Talking burgers....I used to think that the Salisbury House had a pretty good burger....and Kelekis in the north end ...but then I'm from the Doo-*** era ....Went to an AW on Van. Island when I first arrived, and thought it had a pretty good burg....and noticed they had an old time picture on their wall of the first AW in Wpg. that I can remember ...It was in the lot of the old stadium beside Polo Park .....Wow...that's going back some...Is the Millionaire Drive Inn still in operation or the Dog &Suds on McPhillips....they also had a good burger going on back in the day....Gotta stop now.....getting hungry

Jim Van Pelt....the guy who took Ploen's job in tc ....This guy at it all ,until he suffered a shoulder separation against the Esks. (Rollie Miles) after he took a shot out of bounds....Walked away from the game and joined the Air Force....I was quite surprised when he made that call....guy had a great future in football

T.O. getting themselves into a mucky financial situation....Having said that and considering the loss of Desjarlis ....should we/could we have a look....Guy has age,experience and the right passport for sure

I hope Sergio has picked up some of the traits off of Mourtada......the unsuccessful ones.....Guess he doesn't believe in the 3 peat orrrrrrr the Elks gave him a big fat contract....along the lines of Kenny...Loser

Pretty desperate IF we have to use Demski on returns....Not because he can't, it's that he's too valuable and his exposure to injury would be increased exponentially....No to Demski on returns

AND last I heard he's still golfing on Van. Island....One helluva athlete was Mr. James

We got a glimpse of Jackson last year and until his unfortunate injury. he was really getting noticed... We had high hopes for this guy, and by the sounds of his eagerness, it's looking good and he could be a solid addition to the receiving corps

I think True North has to do a complete reassessment of the club.....Chevy has to go the way of Maurice....It's obvious to everyone that his day is done in the Peg.....When Paul M. left, the Jets should have finished the job....Get the right people in place and start the rebuild and I hope Chevy has made his last move dealing with player personnel

Doesn't sound good ....Dobson was our first rounder , that could be going up in a puff of smoke....Another league down south causing the CFL some deep concerns....I hope the buggers fold right out of the gate

I beleive we have/had money stashed away for Streve and or Desjarlis if they shook loose....Don't know if that's still the case but I'm pretty sure we're not broke

True.....a middle aged woman from Van. did exactly that ...bought a character house on our corner with a double lot....She fixed up the one she bought, so that it's now worth over a million, and built a new character style house on the lot next to her ....Doubled her money....smart lady.... As far as a Family Dr. is concerned....if you didn't have one when you first moved here...you're out of luck....Ours just retired and we were told by the clinic that we better register with his replacement or start going to a general clinic........Getting crowded for sure

It seems a lot of us are a little skeptical about just going with Mourtada....and after last years performance it's no wonder.....Maybe Leggs has upped his place kicking game...He certainly used to have the leg, is why we drafted him....One can only hope

Yeah.....no kids cuz they all grew up and left....Used to have 2 incomes till the wife retired the day I did.....now it's just scrape buy on a pension...(I know I know ...at least we have one... I feel sorry for the guys heading into retirement in the future)...The boomers sure figured out (after we quit all the protests in the sixties) that you better start putting away cash for post working years....I guess you could say that now we're cash poor and house rich and staring down the marble orchard

Now I'm going to shock you a bit.....I live in the old city quarter in Nanaimo.....bought the house for 250,000 20 yrs. ago....had a guy putting a letter in my mailbox the other day saying he'd buy our house for 800K ....no commission and they'd pay the legal fees.....That's what I call a good investment.....oh and I'm not selling😉

I think drugs permeate the country....Being a port you can expect it to arrive here first on it's way to the Peg and points east.....Does Nanaimo have a drug problem any worse than the rest of the country...I'd say no....Van. is another story I used to live on the same street as the woman (close neighbour actually) who created that addiction....She sure made a bundle...

I left Winnipeg in 68' when my family all moved to Nanaimo....Couldn't take the rain so moved back to the Peg where my heart and a lot of my family still resided.....I eventually went back to Nanaimo and got a job with the City and am now retired there myself...Do I miss those 40 below days....nope but it sure was a big change moving from West Kildonan, where I grew up, to the coast, where Wpg's municipality was bigger than the City of Nanaimo ...It's a lot bigger now and apparently one of the fastest growing cities in the country....Andrew Harris played for the Raiders( where he got his start) just down the street from where I live....Didn't know that he would eventually move back and play for the Bombers at the time, but was happy when he did ..Anyway there's a few more connections on the Island to the Peg your dad might not be aware of ....Gerry James lives just up the highway from me and Randy Bachman (who I went to school with in the Peg) lives a short ferry ride from Nanaimo ..Small world sometimes

So is he Darvin's replacement.....orrrrrrrr could he be another Kenny....???? sure has the nice soft hands....The db has some baggage but as long as he's checked it at the door ....might be worth a good look

It's tough turning on your own BUT it seems that's the way Harris wants to play this.....If he would have been a little more accomodating ....as we were.... he'd still be here....I see we only play T.O. in the big smoke this year......All I can say is that'll be a slobber knocker and when the dust settles we'll leave with the 2 pts.

We could use him as we aren't exactly set in the back-up qb. dept......He certainly worked well with Zack and his running ability adds a lot....We could bring him in as a well paid back-up....re-establish himself and look around next year for a club needing a No 1.....IF he becomes available (apparently his nfl pr time is running out) I hope we make a decent effort in bringing him back

Duron Carters contract includes bonuses for interceptions...... I wonder if they have a payout of more cash IF he doesn't display any flakiness or bone headed conduct.....

He's just not physical enough............that's a new one.....I wasn't really sold on the guy anyway after watching his performances with other clubs.....There's better out there

I hope Streve shows up.....Don't even know that it's possible .....yet ... but IF that chance arises we should do a happy dance and get him back in BluenGold

What... no kudos for overpaying Kenny.....lol......It's going to be a laugher in Edm., under Jones and his remarkable old time moves...Lawler better live up to his billing or he might find himself on D and Duron in his spot
