Why do the leos unis' make them look like they all lost a lot of weight... pencil like..Optical illusion??? In any event it looks like Wally world has come back down to earth, as Jennings started to fade, while old Ray found some reserve gas.... I think they're pretty evenly matched...Lulay looked good ...Could there be a change in the qb. order there???
-
A part of this team woke up....The bench looked alive (as opposed to lacklustre) and you could see the tenacity in their faces...They were not going to let this one slip away...More of that and we should be okay and Mike O can start unpacking one of his bags....This is a tough start to the season BUT with that kind of effort, no matter how unorganized at times it seemed, we'll win our share of games...A much happier Bomber fan today.
-
WELL THAT WAS A HECKUVA LOT BETTER....Still have a lot of work to do with this team BUT a lot better effort gets the win (tried to give it away a few times) but we hang on...The pressure valve has popped and we can breathe a little now.
-
The players want to come here alright (maybe it's the country club atmosphere) BUT the readiness to play for Mikey, seems fleeting at times...They don't seem to get going till the second half...you know after we're down a couple of tds' and the horse has left the barn..(literally in Cal.) O'Shea says they're prepared but we have to kinda...sorta ..........wait for it..Much like the promises that this team will get better in the long run....It's been one helluva long run so far.
-
Mid season firing of O'Shea is like saying the season will be done... I don't have the confidence in Lapo to salvage the rest of another losing season if we wait that long...MIGHT have a shot IF we can MOS now.... It's a 'big maybe' but I'm afraid that's all we have with this club at present....a lot of maybe's..

Sick and tired of hearing about people who ran this club in the past as being the problem of TODAY...there's definitely something wrong with the way things are being run NOW...I don't care how you want to dance around it...the head coach is very suspect and a fine example of that was the non-challenge of Cal. receiver dropping a pass out of bounds, that was definitely challengeable at least.... We then let the stumps get a quick play off and our coach was left with his jaw hanging open...Same thing happened last year along with poor clock management and it seems we don't care about those little things as nothing has been done to correct it...I'm not fooled by the last part of the game success, as it was all garbage time as far as I was concerned...Cal. was just playing at half speed at the juncture of the game BUT the last play...last sack of the game on Willy, was the real indication of the play throughout...This team is a dumpster fire and headed for the cellar...What can be done now???Fire O'Shea he is not head coach material...I've hung with this guy hoping that he'll turn this club around...Obviously I was fooling myself as O'Shea was fooling the locals as being a head coach...Players like him....that's great but that has got us sweet bippy and looking at another failed year...Something better get done or IGF is going to resemble a chasm of empty.

Bring a team with a qb. and a coach would be a start and is one key....What I'm seeing out there tonight ain't working.

....Yeah.... a tank with one bad tread....He did look sharp part of the time last night but the long season is going to takes it's toll. -
Week 2 Other Games (Als vs Ott Sask vs TO Ham vs BC)
Stickem replied to Jpan85's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Durant was shaking the dust off and was looking like the ol Darian, then his bad leg kicked in....He was limping notably when he left at the half...Miraculously though (ahem) he came out throwing strikes again until the last quarter...Was it that he was not in game shape or was his torn Achilles starting to act up...?? Personally I don't think he makes the year..He's one wrong move on that leg and he could be done .. He clearly can't plant and throw the long ball and chooses to dink and dunk down field...If he goes down the riders, if they weren't in trouble before, will certainly be behind the eight ball...Enough about rider troubles...we have a few of our own and I hope our qb. snaps out of it today...We need this win badly. -
Number 1 is get over this psychological bent that 'we never win there'...I don't know how many times I've heard, read or picked-up somewhere is that 'we might as well mail in the 2 points and stay home'...I hope none of the players read or pick-up on that crap and take it to heart...The stumps are a very beatable club...Just get in there and do it...We have the talent and looking at their lineup for tomorrow shouldn't scare anyone.
-
Hellman that's for sure...this guy will spread their D and then some....(boredom setting in I guess, to come up with that)
-
Here's a crazy thought to add to the disillusionment...How about trading for Travis Lulay ....Sound crazy???not according to the rumourville and Pedersen in Regina...He says Bombers are talking to the Leos and that another club is involved.....This could be someone dreaming up a crazy scenario to further drive us into depression...orrrrrr maybe not.
-
And that might be best for everyone concerned.

In the second half when the Als were still catchable, I was watching Lapo at the bench when Willy over threw the receiver once again...I don't know what was going on in his head but he looked as shell shocked as Willy...I'm sure he was thinking...'maybe I should have kept my gig at tsn'...Promised land looks a long way off at the present and I wish I could say 'It'll be a lot better next game' BUT we've been down this bloody road so many times I'm losing track..If fans are down this much after our first beating...what are they going to be like if this crap continues into game 2,3,4,5,...I don't like where this is going but it could be a reality.
-
How long do we keep saying this...till Labour Day....We have a tough schedule on the horizon and this so called 'very beatable team' stuffed us...Don't like what I see coming and neither do most of the Bomber faithful..

Bombers Opener June 24 ... (also Laine Day!)

IF the Als. were supposed to be a bad team and occupy the basement, where the hell does that leave us...Willy stunk the joint out...People were saying he didn't look good in camp and he continues to regress..I wouldn't keep him behind centre if he starts the next game like he did this one...'Short leash' him and give Nichols a shot...I don't know if it will be much of an improvement but we have to shake this guy up...Franklin is available apparently in Edm.....Maybe we should be the ones inquiring instead of the riders...Other than Harris, Jace Davis, and Randle and to some extent Ryan Smith we looked like crap to put it mildly...Medlock atoned for his first miss with the 58 yarder and looked alright...after that...not much...I know we'll hear the same ol story....it takes time to jell...Well that is true to some extent but I know one thing...the patience in Bomberland is wearing awful thin and if this club plays like this in the next 5 games, we'll be O-fer and Mike O better start packing his bags. -

Most replies from Jonsie are 'incoherent'...orrr he doesn't reply at all and refuses to shake your hand...Guys a real 'pip'...( what I'd like to say starts with p' also but has a couple more letters and could be described as being a little more 'prickly') -

Jump it Jones....if he doesn't ..lol ...when Durant goes down they'll have nothing that resembles a qb. in 16'... I think it's the only deal that'll be acceptable to the banjo pickers and grinners...Steep ..yes, but the only way to go for a team boxed into a corner. Pull the trigger Jonesie... -
Week 1 Other Games Thread (TO/Ham Edm/Ott BC/Cgy

Ham. was playing pitch and catch with ease...Stubler looks old...Ray looks old, and Barker is getting greyer... No amount of 'pinball jumping up and down' is going to change that..The score could have been much more lopsided if the Cats felt like running it up...T.O. has a lot of work to do to put it mildly.. -

So reporters do get it wrong sometimes (lol) Referring to Penton in the Richardson case...Guess we'll have to wait and see if the concern is overblown or underestimated by Bauming, with regard to the ' tweak'..Concerning nonetheless...Could be Flanders on Fri??? He did have a good game against the Als. last time out...Rather have Harris healthy though. -

'Appears' to have stretched his hammy???Is this the same reporter who said Richardson was done for the year??...I think we have to wait on this one.
