  1. even with the QBs he had throwing him the ball... he was on pace to reach 1000 yards in 15 games... He can still play... he's no Lawler, but this signing helps ease the pain a bit.
  2. We've still got the best O-line/D-line in the league... top 3 run game and top 3 QB with a solid group of receivers... LBs should be fine with Bighill/Wilson leading the way... A couple ??s in the secondary... but still a contending team... Losing guys like Stove, Lawler, Darby and Harris is extremely disappointing but I trust out scouts to find adequate replacements.
  3. Remember a few years ago when Rider fans were insisting that Jones was just "resetting" the market and doing the league a favour... rather than just lowballing players...
  4. What’s the official time line now?… tampering period is over… when does the official FA period open?
  5. As much as I’d love to agree with you… this board has written off the riders the last two seasons and they proceeded to be 1st and 2nd in the west… of course they got knocked out by the bombers both years… but were still productive in the regular season
  6. I would’ve really liked that deal for us if we’re going to lose Lawler…
  7. More like a spit in the face to the team that apparently offered 300… I can just imagine the circle jerk going on at RF whilst discussing Duke leaving 40k on the table… to play for the greatest franchise in professional sports history 🤣
  8. At this point, it's huge... you can't sign a guy that can only play 9 games... I can't imagine anyone that's unvaxxed would get signed unless there is a change in the travel restrictions prior to June.
  9. The owner is the one who signs the cheques... he could go to the GM and say "buy us a better team at whatever cost"... owner, theoretically, has final say in everything
  10. These signing that are being announced... are they official yet or just negotiated? (Other than the re-signings)
  11. Well there's a couple factors to consider (if we want to overanalyze this online poll just for fun)... which play was more impactful: The Nichols knock down ensures we stay in the game and gives us a shot at OT.... The Int, if it doesn't happen, we probably stop them on 3rd and 18 anyways and still win... point for Nichols which play was more impressive: Nichols was in the right place with sound coverage and just needed to make the obvious play... the way Rose intentionally scooped the ball up towards Wilson might be one of the most impressive plays of all time... point for the Int. But I think I agree with @Jpan85... hat tip to Nichols
  12. If we're talking coffee... this is already my regular routine... so might as well see the Bombers do it with championships too
  13. Funny I remember saying at some point during last season... I'm surprised they don't have a goal line package that include Willie.
  14. fair enough... either way, a FA off the street filled in admirably while Rempel was hurt.
  15. True, it is a specialized skill but I'd be shocked if one or more of our Canadian LBs don't already have the skill that could just use some honing/coaching... Rempel missed 4 or 5 games in 2019 and no one noticed while Thomas Miles took over... I would expect Benson back and it shouldn't be an unreasonable salary.
  16. Well in his defense, Mullinder was on the 2007 team that won the Grey Cup... so he has experienced some success.
  17. He wants a 3-peat... not a playoff loss to the Bombers!
  18. MVP of the 2019 west final!
  19. I think there's a point to be made about the Nickelodeon game played yesterday... I watched the last quarter and a half.... the game itself was not that interesting (though it did come down to the wire) but everything about the production of the game was entertaining as hell... the broadcast crew was young and exciting - Noah Eagle on PBP (never heard of him but he was good and I'm going to assume he's Ian's son) and Nate Burleson on colour (a young smart guy who knows how to relate to kids)... but the interesting part was having this young girl who is apparently a Nick star.... she knew nothing about football but was very enthusiastic and surprisingly added a lot to the broadcast... had another young kid on the side lines (he couldn't have been older than 10), who was also enthusiastic and entertaining... Obviously, I'm not saying the CFL should do a broadcast like this... but I genuinely believe more young people are going to watch a game with that kind of broadcast... the CFL/TSN (or whoever their broadcast partner will be in the future) needs to find a way to make the broadcast more entertaining
  20. the circumstances were obviously different but this play reminds me a bit of the Mike Jones on Mike Jones play from the 2019 GC... the broadcast kept saying how if Ham Jones didn't "drop the ball" it could've been a game changer... except that he didn't drop the ball... Wpg Jones knocked the ball away
  21. yeah I know the circumstances... I was making reference to the fact that his declined test (which is the proper thing to call it, not "couldn't pee") is considered equivalent to a failed test
  22. Sorry I don't have the specific link but I remember reading somewhere that it was considered a failed test... maybe I'm mistaken
  23. I agree that he can be replaced... but Stove is a special player... the middle of our D-line changed dramatically when he returned from injury... after 2019 we knew Stove was in house and ready to replace Nevis... I'm not sure (yet) if Sayles or Walker are at that level... I also agree that it's possible a team opens up their wallet for him and Walters can't (or won't) match
  24. When you test positive once (which is the equivalent to his declined test) then you get tested more... so it is believable that he has passed several times since... otherwise he would've been suspended again
  25. well isn't that convenient.... he's in Texas during 2 months of -30... only to return once the weather starts to turn 😂
