Regarding retaining of draft pics.......I guess we've done fairly well judging by the talent we have retained and the Cup games we've played in recently....Facts and figures should ,such as this, equate to success on the field ....as that's what the name of the game is....Nice to retain all high level pics ....but if you're continually treading water as a club...what good are they....So many variables besides numbers

Haven't done it yet.....BUT my old pins are really starting to give me a lot of trouble....especially on stairs....A lot of mileage and hits have finally caught up...The doc makes it sound fairly simple ....makes it sound like a cake walk BUT I'm always a little skeptical.....X-Rays show my cartilage in the knees has disappeared....Guess one day I'll have to bite the bullet

I hate to say it but too many of the well heeled corps....such as this is, the club just becomes a tax write off.....I wish it were much more AND it can be with the right owner and marketing....We'll see....Right now it's Quebecor that has stood up, maybe there's other people interested.....big maybe

I feel sorry for Bowness ....who had things going pretty good at the start of the year....I'm pretty sure he thought he'd get some backing for a playoff run BUT the gm didn't deliver ....The time was now when we have the talent to do something in the playoffs but Chevy couldn't get it done....Is it 100 percent his fault ....no....but the effort made was poor to nonexistent to give the current team a boost .....I have a bad feeling this club will now slip right out of the playoff picture AND if that happens a review of the club from top to bottom has to be in order ...IF TrueNorth sees no alternative but to keep the current gm in place ....then I don't like the future of this club going forward....Slip....slip slidin away

........Which brings us to, and I know this is hockey BUT why is an NHL team being considered in failed Atlanta before Quebec city......IF the Nordiques would've been marketed properly , I think they'd still be there....We need more Canadian teams than we do another American club.......Guess the powers that be in the nhl just can't wrap their heads around another Canadian expansion

My gawd you can't even crack a joke about Quebec without having somebody getting their shorts in a knot....Cripes if that little suggestion about renaming a team ...said in a jokingly kind of way is offensive....whoah....My brother-in-law is from Trois Reviere and he would've laughed at that suggestion...Too bad he wasn't still with us today ....he'd probably say ....lighten-up ....

Yes.....I want to feel like we're a beaten down club forever....AND we'll never be a Cup winner .... cuz we're such a 'never want to be a destination' club ...and we are just plain no good as a place to be with no future....Bring out the whip now cuz I need a few lashes....We are definitely a bugger for punishment....and deserve nothing......................... Certainly there are situations where it becomes too expensive and would be the death knell of a gm to enter deals where it's too expensive and do not make sense BUT you just gave one like the Dubois move...What I don't agree with is giving up the 'probably assets' you mentioned to make that move to obtain Chychrun....We were apparently offering more than Ottawa (what that consisted of would only be known by Chevy) BUT it had to be significant....and yet the deal failed.....Are you telling me that Ottawa is a better market than Winnipeg and that's the reason it didn't work , because if it is, I can guarantee that 'berg' doesn't have anything on the Peg...So we were willing to give up assets and still came up empty....Something went wrong and I hope the gm has answers as to why it ended that way

I agree with the 'stacked deck' comment BUT in reality if we are only depending on the draft/develop and retain....then we're hooped from ever becoming a Cup winner.....There isn't one club from cellar dweller to the echelon teams that don't try and strengthen through trade.....IF it's beneficial and improves your club ....you do it or risk the label of 'not a team willing to go the extra mile to succeed'....Certainly there's a point where acquiring a player through a trade does not equate to a benefit monetarily, or make sense finanacially BUT you have to be prepared to do everything you can to improve a club like the Jets are presently in the standings..... or risk being out of the winners circle forever

AND if that's the best ...time to move on....We're not part of the NHL to give a guy a job in perpetuity ...produce or move along....We're stagnant and that's a reason why players see us as a dead end....New blood needed and there comes a time when change is needed

Time to have a really good look at Chevy's future with this club................................??
