  1. I'm disappointed in this signing... not that I have any particular objection to Kolakowski... by accounts he had a good year in 2023... but if it came down to him or Gray... I'd have preferred Gray... also don't like the potential of blocking Eli or Dobson when both appear ready to be starters.
  2. I get the feeling this might be a made up example... but even if it was true... It wouldn't surprise me if the Bombers just decided to roll with Dobson, Eli, and Richmond in their places and let the incumbents walk... then draft a couple OL to fight for the back up spot.
  3. Would this kicker be considered a global?... I know it says he's from Venezuela but if he played in the NFL and XFL would he be an import?
  4. Probably easier if we call it The Pas... I don't think that name is taken...
  5. When I read this I was thinking it's hard to imagine the Bombers don't have one of those picks... we basically ignored the nationalize Canadian rule all season... Thanks for the answer Jesse.
  6. I wonder if Miller was basically an assistant ST coach this past season... and maybe O'Shea liked what he saw... The team probably also knew Miller was never going to play last year... just kept him on the payroll as a player/coach
  7. I don't think this move happens without Hall being fully on board.... otherwise he probably would've just been let go... I'm excited about these changes... Hopefully Younger can build on what works and add some of his own wrinkles in... Hopefully Miller can bring back or bring in a coverage system that actually works better than what we saw the last couple years
  8. I think people are still bitter about Bighill playing in the Grey Cup when he clearly had no business being out there....as positions evolve, we're seeing less and less need for a "traditional" middle line backer, and more just two LB/versatile athlete type players... I think we would be just fine with Cole, Clements, and Wilson as a primary rotation of LBers... but I do expect to see Bighill back in a prominent role next year
  9. You're forgetting Mace is not the GM... the guy responsible for fixing the o-line is the same guy who has not been able to improve the o-line for the past 3 years...
  10. The fact that you remember this stuff is incredible and mind boggling... always a pleasure to read your Bomber history memories @Taylor Ribbins... unfortunately you father played 10 years before I was born so I'm no use to you... but good luck with your search!
  11. funny that the headline is "Riders say no to Buck"... and in the actual article it basically says we don't actually know who turned down who I just looked it up... They are actually 11 years apart... Buck is 42 and MOS is 53... nevertheless, O'Shea could easily still coach for another 10+ years
  12. Everyone loves to point out how Wally always made the tough decisions and it made his teams better... but Wally decided not to pursue Bighill when he returned from the NFL and decided a 29 year old Andrew Harris was washed up... those two decisions alone are a big reason why we have our two most recent grey cups
  13. pretty sure Bighill is officially under contract for next year too
  14. Rare... but Friesen is 100% correct on this one...
  15. Sold... I'll take 12-14... thanks!
  16. So what's everyone's feelings on this list?... Let's organize this a little better and add my thoughts: Brown - yes Oliveira - yes Jefferson - yes Kolo - no Neufeld - yes Rose - yes with competition for his spot Nichols - yes Woli - yes... unless the team decides to move on and roll with BOLO... I could probably live with that Walker - yes with competition Thomas - no Prukop - yes unless somehow Streveller is in the mix BOLO - yes - see above McCrae - yes with competition Kramdi - yes Jeffcoat - yes - at a reduced salary and reduced work load Hardrick - yes with competition Hansen - yes Hallett - yes Gray - yes Grant - yes Gauthier - yes... special teams only please Miller - can retire Castillo - yes with competition Bryant - if he wants to be back, he's welcome Briggs - can retire Bailey - yes Augustine - no, should be replaceable in the draft Alexander - yes with competition Schoen - yes Lawson - yes Houston - no, please let someone else overpay for his occasional interception Cole - yes Clements - yes Cadwallader - yes Darby - no
  17. funny that both of our sources are Wikipedia... yet they have differing info... but I hope you're right... 12-14 is better than 12-18
  18. This was my source... is this incorrect? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grey_Cup#Champions
  19. Let's put it this way... if you told anyone on this site, pre-game, that we would score 24 points and the Als would not score on D or teams.... 100% would agree that's a guaranteed Bomber victory
  20. First off... quite emotional still two days later... I know I'm as passionate a Bomber fan as there is... and I'm settled down by now... other than the haunting nightmares of a 3rd and 5 lame duck pass that should've been knocked down... but I digress.... Anyways... yeah the 12-18 record isn't ideal, especially considering we could easily be 14-16... and that's not even considering 2007 (no Glenn), 2001 and 1993 (no Dunnigan)... but, it could always be worse... Bombers: 12-18 = .400 win percentage Hamilton: 8-14 = .363 win percentage Ottawa: 1-2 (yeah I know, small sample size) = .333 win percentage and the cream of the crap... Sask: 4-15 = .211 win percentage 😁
  21. It was a play where really only one of two things should've happened... TD pass over the top to Lawler... or TD pass underneath to Demski... instead what happened was an underthrown ball to Lawler which lead to a pick...
  22. I reacted with "sad" a lot in this thread... for those posts I reacted to, if you're wonder why... it's not that you're comment was sad or that I disagreed... it's actually the opposite... it's that I agree but it's sad/disappointing/frustrating that it is coming to this (this was easier that quoting like 15 posts)... It is really the end for Zach as a Bomber?... probably not... but it's becoming very hard to overlook the playoff statistics.. I never truly wanted to believe that O'Shea was hampering the roster with some of his decisions... but playing a clearly injured Bighill was irresponsible... and then the amount of reps that Gauthier was getting in his place... was goddamn mindboggling... Clements and/or Cole should've been getting those reps... you don't rely on a career special teamer to play MLB in the biggest game of the year The defense just didn't look right all night... they made a few plays here and there but generally got worked over by Cody Fajardo... like, that sentence doesn't even make sense... Cody ******* Fajardo ... how the top D in the league got worked over by a below average QB... in the biggest game of the year... just doesn't sit right Changes need to be made... Biggie has been a great leader and monumental player over the past 4 seasons... but he is completely done now... ready to move on... not sure who else is definitively done (probably Thomas) ... but I hope our management team makes the right moves and says good bye to a few of the aging vets this offseason No matter what happens this offseason... I still think the Bombers are the team to beat in the west... we just have to find a way to not lay an egg in the biggest game of the year
  23. This is an odd take… you think if one of the established reporters in Winnipeg (bauming, Hamilton, wyman, etc) asks a tough question, they’ll be banned from the facility?… nothing that’s happened in the ten years that O’Shea has been here leads me to believe that would happen… if anything… it might be more like the media guys are too afraid to fracture they’re relationship… they’re more concerned about being buddy-buddy than getting the “hard scoop”
  24. I think Biggie is for sure out… based on the way guys have been talking about him this week…. Schoen seems extremely unlikely too, unfortunately
  25. McLeod bethel Thompson? Who is signing him? EDIT: I read this thread before reading the thread about him coming back
