Riders are definitely missing Dressler and Smith...Roosevelt/Bagg seem to be the only reliable/credible receivers in their line-up ...AND as an aside...do the Riders not get called for off sides or are the refs just blind to their ineptness...I counted 3 flagrant offside penalties that should have been called...The receivers were well past the line of scrimmage before Durant had the ball in his hands...Leeway for those yokels gets to be a little much...

Midnight madness and we come out on top....2 very good clubs that we beat one right after the other....I don't know where we were hiding Nichols but wow, he's looking like the real deal...Quick release is confusing the hell out of the opposition...They were used to the turtle like actions of Willy...Matt seemed to disappear a bit in the second half but I think we had that one put away by then...Kudos to the team...that's more like what we were expecting this season...Now can we keep it up??? I think cuz rider fans thought because they are getting a new stadium next year....AND they hooked into the Grey Cup winning coach of last year that, that somehow guaranteed some kind of top finish in 16'...LOL..I guess after witnessing that demolition in Mont., they have been brought crashing down to earth...IT'LL BE AWHILE...LOL

It occurred to me that the team as a whole played better because they felt confident, after the first couple of plays, that this guy..Nichols...can get it done...I remember a lot of other starts when Willy was 2 and outing it for the most part of the first quarter and I'm sure it was disheartening for the rest of the club as it was lift when Nichols was in last night...To put it simply....this is a quarterback driven league...without it you are lost...This fundamental is undeniable and I'm sure has not been lost on the coaching staff and the Bomber faithful...Willy will have to take a back seat now because he COULDN'T perform to the calibre it takes to be a winner..Matt Nichols now has his chance and it appears he's going to make the most of it...

Depleted in the receiver dept. ...We take one giant step FORWARD and get knocked back 2...We need guys to step up and hope like hell our injuries aren't that serious...........crap.

I wonder if Willy got up this morning...looked in the mirror and said....' my gawd it is/was me'....Time to do a serious re-set Drew cuz your game has gone south and it actually WAS YOU.....I think we'll stick with Nichols as long as he can get it done...which is looking pretty good right about now.

The whole team played better because....WE HAD SOMEONE WHO COULD PUT IT IN THE ENDZONE...You could tell in the first series of plays this club had a lift...There's going to be a lot of conjecture about our 400,OO0 dollar man and his future here...bet on it.

Willy is acting like he's a guy who really doesn't want to be here...Don't know why exactly but I've always thought his interviews were lacklustre...something like his performance as a Bomber lately...This guy is getting a nice chunk of change....411,000 to be a no 1 quarterback....Simply put, he isn't...I think we were sold a bill of goods when he was acquired....he really is a never was and his latest bristling with regard to the press shows he really is not a professional...Quite frankly, after reading that article in the Freep, I'm expecting some movement with regard to his employment as a Bomber qb.....Maybe the sooner the better for all concerned...Willy is going to be standing on the sidelines holding a clip board in Edm. making 400,000 and change doing it...I hope we don't have to use him and rather go to Davis or Bennett, 2 guys I know want their shot...What a train wreck we've become.

IF Willy can somehow find what he's lost..he'll hang around....400,000 big ones should certainly be enough incentive BUT a big drawback if we were thinking trade...Nobody will want to pick up that contract, especially the way he's been playing lately...Nichols would have to totally crap the bed or get nic'd, to see a Willy return...I do think he's finished here if Nichols can prove he has the goods to carry this team to the end of the season..The Bomber braintrust will then proceed to rid themselves of Willy and his big contract...He could be released but most likely not before the end of this year...To say he's 'finished here' as of now, is a little premature...to say he is sliding towards the precipice of an exit here would be accurate...Tough call for sure, as a lot can still happen, including a dramatic turn around.... presently that would be just wishful thinking.

Why Reinebold Mike? is it because he has gained experience since he sped out of here on his hog....I'm being serious, maybe you have something there...He was an excellent motivator just couldn't turn into success.. Now coupled with a lot more experience, could he make it work as head honcho???I wonder if we're daring enough to give it a shot???Fans remember his record here and will probably do a face plant IF this ever happened BUT ya just never know in this wackey league..

My take on Willy is that we needed...expected...more than he is capable of...In other words, a backup, trying to look like a starter that never really had the goods...To pay him starters money has compounded the situation, as now fans want to get their moneys worth, so to speak, and he can't deliver...We also have a coach that can't/won't recognize that fact adding further to our dilemma ...We are probably stuck with both until seasons end....I hope 'do or die' has many cases of gin on hand, because this could be one helluva bender.

That was one horrid PI call that put the riders in a position to kick the winning field goal...If that was pass interference, then any reception made by any receiver with a db close at hand, should be under 'review' and viewed as such..That was not pass interference....On the other hand, the helmet to helmet on the Redblack qb. was correct, BUT the same type of helmet to helmet on Gale was reviewed and found to be alright?????...The phantom PI call, that pretty much decided the game was a bloody joke, and makes this league look bush. WOW that 'eye in the sky bull$hit sure is working

It's quite noticeable....the lack of 'enthusiasm' on this club...The bench looks like they were told not to be too demonstrative, as this could sap our needed reserve strength or something lol...O'Shea wanders up and down with a 'sheepy' grin or expressionless for the most part...whether a decent play was made or a busted one...Of course when the player who was guilty of a bone-head move, he does get a smile and sometimes a pat with the clip board...I don't know whether this lack of emotion is because we are so beaten down or the heart has gone out of this club altogether... I do not like foolish penalties for 'over reacting' BUT for cripes sake let's look like we are at least 'alive' and want to win more than the other guys..Lots wrong with this club and we lose a helluva lot more than we win but there's no excuse for coming out of our tunnel looking listless and ready to concede the 2 pts...Leggett said it awhile ago...we need players on this team who play the game 'on the edge' and are not 'Mr. Nice guys'....Maybe that's beyond Mike O.

Yes and O'Shea will take Walters with him ....I think Kyle tried his best in the offseason and it looks like his efforts were wasted on a former special teams coach who doesn't know what the hell he's doing...So we pay the price again....Miller better start looking up possible replacements soon for 17'...That's a foregone conclusion.

Yup...it's a rebuild and for the umpteenth time....Clean house and start again cuz this crap show is going nowhere...Someone needs to hit O'Shea with a 'you don't know what the hell you're doing' (then run like hell)...Willy is obviously not the answer as we were led to believe....The short time Nichols was in proved that...Unfortunately Mike O and company will disagree and keep beating the dead horse until there's nothing left but dust...It's going to be hard to witness the end of another unfortunate era in the Bombers recent past BUT it's inevitable....How do you NOT score a td. in quarter after quarter of play and try to say we resemble a contender...I don't know how management can look any of the Bomber faithful in the eye and say 'be patient'....It's run out just like Mike O'Shea's time with the club is rapidly doing...Something better be papered over and quick because by the look of the crowd last night it's gonna get worse attendance wise...Rebuild yes....and start with the quarterback...
