Brendan 'napkin' Taman had a penchant for trading away our top draft pics in hopes of creating a winner....didn't work...In fact it set us back years in the Canuck talent dept.....He did have a speedy rollodex handy when his latest effort didnt work and came up with a couple of good 'fill ins'....but it all seemed so weak.......Will he do a better job in Ottawa??? Hard to teach an old dog new tricks but maybe he still has a few up his sleeve ....Lapo better keep an eye on him though, and when he starts eyeing up the Redblacks high pic's; Paul better rein him in..

Nichols saved that game with as clean as a stop that you could want...Perfect position and one helluva play...It was so clean that the ref didn't even hesitate to point .....'return to your huddle cats and take your three cuz the Bombers want this one more than ye' ..Of course it wasn't said but I think every Cat fan in the stadium...including their coach went ..'UH OH'.......We just got to have that little db back for the 3 peat in 22'....We don't get that shot in OT if Nichols doesn't make that stop.....

Those Edm. teams were cash heavy in those days....There was no sms at the time and they were making all kinds of coin and spent it on top tier players...much to the chagrin of the rest of the league...I believe that was the reason the league instituted the sms so there was more of an even playing field.....It wasn't long after that the schmoes came back down to earth, when they only had to spend what everyone else in the league had to invest in players....Today it's not a money problem that has sunk them to new depths ....it's more a personnell problem in the coaching and running of the club...poor hiring choices....And with that we might lose a real good one to that club as Ted Goveia is headed there for a GM interview today......All I can say is , from my biased point of view......don't take it Ted....

The club needs a new voice.....I agree....the song Paul was singing was getting a little stale.....The timing is strange ....but like one politician who took a walk in the snow, something obviously became crystal clear....the Jets were underperforming ...and Maurice was not getting the most required out of the team....I think it's best that Paul pulled the plug before someone else did....He leaves a class act and his leaving will most likely end in some sort of rejevenation of the Jets......just how much and who the next permenant head guy will be is /are the next big perplexing questions

IF we can retain the bulk of our fa's this offseason, it will be because of coach Mike O'Shea....Players want to be here....and it's because of Mike O....a winner all the way

I still chuckle at a few musings by Nasty that were actually quite funny''''I think it was on the stumps board and the talk was about their management personnel and one poster wanted to know what happened to a particular coach.....Nate's comment was....'oh they just made him vice president of standing around'....Lyle E Style could be funny at times.....and then become quite annoying...I think he has infested every CFL board in the country lol

Well it was great fun with regard to Lyle (Morris of Osborne St.), until the other Lyle (Bauer) threatened to physically acost him and punch his lights out......Whatever happened to Morris (Lyle) anyway.....He seems to have fallen off the map....or did Bauer scare him out of the province

I'll take this..............This team has the best D ever and we had some great ones.....especially in the Grant years.....The teams of the early sixties were very dominant......I remember a Bomber player on radio saying, that when they were suiting up for a game in Saskabush, he asked the rest of the guys 'so how much do we want to beat these yokels by tonight'....Arrogant .....maybe but you have to be damn good to back up the arrogance....We were humming along in those years ...we got spoiled and thought Cups were just an automatic for the Grant teams.....UNTIL....the news broke on the radio ...Bud is taking the head coaching job in Minnesota for the Vikes.....The fans went nuts....couldn't believe it BUT that's football and it's progression....One thing I do know is those teams from those years were not forgotten for a very long time....and Bud never forgot us ...We were that good AND maybe O'Shea and company ain't done yet??
