  1. c'mon, you know what I meant... Corney rotates in at DE and someone else comes in at tackle... just like they did this year...
  2. Re: DL... I think if Cummings leave Padric Scott will adequately fill in... Jake Thomas has been a very good rotational player his entire time here... it's just a matter of finding the right guys to rotate with him.... as some suggested, Corney and Butcher could be options... I wouldn't oppose that, except we have no idea if Butcher is ready to be a CFL lineman...
  3. It is hilariously ironic that they got Ricky Ray (future HOFer, arguably one of the all-time best) for basically a bag of balls.... yet they had to trade the farm for Drew Willy...
  4. Yes and that's why I said I would normally agree with you... but you can't ignore they looked borderline unstoppable when they should have been vulnerable last Sunday...
  5. No doubt he had serious speed early in his career... what defined him was that speed was still 100% in the 4th quarter...
  6. hahaha... I came here to read the responses to this "topic"... I was not disappointed...
  7. Normally I'd agree with you... but a 32-0 halftime lead after a 3 week lay-off suggests otherwise...
  8. If you ever asked Milt, he'll tell you that was the reason he was so great... he says some guys could keep up with him in the 1st quarter but by the time 4th rolled around, no one could match his stamina and fitness... I don't recall if I heard him say that in an interview or in one of the times I met him...
  9. You constantly criticize Mike for being too loyal to his players... sometime warranted... so do you honestly think he would show zero loyalty to the organization that gave him the opportunity?... You really think guys were watching that game and thought "well I never want to play for that team now after the coach showed faith in his kicker"... This argument is so painfully shortsighted and debunked a million times over... where, exactly, are these mystical experienced, winning CFL head coaches just waiting for work??? I thought about taking the @mbrg approach here... but I just wanted to quickly touch on a few of the more insane blunders in this most recent rambling... @J5V you post some great stuff here but I'm wondering if you've just fallen off the edge after this most recent loss... see above post to feel better... I genuinely hope you have a good weekend...
  10. This is just wrong... first of all, our LBers are pretty much the perfect size for each position they play: Wild 6'0 210, Bass 6'1 225, Leggett 6'0 200... but more importantly, size is irrelevant (obviously to an extent, you can't be 5'7 175 and play MLB)... Bass and Wild weren't missing tackles b/c they're too small, they were missing tackles b/c they were positionally unsound and had sloppy execution... He's not the best in the league... but to answer your question.... yes, I have absolute faith he can lead us to a Grey Cup...
  11. yeah I heard that... it would be Franklin, Lynch and DeMarco if Reilly can't go... This one game alone could get Franklin paid big (if he plays)...
  12. that is good news. I was oping he would play but hadn't heard any updates... Hopefully Reilly will be good to go too...
  13. None of this disproves my argument... I agreed his stats were not as good and admitted he took too many penalties... you're not going to get all-star nods based on QB hurries and O-line holding penalties (which he should have got WAY more called in his favour, some games he was held every play)... my point was simply that his play has not dropped as much as his stats suggest... Also, if Westerman put up the same stats this year, everything else being equal... do you still think he gets nominated for 3 team awards?
  14. Also, this might be the first time since... I can't even really remember... I was confident the offense would step up and get those 4 yards needed... but alas...
  15. That's not entirely true... he didn't get the sack stats like he did last year... but he was equally as disruptive in the backfield and had many QB hits (probably too many penalties though)...
  16. I didn't quite jump out of my seat but I had hands in the air celebrating followed immediately by "No way you can call that!"
  17. fair enough... maybe I'm just too PC to get it
  18. I didn't watch the game but heard about the Morrissey hit... so I went to watch the replay this morning... and I was truly shocked at how clean of a hit it was.,.. I was expecting to see a guy get absolutely blown up with some head contact... he simply finished his check and I think could have put more into it than he did.... If you want to get rid of that hit, then just get rid of hitting all together...
  19. Very interesting write-up on Bennet: Might just be the best athlete on the team. He’s lined up at receiver in practice, shown a gun for an arm and would be a dynamo if he played special teams. Uncertain what the club’s plans are for him as all the QBs ahead of him on the depth chart are also prospective free agents. I wonder if they try to bring back Nichols, Glenn as #2, promote Bennet to #3 and start to look for a new developmental guy...
  20. He took a CIS HC gig, correct? I actually thought Knox was going to come in once Bass went down... a little disappointed to see Hurl in there but I guess he was more familiar with the defense (2nd half gameplan - tackle no one!) and has more game experience...
  21. Just curious who this is... Shologan? Ian Logan? Wolverine?
  22. This seems like a good idea... in theory... try and drums up some interest in the dog days of the off-season... like @Rich mentioned, good idea to start it in the gine... if it doesn't work there, it had no chance in Vancouver or Toronto...
  23. I like how we look at the list this year and think, wow I hope we can keep all/most of these guys... in the past I'd look at the FA list and think there's 3 or 4 guys I really want back and rest I don't really care about...
  24. So what you're saying is he's never missed a 61 yarder... That makes sense... if a kicker did not think he could make the kick that would mess with his psyche going into the kick too...
  25. I'm not trying to start an argument about this... but that just doesn't make sense... a PC agenda would be something stupid like calling that Loffler hit a "man's hit" then some PC idiot calling that sexist... or something like that... doesn't matter, I get exactly what you're saying just disagree with your choice of words... no harm, no foul...
