  1. I agree... Gary Lawless also reporting the Riders and Bombers in the mix for Eddie Steele... I imagine the Riders have more money to offer but hopefully he sees this as a better opportunity...
  2. I don't see the ratio ever going away... I think if the CFL ever adds another team, a change to the ratio might be in consideration... but that's about it...
  3. Never seen him play? Not even on film??.... anyways, my guess would be they are hoping for one more year out of Ray and have him mentor Willy this season... at that point they'd hope Willy is ready to be the starter in 2018, which I also think is when his contract increases too... he also turns 32 years old and some point in 2018 so if he doesn't seem ready to be a starter at that point he's either out of football or becomes a decent back-up floating around the league...
  4. IMO it's unfair to say he's "failed" thus far... certainly not lived up to expectations... but this is a make or break year for him... need to see something from him going froward... And no, no one said that Etienne would go somewhere else and become a good player...
  5. I don't love the idea of not taking an OL with one of our 2 picks... but the idea of getting 2 guys who could contribute this season is nice... and it depends on who might be available at 15 as well...
  6. I would think Kyle Knox is in the mix as well...
  7. thanks, this is the story I was recalling
  8. I try not to be sexist about sports... but I've watched far too many women's curling matches where the winner was the team that missed the least (as you said above)... as opposed to men's where the winner is typically the team that makes the most... sorry if that offends some but to me that is the reality right now... of course, I do believe there will come a day when that changes for the record, yes I have seen MANY fantastic shots from female curlers... shots I could never even dream of making... but I still find the men's game to be superior in almost every way (save for the looks of the curlers)...
  9. this is exactly what I was thinking... the first couple years he was in the news all the time... the famous Pauls would write about him not doing a good job every other day.... then last year, no one was talking about him... did he start doing his job better? No, of course not. He continued doing everything the same way... but finally, we were seeing results on the field...
  10. I'm pretty sure Simonise is very likely to have NFL opportunities...
  11. Last year there was 3 Manitoban skips at the Scotties... Chelsea Carey for Alta, Jones for Canada and Kerri Einerson for MB...
  12. Trying not to turn this into a curling thread... but I thought it was strange that someone from the gine would come to Manitoba to curl... considering the depth here is significantly better than in Sask... but the rest of the team is Manitoban... and I'll always cheer for the Bison at the Scotties/Brier... Mod Edit: This topic was split off from the Bomber Discussion
  13. For some reason the number 160 is in my head... real or conceived? I'm not sure
  14. I've always been a big fan of Jay and Dan... disappointed when they left... I think a part of the problem with their "comedy" is at TSN it happened very organically and you could tell there was a natural rapport... so trying to translate some of their bits to a new market and new culture just didn't go over well... but like @Atomic said, ESPN is still beating up FS1... and like @Jacquie said, they apparently need to be controversial or adversarial to get ratings... which is why they hired former ESPN employees like Colin Cowherd, Skip Bayless (no idea how this clown gets ratings), and Jason Whitlock...
  15. I've always thought Neufeld would be a perfect 6th man because of his versatility... seems unlikely (or at least less likely) to get hurt if he's only playing sparingly... too bad he's being paid like a starter...
  16. My sources* are telling me Hamilton trades OL Brian Simmons to Montreal for DB Ethan Davis... Montreal has 2 imp tackles now... *via CFL instagram.... clearly I don't have sources... I just wanted to sound cool...
  17. I remember checking out OB during TC last year and the guy who makes up TC reports was posting there..., it was pretty awesome...
  18. Well you got me... I went over just to check it out... it seems like Bennie Thompson literally the only poster.... I also can't tell if he's going for the Gerald Broflovski style trolling (as in, trying to get people riled up for fun) or if he's just clueless... entertaining none the less...
  19. I don't think that's too crazy.... just not here...
  20. this post literally made me laugh out loud... I then felt shame for laughing at this... Sorry a little late, just catching up in the thread....
  21. I have no idea what the point of any of these is... but I thoroughly enjoyed all of them!
  22. Not sure if this has been mentioned anywhere but Lawless is reporting Trestman might be interested in Toronto http://www.tsn.ca/trestman-gauging-interest-for-argos-staff-1.678052
  23. I think that in football, unlike most other sports, positions are almost defined by size... if you gave me a list of 5 random football players and just told me their size, I could probably guess their position (or one of 2 positions: like a guys who's 6'3, 260 is likely a rush end while a guy who's 6'5, 310 could be an OG or DT) so while I agree with you (as I've said here many times).... tackling and positioning ate far more important than size... it's easy to understand why someone sees the size and automatically pigeon-holes them into a position... as for Jackson Jeffcoat (my nominee for best name in the CFL)... I don't really care what his size is... he's been a rush end his entire career, so to me he's a rush end, really no reason to speculate other wise...
  24. there's about a zero to negative zero percent chance that Rex Ryan will be coaching in the CFL any time soon... Despite a personality that some people don't like, he is actually a good football coach... and will absolutely get opportunities to work in TV, if not a DC or another HC job soon enough...
  25. I disagree that it is a negative vote of confidence... I think it's smart move knowing that Harris has yet to play 18 games without injury...
