  1. Again... not one single person said that... 7-11 or 8-10 is close to .500... 9-9 is exactly .500 ...10-8 or better is over .500... I think that's universally accepted terminology... So you're saying if the team goes 11-7 next year... gets 2nd in the west... maybe makes it to the west finals... that's not good enough for you?
  2. So what record will O'Shea have to achieve next year to earn another contract? 9-9? 10-8? Surely it must be better then .500. Not one single person said "close to .500"... every response before yours said minimum 9-9 or better... I agree we should be looking at 10-8 or 11-7... don't make stuff up to ridicule every poster on this forum...
  3. This one is the most intriguing one for me... what does he mean by "gets the opportunity"... Does he know that Brady will be let go at season's end?... what's wrong with his current opportunity? Let's hope those "in the know" actually know what they're talking about...
  4. .What is a runners physique? Has legs... is capable of moving them...
  5. I have to agree. Jovon is way over rated. I think the fact that he has the name power from years gone by that he got the nod. Other than the Bomber game he was pretty invisible for Ottawa. I look forward to him crashing out and being divisive the way he was with Winnipeg after his award year. After his award he couldn't cover anything and was routinely beaten for bundles of yards. That's exactly it... most of the voters are media guys who will vote for a name over a no-name when they aren't sure...
  6. Also not a great example since BC won the GC that year. In 2004, the Toronto Argos won the Grey Cup over B.C. Printers was MOP but Dickenson got the start. Don't know what I was thinking when I posted 'cause I knew that. Possibly thinking of the 2006 Grey Cup in Winnipeg... BC, lead by DIckensen, beat Mtl...
  7. I would hope the next OC isn't as closed minded about the QB position as you are. I'll give Drew Willy credit for his unbelievable toughness. But he hasn't played enough to prove he is worth $400k. Which is a problem for Winnipeg going forward. It means they have to allow a big percentage of the cap for QB if they want any real competition at the QB position. For example, let's say Harris or Ray is available. One of those guys could easily come in and beat Willy for the job. But they won't be cheap. (Assuming Wpg wants another pocket passer). The point your missing is with the QB market in any football league you have to pay for potential if you think you have a franchise QB... Ham gave Collaros a "max" salary based on potential... same reason Miami and SF we "forced" to pay Tannehill and Kaepernick...
  8. Why would that not be popular?? nobody said he was a horrible person... just a bad OC... based on what I've heard of him, he sounds like a great person...
  9. You kind of contradict yourself here... You're happy Johnny Adams was awarded something that you consider a joke?
  10. do we add it to the total sacks given up this year by the offence? I feel sorry for Marcel, and hope he does well. In his life going forward? Sure.... as a football coach? I'm not sure that's possible...
  11. best post of the season? I'm sceptical of this rumour... not that I don't believe you know a guy... but I don't understand the logic... why would MB stick around if he knew they were training someone else?... why wouldn't the team just fire MB several weeks ago and let Buck and/or Howell give it a whirl right away?
  12. I also noticed that... I imagined a few heads exploding here... but I give Montreal credit... they're decisive and they don't drag anything out... their coaching staff is already complete and they can start to focus on 2016 already...
  13. It was plus 10 2 days ago here, today there's snow on the ground. and EC says +10 for Friday now, too....******' El Nino.... Trusting Environment Canada 4 days in advance...
  14. I want you to be wrong... but unfortunately, I fear this scenario will be exactly correct...
  15. 75% of Ottawa's roster is castoffs, the trick is signing the right ones. In their defense... that's kind of the definition of how to build an expansion team...
  16. I hope more guys like Leggett get a ticket into town... we need more guys like Leggett, Bass and Westerman on this team... also Bruce Johnson was one of the few players who played like he gives a **** against Tor...
  17. It's almost 11:30 now... where is the mass exodus!!!
  18. Wait till MOS brings him back next yearWouldnt it technically be up to Walters to bring back a player??No I would think it is up to the coach who he wants back. You think someone tells Huffer who should play for him? Bad example... Hufnagel is also the GM...
  19. FWIW Durant had 12 catches for 170 yards and 3 TDs this year... Richards 1 catch for 12 yards... which is good for another Winnipeg FIRST DOWN (assuming it wasn't first and 15 or something)... and as far as I can tell Jake Harty did literally nothing this year... Ott lists him on their active roster and depth chart but he accumulated no stats... I guess he was a healthy scratch all year?
  20. A convert returned by the defense in Canadian football is always worth 2 points. To the OP, the returner isn't conceding s point on a PAT. If they really cared about what you are talking about on FG's they'd adopt the Football Canada rule of putting the ball on the 20 if the ball is returned out of the end zone. I didn't realize that was a rule until I saw it in play in the Bisons/UBC game on Saturday... if you saw the score, I didn't watch too much in the second half...
  21. I was kind of hoping the Guelph position with Walters was true... and it would be announced any day now... I think the roster is better off now than it was 2 years ago... we just need the right people to take it to the next step...
  22. You'll never see Mike Kelly here as a coach again... the PR alone would be a nightmare... but the said reality is he was one of the better coaches we've had here since Dave Ritchie...
  23. exactly the problem with this poll...
  24. I disagree... hopefully we've seen the last of this sophomore slump... and see him back to form next year... definitely need to be at TC... I would bring him back to camp, especially considering he'll be much cheaper than what we would have been offering him a year ago. You don't give up on a young Canadian kicker that easily... bring him to camp (with competition) and make him earn the job... if he struggles early then it may be time to cut him loose...
