  1. best group of QBs I've ever seen .... who's the guy beside Elliott? looks like he's wearing #16...
  2. If the (Detroit) Lions don't want Matt anymore... I'd be more than happy to see him in the CFL with the Bombers
  3. I think you missed the joke...
  4. This will never work ....
  5. Yeah, I didn't include the Canadians... which is a whole new conversation... Will Richards finally emerge as a decent options?... will we draft a game ready WR in the first round (unlikely he would be ready from day 1)?... will Kohlert and JFG be back... also, I forgot about Gerrard Sheppard...
  6. Adams, Stafford, Dressler, Smith... probably no Gurley and Denmark will be fighting for a job.... hopefully McDuffie will be in the mix too... should be interesting...
  7. That's the biggest problem... As Rickey Gervais once said (I assume he's not the first person to say this but I'll quote him anyways b/c that's the source I know) "You can have your own opinions but you can't have your own facts"
  8. Breaking News: Al's acquire rights to Darian Durant http://www.cfl.ca/2017/01/13/riders-deal-durants-rights-alouettes/
  9. thanks for the reply... I should've clarified by "legitimate" I mean reliably accurate and credible... doesn't matter what side it comes from, I just want my news to be accurate and credible... seems hard to find these days...
  10. Sorry to start up a month old thread again... but since you mentioned a couple prominent musicians killed/died on Dec 8... I'll assume you're not a metal fan... otherwise you would've included legendary Pantera/Damageplan guitarist Dimebag Darrell (Abbott) who was also shot and killed by a crazed fan on Dec 8, 2004... he was only 38 years old...
  11. I think the troubling part is when this story came out most reactions were "yeah, I could see Trump doing that"... whether true or not... certainly the previous few presidents would have been given the benefit of the doubt (well maybe Bill would be into that kind of stuff too )... It seems so hard these days to trust any news source... I used to rely on sources like the NYT and the Wash Post... what's the most legitimate news source in Canada these days??? National Post?? You literally have to read everything with a grain of salt now...
  12. That's an interesting question... but I think he showed enough that he'll be able to float around for a least a few years in a back-up role... he'd probably be better off working his way up to starter from there...
  13. Going to my first game of the season tonight... so, of course I won't get to see Laine play!
  14. You've actually disproved your point within your own post... You're right, Kyle Walters does have a specific QB budget: $X for starter, $Y for the back up and $Z for the third stringer (obviously there's some fluidity to these numbers)... they couldn't get Glenn signed for $Y so they will try to use that money on a different back-up (or split it between Davis and a new 3rd or something, I'm not a GM)... but either way it has no affect on $X budgeted for the starter... Also, this release doesn't necessarily close the door on Kevin coming back... he may test the market and if there isn't anything else better out there he gives Kyle a call to renegotiate....
  15. You might have the wrong J.... Joe Kennedy was the man behind the Mob connections (If I'm to believe everything I've read and seen, and I have no reason not to...)
  16. wow... good for him... never like to lose quality players to the NFL... but I wish him all the best... The Saints really seem to be dipping into Canada a lot recently... a lot of NFL people think Delvin Breaux is a star in waiting and they're excited about the development of David Onyemata...
  17. The Rooney Rule isn't technically a minority hiring policy... it legislates that teams must interview at least one minority candidate for top positions (HC and up)... a lot of teams find ways to circumvent this rule...
  18. 1) Totally agree... don't care where he comes from, just give me a QB that can play... 2) Don't worry... Chris Jones is single-handedly resetting the market for the good of the CFL... what a hero! Dan Federkeil is the only guy I can think of that would be close to being that type of "loyal"...
  19. I just want to comment on this particular contradiction... if your knee hurts, does it change the way you walk?... if your index finger is busted, does it change the way you type or hand write?...
  20. releasing Bennet tells me that management thinks he is not worth spending resources on... not that they are completely giving up on developing a QB...
  21. I don't know who Brett Tessler is... but you could probably make an argument that Chris Rainy takes that title...
  22. Fun fact: Jeff Tedford is the HC of Fresno State... hence the CFL connection... http://www.fresnobee.com/sports/college/mountain-west/fresno-state/bulldogs-football/article121000313.html
  23. This would work well for TSN too... they could throw in a 60 sec commercial break (b/c let's be honest, they'd use the whole 60 sec whether they need it or not) and when the broadcast resumes we're ready to hear the call and proceed with the game...
  24. So to clarify... you think the Bomber strategy for QBs is to ignore trying to develop one and just hope we can acquire one via trade or FA.... yeah, I'm sure that kind of strategy gets you a front office job in the CFL...
  25. Again, missing the point... Every single Bomber fan agrees with that part I've bolded... so doesn't it make sense to you to keep the a guy who can hold down the fort until this amazing prospect comes along?? Just curious, what's your alternate plan?... sign Durant and hope he has 3 or 4 good years left?... I like that idea, but there are major injury and longevity concerns with Durant (whom I really like as a QB BTW)...
