  1. I understand that the rule states that coaches (other than HC) cannot be on the field... but there were mitigating circumstances... how often do you see the entire team and all coaches on the field when a player suffers a serious injury... that being said, I do agree the refs should have removed Porter from that scenario... but ultimately it's on Pacman for using his mouth before his brain, like usual...
  2. A little early to be writing off Waggoner, eh?!?... Some people already forget Henoc Muamba was a STer in year 1, contributing very little on D...
  3. I actually like Bridgemwater as a QB... but I'm just not sure if he's the guy to take you to the next level... he's the kind of guy that will be good enough to get you to the playoffs... but not much more...
  4. Haha yeah that was actually the worst kind of typo... I meant to write "without" Williams... the run game seemed to do ok anyway... an epic implosion from Cincy sure helped them out...
  5. Thanks for the info... sounds like just watching them in order 4, 5, 6, 1, 2, 3 is the best way to go about it...
  6. Might as well come here for some opinions on this... I have never seen a Star Wars movie... no particular reason, just not a huge sci-fi fan... but I recognize that Star Wars is such a major part of society and Western culture... I have been meaning to watch them all for some time now so with the release of the new movie this seems like a good time to get caught up... So what I am looking for opinions on is what is the best way/order to watch them in? I have been told there is something called the "machete order" and I think it goes 4, 5, 2, 6, 3 and just completely ignore episode 1... anyone else have any thoughts on this?
  7. People who think the Texans will get killed or don't deserve to be in have not watched that team defense... yes they are more than just JJ Watt (although Watt alone makes a huge difference)... that being said, I'll still take KC... I expect Andy Reid to out-coach Bill O'Brien Pitt's offense is better than Cincy's D... which is still very good... x-factor will be if Pitt can get the run game going with Williams... if the run struggles they become one-dimensional... but I will take Pitt in this one Seattle should be Minny... cold weather game will come down to defense... Minnesota has a good one... Harrison Smith is a game changer.... but still not as good Seattle Kirk Cousins had been a top 5 qb in the league over the past 7 or 8 weeks... better than Rodgers... however the entire GB offense looks like it's in disarray... I was cringing watching that Sunday nighter last week... b/c of supporting cast and what should be fairly easy game planning, I will take Wash
  8. There's your problem... you can't take this game seriously... every year all the old white guys (aka hockey "traditionalists") are all up in arms about how boring and meaningless the all-star game is... and every year I would love to remind them... the all-star game is not for die-hard, old school fans... it's for kids to see their favourite stars playing in a skills competition and to attract a new audience... if you think of it as anything more than that, you will constantly be setting yourself up to be disappointed...
  9. I heard a laughable conversation that we may have a "goalie controversy" when Pav is back... as far as I'm concerned there is no controversy.... Hellebyuck is the best goalie, no question about it...
  10. I don't really care much about the all-star game... it's an extended skills competition... the format and player selection doesn't really change my interest... although I do like the 3-on-3 idea.... makes it exciting and trying to bring in some new fans... but someone really needs to step in a put and end to this Jon Scott joke...
  11. OK, let's take a shot... 1. Bo Levi Mitchell - young and great 2. Zach Collaros - see above 3. Mike Reilly - a winner and leader 4. Rick Ray - I think he's too old to be called Ricky 5. Drew Willy - wishful thinking 6. Trevor Harris - hard to say 7. John Jennings - seems to have potential 8. Hank Burris - would be higher if he wasn't 87 years old 9. Kevin Glenn - can still play 10. Drew Tate - good QB, seems to enjoy being a back up 11. Rakeem Cato - still a huge question mark but his pure skills are undeniable 12. Travis Lulay - may have some left in the tank 13. Matt Nichols - good insurance policy 14. Jeremiah Masoli - seemed to be the only Ham back up that made some plays 15. Brett Smith - potential 16-35. I don't know enough about everyone else on this list to rank them 36. Brian Brohm - easiest ranking of all
  12. Jeff Garcia fired by St Louis (Los Angeles) Rams... curious if he would make a return to CFL coaching if no NFL team is interested...
  13. The biggest question I have after this signing... why is Brohm still on the roster???
  14. Harris has publicly stated he wants to be the highest paid QB in the CFL... now that may be unrealistic for him but if you think he's gonna take an incentive-laden contract to back up somewhere, you're mistaken... I would suspect he might look to sign somewhere like Mtl, where they have no clear starter... BC might even be an option if they are not ready to hand the keys to Jennings... I'm actually surprised Toronto chose to sign Ray over Harris... I thought they might be ready to move forward with him...
  15. Miller = business responsibilities... Walters = football operations... unfortunately the two are too closely related to ignore the fact the one impacts the other... by association, Miller has not done well...
  16. good insurance...
  17. It's pretty sad that just making the playoffs is considered a bold prediction... but that's the state we're in...
  18. I think you're pretty much in the best place for that...
  19. Ideally we draft someone at 9 or 10 good enough to be the sixth man... then we will probably take a prospect later in the draft (assuming one worthy of drafting is available).... then if we can sign a fa good enough to start or at least be the sixth man we would be in a favorable position...
  20. What's the saying?.... Those who can't play, coach... something like that...
  21. I'm not sure what his status is with GB... but I know he has too much talent to not get a few more looks in the NFL before it's all over...
  22. I wonder how many people in attendance at a bomber game can actually name both the OC and DC...
  23. I was just about to ask how to like and quote posts... then I realized I wasn't signed in... looks great, thanks @Rich and admins for all the extra work put in...
  24. The situation alone is evidence. He didn't just decide to quit and coincidentally get scooped up by Edmonton as finders keepers. I haven't really been following the story on Thorpe and I am not 100% sure on the "Tampering Rules". But if Thorpe talks to Edmonton about a job then quits and joins them is that still tampering? Or is it only tampering if Edmonton goes to Thorpe without asking permission. I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure even if Thorpe contacts Edm about a job... their only response should be "sorry we can't speak to someone under contract about that"...
  25. I don't think this is as big of a deal as it once was. It is when you start 8 nationals when only 4 are capable of starting. Name me a CFL team that has 8 (or even 7) NIs that are legitimate starters...
