I think he has the stamina or he wouldn't be playing at this level. I just think he needs the rock more. I could be wrong. I've also heard that he doesn't really have the stamina for 20+ carries a game... that being said, I thought the major reason Dyce immediately dressed Allan again was so that they can split the carries... the 2 combined should easily be able to handle 25+ carries a game...

Lawless: Chill Out, Let Miller & Co Do Their Jobs

The only thing I truly disagree with is his assertion that it takes a professional team 3-5 years to turn it around... that is usually correct but doesn't really apply to the CFL... yes I know it's been mentioned but Hamilton is the perfect example... 2012 they were 6-12 with a decent offense and terrible defense... 2013 they throw money and lure Kent Austin there... in the first year they make it to the cup finals... 2014 they ditch their vet QB for a young guy and make it to Grey Cup again and just barely lose... 2015 probably the best team in the league with the best defense (see comments from 2012)... they turned it around to being competitive right away and were a power house in the third year... we're two years in a still barely competitive... how many people here believe the Bombers will be a power house next year? -
Lawless: Chill Out, Let Miller & Co Do Their Jobs

Holy Christ...you're right!! Why did nobody think of that? Clearly not the trained monkeys running the team right now. "It was the best of times... it was the blurst of times?!!" "You stupid monkey!" -
Leggett can do a lot of things. He's able to show that being closer to the LOS. I liked their 30 fronts with all the backers on the field. Hurl has been playing very well and now taking on more of a role on 2nd downs in recent weeks. Couldn't agree more... I fell like the defence adds another dimension when Simmons is out there too.... Imagine having Bass, Simmons, Muamba and Leggett on the field at once...

Well he was using the smelling salts before kick off I bet riders wished they had traded for Nichols a few weeks ago but it sounds like Glenn is ready to come back I think the smelling salts are a pre game ritual. Sort of like pounding the shoulder pads. On that topic... I've noticed a lot of guys hit shoulder pads instead of helmets in celebration now... and I really like that... nothing makes me cringe more than I guy (especially one with concussion history) getting smacked in the head a bunch of times after making a nice play...

Another major problem in the CFL is D-lines constantly dominating O-lines... was just thinking about that while watching the Pats/Steelers game last night... on one play Big Ben was literally just standing in the pocket for what seemed like 3 or 4 seconds checking his options until he found a guy... and this is an o-line without their pro bowl centre against a good Pats front... until they find a way to even the scales at the LOS... QBs are going to continue to be crushed...

I call BS on this. Doug Brown was a consumate pro always ready to play. You forget he was in the NFL before being an all star here? Check your facts before you make a silly statement. Doug playing in the NFL and being a consummate pro (both facts never disputed in 17's post) have zero to do with the way he responds to coaching... some guys prefer an ass-kicking coach... some prefer a more encouraging one... Doug Brown responded to ass-kicking coaches...

I'd prefer to see Big League Teague start at safety and Simmons start at MLB... but what do I know...

A+ thread gang...

not necessarily... that's about the same size as Wild... Wild is at 220 and I believe he added more weight for the NFL. Fair enough... but that doesn't change the fact that he played WIL successfully for 2 seasons at around 210...

The thought of that happening literally makes me light headed, dizzy and sick to my stomach... I don't know how much more I could handle if Sask makes a quick turn around... I like Walters and O'Shea and I'm willing to give them another year... but if Hufnagel is looking to take the reigns of another team this off-season, I would drop those two in a heartbeat, double their combined salaries and offer it to Huff... The idea mentioned above that he's not ready to give up coaching makes sense... and Calgary is in a fairly safe spot with arguably the best up-and-coming HC and GM in the game right now... Cgy would likely be fine going forward with Dickenson and Murphy taking over...

Edmonton had a lack of good interior Canadian OL but had a few experienced American OL around. Edmonton is probably moving to a 4 NI OL with O'Donnell back in the fold so they can afford to get rid of an American tackle. But more than anything, this trade was Greaves for a second round pick. Capers is just a throw-in. He may never even start a game for us. Exactly this....it's all about us essentially getting into the first round... We're basically guaranteed the 9th overall pick... cuz if it's not the Edm (via Sask) pick then it's probably out own 2nd rounder!

I would argue he's just defending his friends (Greaves/Daniels recently)... though he did make a comment about the players not being a problem... which I agree with to an extent...

Around the CFL Regular Season Discussion

Just thinking the same thing... if this rumour turns out to come true I'm gonna smash my head against a wall!!! -
There's a lot to criticize Kyle Walters about... but to say he doesn't care about winning and won't do anything to improve the team... that's just insane...
-
Nothing wrong with an O-line that goes Int-Int-NI-NI-NI... if that's the best use of the players... Calgary was running that while Federkeil was out...

Agreed. Willie looked great. He showed some flashes of having some big play abilities. I actually noticed Willie looks HUGE out there... I was surprised he's only listed at 6'2 220... I woulda guessed 6'5 235...

Jones and Heenan won't be back in the CFL until they truly exhaust all NFL options... both were looking good to make their respective teams before getting injured... they'll take this year to train and try to get another crack this season or next... I know the Colts have said they would be willing to give Heenan another shot once he is healthy...

Hopefully they mean the "too short" list. I spent a lot of time on that list when I tried out for basketball. Unfortunately Muamba is the perfect size to play MLB in the NFL... the too "slow list" might be our only chance...
-
As someone else mentioned... timing and availability are such critical factors... there is no one like Hufnagel, Bauno, Barker, or Austin available right now to just snag up and hire, whether we spend the money or not... if there was someone who became available, I would would be fully in favour of dumping everyone today to hire that person but I can't think of who that might be... Mike Riley had a rough first game at Nebraska

John Harbaugh...

He played it in Calgary so I wouldn't really classify it as a "foreign position".... but a huge loss nevertheless...

Do you know if Longo is playing LG or he is at RT with Neufeld over to LG?
