I meant losing him generally affected our defensive play after we started shifting guys around..His return , if totally recovered, makes us a lot better defensively, although we won't know that till tc.
-
I see your point ..Venable would/should be an afterthought but very young and talented...When Randle went down last year we were really hurting in that position but if he returns to his previous play, we should be set...Bourke would help us on the o line, however not long term and he's usually a late signing by the Als... Most likely trying to maximize his worth...Still a lot of good fa's out there this close to the wire...I'm sure we're going to be in on a lot of them..
-
Not much interest to us but Stefan Logan has re-upped with the Als...Could this mean that Mont. will let one of their better fa's walk...either Bourke or Venable????They are running out of cash quick after the Carter signing...I know Bourke usually waits till the last min. and re-signs BUT Venable is another story...Could we have interest??

according to the freep, Medlock is definitely a target....how realistic a target is anyones guess..Cats are not going to let this guy go without a money fight....
-
I have to imagine how disheartened Walters and O'Shea must have been every time Moore pulled off a nice grab, only to come up nicked and out of action...Big money spent on a player that turned out badly...I don't blame the Bombers for moving on but you have to know that Willy must be affected a bit as Moore was a friend and an offseason receiving target for him when he worked out...Business is business and I'm sure Drew will be the first to acknowledge that and get a big lift when Weston shows up in the locker room..We're moving on up.....and no I'm not going to insert the ol Jeffersons theme song...Been a good day with the Dressler signing and now Kyle has to figure in a few more fa signings.
-
It's going to be a lot of fun watching Lapo and Dress working on schemes together and finally getting some respect for our receiving corps from the opposition...Make a mistake covering this guy and it's .. bye bye see you in the end zone.
-
We just got better in the receiving dept. BIGTIME.
-
Rumour and rumour only....Sask. board says that Dressler will sign with us and it'll get done today...How much can you believe from those guys??? We'll see...they say their source is pretty reliable...I hope it's not a cousin of a cousin that lives in the sticks and needs dental work..
-
Good signing...I like Lou....rough and tough and hard to bluff...He's a good un'

I wonder what the info. is that Dress needs....I'm going to use the 'friendly' handle for him as it appears we definitely have our foot in the door with this signing, as opposed to a foot in our mouth...Sounds like a contract could get done very soon,as long as the information he needs is forthcoming.......signed cautiously optimistic.

Pass on Messam....Harris and Marshal looks pretty decent to me in the backfield and Harris has the same passport as Messam AND a lot better hands.

I think they signed Chick just with that in mind...IF Laurent hasn't been re-signed by Feb. 9th, you can bet there is going to be some tremendous offers coming in for Laurent....more than what the Cats can stomach...I hope we are one of the bigger forces in driving that price up if not the biggest. -
Lawless reporting that Chick has signed with Hamilton.....One down..So what's with Dressler???
-
The glimmer is slimmer after that one...Very disappointing after the potential we showed at the end of last year...About the only thing to come out of this season is a higher draft pic...Way to go Chevy and company.

Maybe our interest in Carter diminished when he said he'd only sign a 1 year deal?....In any event I always thought that's where he'd land if he returned....back in poutineville.. -
I hope this is not another 'we liked your offer but' something along the lines of Stubler, who was all set to come here till Huffer gave him a call and we bid him adios...I hope the hell we're not getting played.
-
Edge the stumps out Walters and give the Peg and Bomber fans a badly needed lift, we haven't seen in these parts for awhile...I think we're close ,and when it comes down to the nitty gritty, we'll come out on top...I'm pretty sure our offer is a good one and Walters won't this slip away...

So with Rogers gonzo, do the stamps up the ante for Dressler....If they don't have anyone else on their radar...they could...We need to stay on top of this one.. -
If you could only break the bank on one player....

....I'm going with Dressler because he is a known commodity and will most likely finish his career here......Carter would be nice but very expensive and who's to say he doesn't jump back to the NFL first chance he gets.... 'other' would be Laurent...he's a real difference maker and I would be more than happy to land him or Capicciotti -

I wonder if the talks are going as well as the talks that they had previously with Dressler and Chick...Those negotiations apparently were going well also.. -

Reading some of the comments on here about Brendan Taman is quite laughable...We know/knew only too well his penchant for getting a deal done, that looks acceptable on the surface, but was flawed and sadly lacking, when reality struck home...I don't know how many deals he made when he was here, for draft pics that yielded very little...I'd say very 'questionable' was his abilities as gm but the riders signed him anyway...Now the riders and their fans see where he actually put their franchise...Mortgaged their future (see lack of Canadian talent) and drew up nightmarish contracts that are now coming back to haunt them...All on Taman the 'napkin king', ...Reality has struck riderville. BIG told ya so rider fans. -
Moore has been a big disappointment...too many injuries and very little production for what we are/were paying him...Too bad it didn't work out but it looks like the Bombers are moving on from Moore... Also not surprising at all, at present, considering the talks with Dressler, which if I hazard a guess is going well.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that Durant could be history in Regina IF he is not prepared to take a significant salary hit....Jones is a guy that doesn't fool around (witness the deletion of household names Dressler and Chick)...Durant is an ageing qb. with injury problems and I think the writing is on the wall...Play for less or play somewhere else would be a Jones take on Darian...I don't know how much cap space the riders have but I see them making a play for argo qb. Harris...The Tennessee gambler is going all in. -

Maybe Dressler isn't that young anymore but he still has a lot of upside...Couldn't go that wrong with the vet presence and wouldn't that just po' the rider fans to no end...Willy throwing bombs to Dressler and putting up big numbers certainly does it for me...Go get him Walters...Chick would be another guy to consider...He certainly has a lot of game left and would be worth a shot..Things are starting to heat up. -

We had the least amount of players to re-up and we should have some extra dough to play with...Even after the release of 19 players (more than we had to start with) riders still have a bunch of guys to re-sign and some hefty vet. contracts...I see some nice talent being dropped in riderville and I see a lot of gms. smelling blood in the water... That's just one club and it's going to get very interesting as the days dwindle down to fa.
