  1. I think a modern day dynasty is no longer 3 or 4 consecutive championships... that just doesn't happen anymore.... something like 3 in 5 years would qualify for me... Patriots: 3 from 2000-2004, Blackhawks: 3 from 2010-2015, SF Giants: 3 from 2010-2014 (I may be slightly off on the years)... these are what I think of as a modern dynasty... EDIT: BTW I'm agreeing with you, not disputing your statement...
  2. Seriously... who the hell is Darryl Stevenson and why is his opinion the most important?... Did Penton intentionally pick someone clueless to try and make the fanbase look stupid??
  3. Why does the CFL have authority to do that?... If Pizza pizza owns those tickets are they not free to do whatever they want with them??
  4. I agree with you but I was just thinking I'm not sure what the best response is... some sort of recognition without admitting... and then HardCoreBlue went and said this... which is just about perfect....
  5. Have they said which division Vegas will be in?... logic would suggest Pacific but I guess they could make a case for central... mainly if the NHL wanted to add Seattle, that would keep it even without moving a team in the future... or they move Arizona over?
  6. I'm not so sure that's true... Chamblin fired Hall and took over the defense... and that was about the point when they took a serious drop...
  7. You're missing the point here... when he originally traded for Ray, it was a great deal... he got one of the best QBs in the league for a bag of balls... but over the past couple years Ray has shown injury concerns and yet Barker chose to stick with Ray rather than hand the keys over to Collaros or Harris...
  8. When you word it like that... definitely Barker... Barker knew what he was getting, a mediocre to average (at best) and potentially broken down QB... and he took on the huge contract and gave up a ton to get him... Walters signed him on potential... sometime that works out, sometimes it's a mistake...
  9. Certainly the most intriguing players on that list are Iannuzzi (I'll never forget that he was drafted 1 spot after Jade Ettienne), Westerman and Elimimian... I would be very surprised if Elimimian does not re-up in BC...
  10. And Calgary is also doing it with 4 Canadians... having Federkeil at a hometown discount doesn't hurt...
  11. 15 win juggernaut... had the division locked up several weeks before the season ended... didn't play particularly well down the stretch but showed up for the playoffs... huge favourite in the GC... vs 8 win underdog... started to click as the season ended... looked good in the playoffs... will be a huge underdog in this game... sound familiar?
  12. c'mon, you know what I meant... Corney rotates in at DE and someone else comes in at tackle... just like they did this year...
  13. Re: DL... I think if Cummings leave Padric Scott will adequately fill in... Jake Thomas has been a very good rotational player his entire time here... it's just a matter of finding the right guys to rotate with him.... as some suggested, Corney and Butcher could be options... I wouldn't oppose that, except we have no idea if Butcher is ready to be a CFL lineman...
  14. It is hilariously ironic that they got Ricky Ray (future HOFer, arguably one of the all-time best) for basically a bag of balls.... yet they had to trade the farm for Drew Willy...
  15. Yes and that's why I said I would normally agree with you... but you can't ignore they looked borderline unstoppable when they should have been vulnerable last Sunday...
  16. No doubt he had serious speed early in his career... what defined him was that speed was still 100% in the 4th quarter...
  17. hahaha... I came here to read the responses to this "topic"... I was not disappointed...
  18. Normally I'd agree with you... but a 32-0 halftime lead after a 3 week lay-off suggests otherwise...
  19. If you ever asked Milt, he'll tell you that was the reason he was so great... he says some guys could keep up with him in the 1st quarter but by the time 4th rolled around, no one could match his stamina and fitness... I don't recall if I heard him say that in an interview or in one of the times I met him...
  20. You constantly criticize Mike for being too loyal to his players... sometime warranted... so do you honestly think he would show zero loyalty to the organization that gave him the opportunity?... You really think guys were watching that game and thought "well I never want to play for that team now after the coach showed faith in his kicker"... This argument is so painfully shortsighted and debunked a million times over... where, exactly, are these mystical experienced, winning CFL head coaches just waiting for work??? I thought about taking the @mbrg approach here... but I just wanted to quickly touch on a few of the more insane blunders in this most recent rambling... @J5V you post some great stuff here but I'm wondering if you've just fallen off the edge after this most recent loss... see above post to feel better... I genuinely hope you have a good weekend...
  21. This is just wrong... first of all, our LBers are pretty much the perfect size for each position they play: Wild 6'0 210, Bass 6'1 225, Leggett 6'0 200... but more importantly, size is irrelevant (obviously to an extent, you can't be 5'7 175 and play MLB)... Bass and Wild weren't missing tackles b/c they're too small, they were missing tackles b/c they were positionally unsound and had sloppy execution... He's not the best in the league... but to answer your question.... yes, I have absolute faith he can lead us to a Grey Cup...
  22. yeah I heard that... it would be Franklin, Lynch and DeMarco if Reilly can't go... This one game alone could get Franklin paid big (if he plays)...
  23. that is good news. I was oping he would play but hadn't heard any updates... Hopefully Reilly will be good to go too...
  24. None of this disproves my argument... I agreed his stats were not as good and admitted he took too many penalties... you're not going to get all-star nods based on QB hurries and O-line holding penalties (which he should have got WAY more called in his favour, some games he was held every play)... my point was simply that his play has not dropped as much as his stats suggest... Also, if Westerman put up the same stats this year, everything else being equal... do you still think he gets nominated for 3 team awards?
  25. Also, this might be the first time since... I can't even really remember... I was confident the offense would step up and get those 4 yards needed... but alas...
