  1. I bet both Dressler and Smith wish they were 5'10...
  2. it's interesting b/c if you look at the dominant o-line from the 80s, Walby was a monster at 6'6 320 ish while the rest of the guys were hovering around 250 lbs... now if I see a scouting report on a o-lineman and he's under 300 my first thought is he needs to put on weight...
  3. that's probably the best way to go about it.... those guys rotate a lot anyways...
  4. you'd still have to make another adjustment for the ratio if this were the case...
  5. I wonder if Andrew Harris has a high ankle sprain... that would explain the uncertainty of his injury status week-to-week...
  6. Pretty nice barn... great for the city, the team and the league... the only downside is we now have to listen to incessant Riderfan nonsense about this being the greatest stadium in football history and how it makes Jerry world look like a dump...
  7. Hamilton has a powerful owner... not saying that definitely played a factor... but it's hard to ignore it...
  8. I wonder if the release of Outlaw means Makale McKay is closer to signing than we think... (BTW I'm just catching up on yesterday's news, so if he has signed already, please disregard)
  9. Overall health was such a major factor in Ottawa's success last year... they suffered basically no significant injuries and just barely snuck by the Collaros-less Ti-cat in the east final... I think most would agree Hamilton was the best team in the East last year...
  10. hard to completely judge a guy after 1 week on the PR... We may not know til next year...
  11. I would suggest these two comments contradict each other... if "letting up" is subconscious then why wouldn't they do the same thing in a playoff game... I don't think the comeback was a result of letting up... maybe after the first Bomber TD they thought no big deal, we still have a big lead... but when the game got close (30-21) the game was for real again and we still drove and scored and stopped them on D...
  12. I didn't really analyse it too closely... it just looked really close to me... maybe once I start watching NFL again it skews my opinion on what is and isn't a catch... I was also just curious if anyone else thought that way too... If I'm the only one then I'll concede to being wrong...
  13. No one has really touched on the fumble return TD... Am I the only one who thinks we may have caught a break on that play?... it sure looked to be in and out of the hands of Charbanneau (I think that was the receiver) very quickly... I thought it may have been an incomplete pass... not complaining, just wondering if anyone else thought that too...
  14. I think it's pretty obvious... if we lose this game... it's clearly Joe Mack's fault!
  15. yeah but you could argue they made through the toughest stretch of the season at 8-3...
  16. You're right, so here it goes... Harris: has been the most consistent player on offense and I basically just defaulted this award to the offense Harris: see above Leggett: he is the clearly the leader of this team on and off the field... he leads the league in INTs and has taken 3 of them back for 6... always around the ball making plays... just a straight up player... Bryant: has been the one consistent rock all year and plays the hardest position... Hardrick has been a nice spark plug and Bond has contributed nicely but Bryant is the leader on the line Medlock: Money Medlock... not much else to say Fogg: is a threat to take one back on every punt return and he's been solid at one of the hardest positions in the secondary... love Loffler too but Fogg has been too good and consistent...
  17. I agree with you @Mike ... but to answer @Rich's question... losing the last six games and getting blown out in the playoffs would make me second guess... that would prove we have the talent but not the coaching... That being said, I have absolute confidence that will not happen... I expect this team to win 3 or 4 more games and be in a fight with BC for 2nd til the end... I legitimately think this team is for real and am looking forward to (desperately hoping for?) sustained success beyond this season...
  18. Well we did beat them on close to ice a couple years ago... you might be on to something...
  19. I would guess Mtl might offer the HC position to entice him to stay... but really, who else is likely to be looking for a new HC next year?
  20. I'm not surprised Popp has stepped down... but I am surprised the replacement is Chaps and not Reed... Also, I am not looking forward to going against Arceneaux, Burnham, Sinkfield on the same team...
  21. MOP - Andrew Harris... honourable mention (might have something to say about it): Weston Dressler and Matt Nichols MOC - Andrew Harris... HM: Jamaal Westerman and Taylor Loffler MODP - Mo Leggett... HM: Ian Wild, Khlil Bass, Taylor Loffler, Kevin Fogg MOL: Stanley Bryant.... HM: Travis Bond, Jamarcus Hardrick MOSTP: Justin Medlock... HM: I guess Kevin Fogg but this one isn't really close MOR: Kevin Fogg... HM: Taylor Loffler
  22. slow first half... took it to them in the second... I wouldn't say they were identical or anything but they had a similar feel....
  23. You're right, probably the wrong term... I just meant that he wasn't talked about much in that line... 2 all-star bookends, Labatte the phenom, the nastiest C in the business... and the other guy..
  24. I think this year we're finally starting to see our scouting network develop... it takes time to establish yourself in the scouting game... hopefully our guys have enough contacts that we will start to uncover some Hufnagel/Barker/Buono-esque gems in the coming years...
