Chad Johnson just can't help himself ...
Stickem replied to IC Khari's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Another washed-up guy using his personality to collect a cheque. I don't think he's selling many extra tix in Mont. but he's sure selling himself. When is the CFL going to learn that most of these former so-called 'great' nfl guys coming up here, are end of story guys. Looks good on Poop though. -
Which Coach gets an early paid Vacation?
Stickem replied to Bomber_fanaddict's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
It's hard to say who'll be the first to get the pink slip. It's no secret that Braley is looking to divest himself of a CFL team or teams, I don't think he'd be front and centre on a firing of Benevides. I don't think Braley is that interested in the internal workings of the club anymore. He'll get his bucks even if he had a fencepost with hair behind the bench. Now if you're talking Buono, that whole scenario changes. You can bet Wally is ready to drop the axe, if there is a couple more bad losses. I say Benevides goes before Higgins, who could also be hanging on by the skin of his teeth right about now. We'll see. -
Are the Bombers going to change the way the league thinks?
Stickem replied to Mike's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Not too much more you could add to this Mike. Well done. It's about time our Canadian talent are getting the break they deserve. I'd like to see a little more emphasis on canuck qbs., but I guess that's a bit down the road. I'm sure we have another Russ Jackson somewhere in the land or there will be, we just have to give them an opportunity, like we've done for other positions. Time will tell. -
Cactus Jack and Matheson. Very synonymous with the teams past. Excellent in their field and two very different characters. I got a big laugh out of Cactus and his play by play. Sometimes he had the wrong teams on the field, but that was Jack. The guy was just a tremendous personality who enjoyed the game and wasn't shy in the early days to 'tip a few'. Miss him a lot and what they brought to the media in the Peg.

And dbs. in the league have their eyes go wide when they seen Nic Lewis coming down the track (at least they used to). Wait till we get Fitz at full throttle in the future. They better clear the track. Luv this guy and the dimension he brings and what this team has missed for a very long time.

shhhhh..nobodys noticing down south...yet. Just don't let him talk to that Ryan kid we had in here a few years ago.

Lawless: Trade Glenn January for Canadians
Stickem replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
If that's the best Lawless can come up with to improve this team, then mental midget is a very apt description for Mr. Lawless. Good bloody grief. -
Rbs. are supposed to be easy to find. Start looking, cuz Grigsby is below average. He allowed a clear path to Drew on more than one occasion. I could forgive that somehwat if he was ripping up the field. Ain't the case. Get someone else in there pronto.

Some rider fans were saying that Neufeld wasn't top notch and they could easily get over losing him. Seems he's working out pretty good for us. (why are we placing so much importance on what rider fans say anyway). Why would Austin in Ham. have pursued Kromah in fa. if he thought the guy was done. You really gotta read between the lines when it comes to rider fans opinions...especially Nates.

No denying Willy is one cool customer. This kid has star written all over him and we'd be wise to sign him to a long term contract. The pass to Felino -G was wonky but it sure was on the money where it had to be..Keep it going Drew and this season is going to be a great one to remember.

Sometimes there seems to be a frantic effort by the local media, to bury the Bombers before the season or even tc gets underway. They base everything on the previous years performance, forgetting in this 9 team league, huge turnarounds are not an impossibility. This has been proven in the past. I have to laugh at all the bogus prognostications, about coaching changes (who they don't know) or player changes (which they really have no real handle on) are all trotted out as skeptical and failing because of a last years performance. It almost appears that the media wants to go negative no matter what, and really as local reporters, should be giving them support. I guess it's 'show me the money' type of attitude with a lot of these guys and I think this year the Bomber brass and team are about to 'show them the moola'. It'll look good on guys like Freezer and Wiceck.

We can win in Mont. with Marve OR Brohm. Prefer Willy though but all is well with Bryant Turner back in the lineup. Turner can beat the hell out of the Als. all by himself. And anyone questioning my take, I'll suggest it's about as accurate as Nasty Nates. lol

Whoever did these rankings obviously didn't watch any of the games or were drunk. All I can say is, what a bunch of junk.
-
Excellent analysis do or die. I'm also picking a west sweep. The 'west is best' take, a lot of fans are uttering, is definitely front and centre....for now.
-
We shouldn't be tinkering with the o line period. We're just getting off the ground ourselves, why would we want to better another team in that dept. Let them swing in the wind like we had to and go find some help. Good luck to them.
-
After watching Collaros and comparing him to our guy Willy after the first start, I'm sure glad we signed Willy. Maybe Danny Mac really does know qbs. Of course that sieve of an o line Ham. is trying to pawn off as starters didn't help Collaros BUT he didn't do a thing to help his own cause. Only one game but if this is any indicator, I'm liking our chances of success this season.

Some players have a very hard time admitting to themselves that they are done. Having said that watch him sign somewhere else and try to make a point, that we made a mistake. Hopefully we haven't.
-
How many times have we seen this picture before. Glenn has to come through and he chucks it up for the opposition. He will be just as Glenn always is, a mediocre qb. who can't finish. Lions will be looking for a qb. soon and I would expect Wally to be glancing at our roster. Now that's a switch. lol
-
Too bad it didn't work out. I knew there was something up when during tc O'Shea told the media, that Banks told him he was 'taking a day off' and Mike didn't know what that meant. Seems to have been some conflict there.Koreys experience was/is an asset but when ol father time catches up, the writing is on the wall. Younger guys coming on board tipped the scales I guess. I don't think we'll get much in a trade but I imagine Walters will give it a go. This signing was a bust. We move on.

Travis Lulay to begin season on six game IR
Stickem replied to Mr. Perfect's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
The leos better pray that Glenn stays upright or it could be a long year in lotus land. It's being reported that Lulay should have taken a year to rehab. You hate to see players of his calibre out for any length of time but another hit on that arm and his career could be over. -
Hey bluto...we're here sooner than you think. lol. I think the Bombers have been badly underestimated.
-
What are you trying to do to an ol man, give me a heart attack. Cheeky.
-
Hinse, really good signing. Now as someone suggested go get Peach. 4 canucks on the o line would be definite boost for us, if we could get this done. Would Huffer entertain a trade for Peach and if so what do we part with?
-
'I didn't want the job...but somebody had to', pretty much sums it up. He was forced to take on a bad team with all of it's 'lacking talent' and yet he ran head long into it. Burkes brilliance is shining through right there. Knowing full well (in his estimation) that the Bomber head coaching job and team, would be nothing but an anchor in his future, he decided to take it on anyway. I don't know Tim, d co-ordinator looks to be the pinnacle of your abilities. Stick with it.

I don't think Marve has any knees left. You wouldn't know it by the way he took off up the field to move the chains last night. If he can continue to impress against the stumps, I could become a big fan of his in a hurry. Accurately throwing the rock on a rope is a gift. I hope he can keep it going.
