Way to go Willie.....He gets it...the team and league are in survival mode....Bombers have a great core of players....Bodes well for us again this year IF everything goes well with the vaccinations and we get off the ground....Gotta believe it will
-
Guess Sayles doesn't like to be on a winner and winning Cups....Hard to figure BUT Kyle must have his reasons....Maybe Sayles was looking for a 3 yr. deal and we didn't want to go down that road
-
Guys are stepping up for a haircut....has to happen to make this season work (hopefully there is one)....Walters is working these contracts befitting of the time....One year contracts that can be renegotiated in a better time is the way to go....Everyone in the league is going to have to pull together and even then it's going to be touch and go...I expect Andrew to be next and I don't see a problem...He's the guy that makes this club go and you can never part with the heart...Go Kyle
-
IF my agent is cooking up crap to feed to the media.....there's the door buddy....It seems there's a large chasm between Laine and his agent...I believe a new agent will be employed soon by Patrik...it would be in his best interest
-
Streve had a rough outing yesterday...no doubt about that....It looks like he is more suited to OUR game than the hyped up league to the south....Chris may be given another shot and if not successful he most likely will be looking at coming back to the CFL ...We shall see

Using a race car analogy for 19' ...we had a Cadillac of a team that seemed to be purring along...ran into a few bumps in the road and added a Michael Schumaker (Collaros) to take the wheel when our other drivers couldn't go...We turned up the heat in the stretch and came away with the big prize....I felt all year we had a winner that could take it all...we just needed that one piece behind centre and it came along at just the right time...Like all others I was a tad skeptical when we brought in Zach BUT in the final game at IG against Cal. and Collaros chucked that beauty to Adams in the endzone with Darvin doing the tightrope and hauling in that pin point pass for six, I knew we had something special there...The rest just fell into place...We had a great bunch of guys in 19'...still have IF we can reup them....Hopefully we can retain most (would like them all) and still pull off a repeat....It's still going on strong with this club and not impossible to repeat....Kyle must really be burning the midnight oil trying to put that winner back together...With all of the restraints there exists now...it won't be easy but hope springs eternal

I beg to differ.....winning the Cup is a helluva lot better than finishing in the top rung...The whole point to any season is the culmination of it ending in a Grey Cup win....Ask any first place team that finished without the Cup and they'd say ..'yeah it's nice to finish first ...but winning the Cup is the main aim...everything else is anticlimactic '....So there's that AND your statement is incorrect
-
Has anyone got the 'spoof' of the Riders 'too many men Cup loss'... being portrayed as 'Hitler's last days in the bunker'...That was a gem and worthy of a re-post and good laugh
-
Exactly.....I hope he gets a chance in opportunities that present themselves...like in the last game...Failing that we have to find the dough and bring him back here (I know ho ho....would take a Mike Riley type contract and that ain't gonna happen)
-
Regarding the field goal.....the shank says different...He wouldn't have had to kick a 50 yarder IF Streve lines up behind two of those big o line guys and pummels the line....Murray may be a running qb. but not the type Chris is....He's already proven he can get a yard with that club....why not try it again...Piss poor coaching as far as I'm concerned and probably one of the reasons the Cards will be also rans
-
Cripes...Streve could have fallen into the end zone and stretched for the td....And besides he's already run a play where he picked them up a crucial first down...He just doesn't get enough of those chances when I feel he should...Just my take
-
IF I'm an owner, I want some answers as to why I'm putting in a light weight to run a yard when I've got a guy sitting on the bench that could have made the difference in a win instead of a loss....I don't care about the prima donna's whining....It's a team game and you play it as that...I know the nfl has strange ways and most likely wouldn't want to follow any of our schemes (lord gawd no) but I hope one day there'll be some sort of innovator down there that'll break the mold....Kingsbury had that chance and blew it...
-
Cardinals crapped the bed twice in the Patriot game today....Down on the one and instead of putting in Streveler to run it in for a sure td they tried to run it with a light weight back who was stopped cold....Turned the ball over to New England...td pooched.....Cards could have had a go ahead td in the late going but instead of putting in Streve for a sure new set of downs ..crapped out on a wide field goal attempt...,,,game blown...When is Kingsbury going to realize what they have sitting on the bench in Chris ....Big question mark on his calls in that one
-
In judging a coach....NFL or CFL I take into consideration their overall achievements and talent that got them there....I agree if you're just talking CFL...then I have to go with Bud Grant (aka 'the silver fox')still....and the clubs he coached....
-
So Campbell will be wearing two hats....tough job(s) .. If he can muster up what his old man had....might work
-
Wally and the don....good at what they did BUT I never witnessed them get a shot in the NFL like Bud ....never mind make a big success out of it😉
-
Bud Grant was easily the best coach this league has had and ever seen'''He was revolutionary and didn't have to have big money to put together a winner...His Bomber teams won legit and as far as I'm concerned those teams were the winners of greatest cup achievers................Am I biased....hehheh...maybe but the talent on those clubs said it all..Leo Lewis for one...Could have made bigger money in the states and could have easily played there according to Grant...but he chose to stay with an honest straight up coach and winner
-
I think an asterisk should be placed on all of the teams in that Edmonton era of ...'best teams ever', who have won the Cup..We shouldn't forget that they were also the most 'monied' teams because in those years there was no sms...and those Edm. teams had a ton of cash compared to the other clubs of that era....Can you buy a winner??....I think in those days you could...One of the reasons the sms was installed AND it sure bought an end to Edmonton dominance...As much as some hate the sms....it sure brought a more even playing field to the league
-
I think many Bomber fans couldn't get past the fact we should have really won a Cup game against the rider's in 07' and Glenn didn't play...Most fans thought we would've /should've won that one if Kevin was behind centre..Pretty tough to blame a guy who didn't even play ,but the stigma was there....It was just as much Charlie's fault that he broke his arm reaching for a ball that Blink coughed up near the T.O. goal line in the final, but somehow Glenn wore that one...Them's the breaks

Her voice was like someone raking their nails over a chalkboard.....Beatle wrecker

You're right about changing up the qb. in the nfl....they'd rather stink it up entirely rather than switch to a back-up....I see it as money....they're giving their starters bags of dough to win...but a lot of them don't have the talent .....I like our system better where we give our qb's every opportunity to produce and if they don't...out comes the hook....Nfl refuses to do that...Also very few of their teams do not incorporate the type of qb. Chris Streveler is...I believe Arizona used him once in a game successfully...doing what he does best....but if I were Streve I would want more action than that...However the nfl seems to have a bottomless pit of money and I don't Chris has a problem getting in on that action....He'll miss the real football ...which is here...eventually😉
-
Thought we might see some reps. from Streveler ....especially when Arizona was up by a bunch....but no dice.....Chris seems to have shaved his noggin as there was a glimpse of him on the bench ....Do we miss this guy or what...lol...Just like to see him do well... The Cardinals look like they've upped their game....or was Dallas just that bad

According to the tsn talking heads ..potential landing spots for Patrik are Columbus....Detroit....or L.A.....So that's their latest take IF Laine is moved....No mention....not even a guess about who these teams are willing to part with in a trade....Which brings me to, you have to give up great talent to get great talent....How do any one of those clubs mentioned move forward by making a 'saw off ' deal...UNLESS they think they can pull off a shyster deal ..Chevy is not going to part ways with the most liked player on this club for diddly....and he didn't just fall off the turnip truck....We better be talking 'blue chip' for 'blue chip' or someone's arse is gonna be on the line
