  1. don't hold your breath...
  2. Not really... he was picked up off waivers with the hope he might work out... he was never "the future"... and now he's getting married to (one of the girls from) Jenna Rae Cakes... so it all worked out for him in the end
  3. no, keep your shoes on... let's keep the stink level down...
  4. This CFL.ca guy seems to like him (this article is also 3 months old)... https://www.cfl.ca/2017/02/22/lauriers-boateng-gives-new-meaning-hard-work/ I have no idea if he is any good or not... but I would probably agree with you that he's a good value for the 5th round... If he sucks, no big deal, just release him... if he ends up being a good rotational player or even starter, that's a steal... even if he ends up being a decent special teamer for some years that's a pretty good pick...
  5. I tend to agree... but then I think... if the jets were boring and in the final 4... I could live with boring hockey
  6. should really be two to go... Spooner and Menard-Briere... Gray obviously won't be signing this off-season... unless I'm forgetting someone
  7. Hey, show some class!
  8. That's kind of what I was thinking too... if he was a great special teams player for 10 years and captioned the group, etc... I would definitely not consider that a bust...
  9. Was this Tom and Larry web show happening before Tom started on the 94.3 morning show?
  10. To say he was a bust doesn't mean he was totally useless... to draft a guy in the first round who looks like he could be a starter... and he ends up being a good special teamer for only two years.... that's a bust... sure, had some nice contributions, but the bar is set higher for first round picks... Not going to bother dwelling on it... but I wonder if that would've changed the team's mind on (one of the) Herdman(s) in the 5th or 6th round knowing we were losing Waggoner...
  11. Yeah that was disappointing... I recall he had some nice potential... just looking into these guys a little bit more, they're both quite young and would probably benefit more from some additional seasoning by playing in games than being on the Bombers PR... maybe one day...
  12. I remember a lot of people being stoked about Ritchott as a potential CFL player one day... I watched some of his tape (again, I'll reiterate, I don't pretend to be an expert on this stuff) and I thought a lot of his Jr success had to do with playing against inferior competition... he's also pretty small... but hey, I've been wrong once of twice in my life... Hopefully one of the receivers ends up being PR worthy...
  13. Wrong Tom... I was talking about the Tom (don't know his last name) from Beau, Tom and Frazier...
  14. We can definitely agree on this part... I still may have gone to university but perhaps gone a different direction... I don't really know, try not to dwell in the past too much... hey wait a minute... what's this about not being liked!!
  15. The only way that is possible (I'm sure it probably isn't in this case) is if Edem ends up being a league all-star and the Riders win the cup ... or something to that effect... in which case, that would make it an even better trade for the Riders...
  16. No need to get so personal... I do have a degree and I have a job making far more than the above salary and benefits you have described... it helps when you don't have any particularly useful specialized skills (for some reason my employer doesn't consider "well-liked MBB poster" an important skill-set )... It should also be noted that I did agree with you that there are plenty of ways to make money without a degree... but you can't minimize the value of a degree just b/c there are ways to make money without it... see perfect example from @The Unknown Poster above...
  17. They gave up basically nothing to get him... seems like a good deal for the Riders... I'm not sure having Brouliette or Edem at safety is really making opposing QBs shake anyways...
  18. I don't think that's true at all... sure, there are plenty of ways to get a great paying job without a degree... but in a lot of corporations, having that 3 or 4 year degree is what gets you in the door... Now master's or doctorate degrees... that's a new conversation...
  19. I can't stop thinking about the caps... literally everything was lined up for them to break through to the third round... they had momentum coming off 2 dominant victories... the raucous home crowd... a fairly decimated Pitt line-up... and a date with Ottawa looming... let's be honest, Ottawa is kind of a cinderella right now... who ever emerged from the Pitt/Wash series would be a huge favourite... Everything lined up for Washington to finally make a cup run... and that third period tells you everything you need to know about that core of players...
  20. Personally, I'd be ok bringing in Ricky Foley under two conditions... he makes the minimum possible salary (I'm assuming a veteran minimum is more than league minimum) and earns his way on the team...
  21. my bad... I thought he was somewhere in the 5'10, 230lbs range... the bowling ball sized player.... that makes more sense then...
  22. Isn't he around 230 lbs?... pretty good weight... is height that big of a factor?
  23. cool video... I was super excited to watch Atlanta move to Winnipeg!
  24. dammit I had a long post all ready to go with multiple quotes... then something glitched and I lost it all ... here's a summary: Caps suck, they need to shake up the core (I promise it was more articulate than that )...
  25. I wonder if they try him as a fullback... or the FB/TE type position a lot of CFL teams employ....
