  1. I would argue that game might be in 2 weeks against Edmonton... if we go into that game at 4-3 or (hopefully) 5-2 against an Edmonton team that should be 6-1 or 7-0... how we fair against Edm will better determine our "status" in the league...
  2. Santa Anna's on the corner of St Mary's and Vista is my favourite... a hidden gem I love, if you happen to be in Altona there's a little joint called Pizza Haven, it's quite good... Probably not the best in the city but I really love going to ZA Pizza Bistro...if you haven't been there, it's basically a "subway-style" pizza where you pay $12ish and you pick the crust/sauce/toppings... and everything is unlimited... the only drawback is is the wait time... if there's a line up, expect to be waiting at least 30 mins from the time you walk in to the time you leave with your pizza...
  3. might be 3 of 7 soon if Jeffcoat keeps up his play...
  4. I apologize if this was mentioned somewhere else... but I didn't see it... http://3downnation.com/2017/07/31/andy-mulumba-bombers-property-signed-la-rams/ Andy Mulumba signs with the Rams
  5. Listen to it again... you've conveniently cut off the part where he says "unless the Bomber get a quick score and on-side kick"... or something along those lines.... I too was expecting Rod Black to basically call it a game at that point, but he actually leaves the door quite open...
  6. Does it count as "starting to get respect" if the person making the claim also created the rankings... But I always appreciate a CFL blogger... so keep it up!
  7. Just watched that sequence of events on youtube... and wow did the esks have the stripes on their side there... even before the phantom PI call (which came as a result of a review!?!)... BC should've had the ball on what looked like a pretty clear lateral... Reilley threw from the 15 yard line and the wr dropped it at the 14... that call I can live with b/c it was very close so they defer to the on-field call... but that end zone PI was inexcusable...
  8. Completely agree... makes absolutely no sense to have him hold if he can't play... Nichols can hold (he did last year when Dressler was hurt so him and Medlock already have familiarity) and I'm fairly sure The Fever has done holding in the past too...
  9. Kirk Penton's insider article was literally the only thing worth reading in print media the last few years...
  10. I just hope we hear the name Harris a whole lot on Friday night's broadcast.... examples: "Harris is sacked, again!" "Harris takes the hand-off 20 yards for the score!" "Harris is picked off for the third time tonight" "Harris, out of the backfield, makes one tackler miss and he's off to the races. No one will catch him now" "Harris has had pressure in his face all night causing many mistakes" ETC
  11. Had to make an adjustment there for me to agree with your point... Ottawa definitely concerns me... Hamilton, not so much...
  12. Edmonton probably should've used a better prevent defense on this play...
  13. agreed... but is that challengeable??
  14. No one is arguing about that PI call... it was a weak call... similar to some of the weak calls that went in Mtl's favour in the first half... And that angle is exactly what I was talking about... you can see Harris' elbow down... but you can also see the ball in the air with zero proof whatsoever that it is short of the goal line... sorry to break it to ya...
  15. just watched the cfl.ca highlights of this game and you are very correct... Ansah had great coverage on Carter but he just made some fantastic catches... one of those games from Carter that justifies keeping him on the roster despite his asshat personality... now the Riders just wish they could get that every game... And WTF was Sears thinking on that play?... I though people were exaggerating when they said it may have cost them the game... it would've been third down with TO getting the ball nearly in FG range... dumb move by him...
  16. There is definitely one angle where you can clearly see Harris' elbow down... however, it is from the end zone going straight up field (to the north)... you can also see Harris holding the ball up in the air from that replay... it is literally impossible to tell where the ball is at that angle... so if that's the "proof" that someone wants to hang their hat on for a "objective opinion"... good for them, I guess... Also "I have a more objective mind than all of you" reminds of the classic "I know more about football that all of you combined" from our old pal Tuscaloosa Blue... if you want to immediately lose credibility, I recommend one of these statements...
  17. I was saying to my friend that penalty felt like an "idiot test" kind of penalty... there was absolutely no reason to shove the QB long after he threw the ball... that being said, I don't think it should have been a penalty, but I guess I understand the logic... I normally trust your opinion but this one seems confusing... are you suggesting we play Corney at MLB?... would that be only in a pass rushing capacity?... would that not tip off the offense to what's coming up?.... just wondering if you could expand on this thought...
  18. I disagree... they just kept playing... were they just supposed to give up cuz they were playing against hot garbage?... also consider a lot of back-up were in the game... they wanted to show the coaches what they can do... I wouldn't consider something that already happened in the off-season too crazy of a prediction...
  19. look who's back after a Rider win...
  20. Looks pretty good to me... this is my first visit since the update so I'll probably need to play around a bit before knowing what does and doesn't work... on another note... I don't think enough thanks can be said to Rich and the gang about the great work they do on this site... by far, the best fan site in the CFL... thanks again guys!
  21. This is the first time I've seen that angle... thanks for posting it.... changes my opinion on the play... looks like he led with his helmet the whole time, didn't even get his arms involved
  22. Wow this game was confusing... Mtl OL had given up 3 sacks in 5 games coming in.... and we sacked Durant 5 times.... yet their offense still goes for 500+ yards and pick apart our D... Mtl averaged around 19 points a game coming in with their season high being 23... they had 24 at half time... something NEEDS to be done with this defense... they've given up 40+ points in 3 games this year... and miraculously the team is 2-1 in those games... and on the other side of the ball... Matt Nichols and the offense looked fairly inadequate most of the game... yet Matt's final stat line, looks like that of a HOFer...34/43, 358 yards, 2 TDs, no picks, 22 yards rushing... Harris ends up with 21 touches for 134 yards and 2 TDs... and the reffing... some really bad calls both ways... for those who forget all the calls in Mtl's favour in the first half... my friend and I were joking Al Bradbury (a Winnipeg native) was intentionally "reverse home cooking" just so no one would accuse him of helping the home team... turns out he's just moderately incompetent like most of the league's refs ... and let me get this straight.... twitter/other fans and people were complaining about the Harris TD being the "blown call".... it was one of the few they got right! last thought.... the Chris Ackie RTP call, I thought was fairly incidental... but at least it was consistent... you will never see a QB get hit helmet-to-helmet without a RTP call...
  23. IMO opinion, the only thing, as fans, we are "entitled" to is the team showing up every week and giving 100% on every play... and that should be the coaches main responsibility... any other piece of news or info can stay in house for all I care... I just want my money's worth when the guys step on the field...
  24. then you go back to Harris the next series... I'm sure you've watched him enough in his career to know that he only gets stopped for so long... and I don't love the "fly-sweep" either but it has had decent success for the most part this year...
  25. Is there a brave soul willing to gamble on Hamilton... @Zontar?? As of this post it's 37-0 in favour of Calgary...
