to be interested in joining us???Bilukudi...Mulumba....not to mention Muamba (who I don't really care to mention but nonetheless)...To be fair I guess they aren't 'quite' finished with their nfl gigs....or if they have, haven't expressed any interest that we know of...I think Jefferson is about to sign with the Esks....orr the green guys...Do we not measure up.????? -
Young or older (I don't like the term old) we're all solid Bomber fans around here (at least most of us) and that is what's paramount.
-
So we're still bringing in receivers...probably a good thing...Never heard, how did this guy Outlaw turn out or did he??
-
Yes....and just remembering is sometimes a feat in itself......
-
I hope you're not referencing me with that comment LOL...A friends of mine (who's the same age) always has a line I like when someone asks his age...His response is ''Well I'm older than dirt"...Always get a chuckle out of that one..As for me I like to put things into context...for a guy like J5V...I'll put it this way...comparing our ages...when he was starting kindygarten I was in high school AND Nicholson was in high school when I started school...You can take it from there... AND everyone should do as good as Bud has....one heckuva character.
-
How old is the guy in my avy???and you're getting close lol....Hey I've been a Bomber fan since I was twelve and still remember vividly those Cups Bud brought us...Grant was and still is an inspiration ....I just hope I can hang around as long as he has
-
That picture of Bud at the top says it all for me when he coached here....He was Mr. Calm and Cool and smart as a fox...I remember one Grey Cup against Ham. when their coach at that time, Jim Trimble, was all over the media saying, ' We (the cats) are going to waffle them' ...Grant didn't say much... we just went out and kicked their arse"... taking the Cup back home.. That sure shut up that crew ...Bud was a coach who just went about his business and delivered....AND boy did he deliver...Just wish some of the young fans of today could experience what we had back then...Seems so very long ago but man did we have a winner, when Bud and the Bombers ruled the league. Very deserving honour.

Trouba wants out (Trouba has signed)
Stickem replied to FrostyWinnipeg's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
So Mr. Trouba wants out of the Peg.....What///he doesn't like it here??.....Money????Grant him his wish if he doesn't want to be part of the Jets future...Helluva talent but you gotta want to be here firstly...Too bad I really liked the guy ..I do know one thing we aren't going to make a deal for another lesser defenceman..So get those phones ringing Chevy...We can see the first preseason opener on the horizon.. -
Miller starting contract extension talks with Walters O'Shea
Stickem replied to Jpan85's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I agree with you to a certain extent....players better and should be ready to play every down (football ex.)...Coaching encompasses many facets of a game including mentally preparing your players...I don't know if O'Shea takes the locker room rah rah stuff seriously as he seems to come out with what seems to be a blasé attitude... He doesn't seem ready at times and needs to take smelling salts (seen it on a few occasions) to get him engaged or something...Could it be that it rubs off on the players??.. Maybe it's just me and what I see... The physical part should be a given and the coach knows who he has on his bench...I've been around sports all my life playing them and working in it...Individuals are all different and every coach has his way of dealing with things in his own way...Could be this coach (Mike O) gets the results he wants, preparing the way he wants...Can't argue with the recent success but it wasn't always that way...(see record of the last few years)...The team seems to need time to rev up...very rarely do I see us 'fly out of the gate"...We always seem to start very slow and in that last game against Cal. that extended to the second half...You tell me why that is???? -
Miller starting contract extension talks with Walters O'Shea
Stickem replied to Jpan85's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
We came out flatter than a pancake...can't do that against good teams....Is that on coaching???? I would say partly but the players have to wear some of that as well...Does this loss affect contract talks??? Shouldn't as we still have a long way to go in 16' ...IF all of the wheels fall off between now and our season ender then we certainly have to have a rethink about extensions...till then keep talking. -
Did we even get one sack in that heartbreaker....Can't remember one and we were missing Cole...It'll be a dif. story if we meet them in the postseason ...and Bo will be 'peeping' a dif. tune...
-
Cal. seemed to march at will when they needed to......Crappy outcome ...but we can't hang our heads after that one...I thought O'Shea should have challenged that last catch by Cal. that put them in the position to win it...nothing to lose at that point except the game.
-
You gotta be fricken kidding me.... The kicker we dumped comes back to haunt us once again...Real problem was putting him in the position to kick it in the first place BUT in Calgary....whoah....that was some serious football we played right there but alas came up short
