  1. Wasn't he the HC at Oregon State for like 20 years?
  2. It's because these players are leaving mid-game and they're wearing the uniform of the team that's getting shellacked by Springfield... so they're getting on the Bombers bus to try their luck in the CFL... little do they know, these chumps wouldn't even be good enough for TCF on this squad! 😂
  3. I'm not sure what his definition of "big time" is (a large clock, perhaps)... but that TD strike to Adams in Grey Cup OT was pretty "big time" IMO
  4. The funny thing about this... is it's such a stretch for most of these players to say they were "grown" in they backyard... Jefferson: played some good ball for Sask but was "grown" in Edmonton... Collaros: played what, like 10 games for the Riders?... he was clearly grown in Toronto and Hamilton... Bryant: never played a down with them... too easy... Richie Hall: sure they can have that one... but I don't think Hall would be the difference in turning that sad sack of DBs into the elite unit we have had... Neufeld: In Sask he was a young up and comer... he clearly grew here... Hardrick: couldn't find a role in Sask or BC... again, clearly grown in Winnipeg... Antigha: barely had any impact on this team... still would've won without him... Saying these players/coach would've made the Riders back to back champs... is laughable at best... completely absurd in reality... but I guess their former players winning on other teams is the only way the Riders are going to celebrate any championships in the near future. 😂
  5. Before one of our games against the Elks this year I commented that they have a pretty solid roster... their biggest weaknesses were O-line and LB... I wouldn't be surprised if the Elks turn it around next year and are a playoff team... the bigger question is: will they have any sustained success?... With Chris Jones at the helm, my guess is no
  6. Well if you ask TSN and Rider fans, Fajardo is clutch and all he does is win... they conveniently leave out the "except in games that matter" part
  7. Well he did drive the whole field... the "almost" part can be credited to a great play by Nichols... nevertheless, the other guys and their traits mentioned in the post were objectively bad... I'll give Masoli some credit for a good game in the GC (but only b/c he lost in the end)
  8. Masoli almost drove the entire field for a Grey Cup winning TD against the best defense the league has seen in years and into heavy winds... I wouldn't lump the "Masoli clutch factor" with those other guys.
  9. Good for Edmonton... they deserve it...
  10. This is what I always dreamed of when we were in the middle of the long drought... to find a GM and HC that would turn this team around and stay for the long haul... you never know what the future holds but I could see the Miller/Walters/Osh combo here in Winnipeg for a very long time!
  11. I feel bad for Steinhauer... that would've been a dream job for him... but this is great news for the cats and the CFL... we want good people/coaches like this in our league I believe that origin of that joke was former Patriots running back BenJarvus Green-Ellis... his nickname was "The Lawfirm" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BenJarvus_Green-Ellis
  12. Their little conversation is pretty obvious on the broadcast... the camera zooms right in on it... but I never noticed how much effect it had on the play... this team does everything great
  13. No chance TNSE touches Quenneville with a 50 ft pole... you're right, he's probably the best free agent coach out there... but I'd be willing to bet he's already coached his last ever NHL game... A name I heard that I like is Lane Lambert... if we can't get Trotz, why not get his right hand man
  14. in fairness we did get Edmonton three times last year...
  15. Dane is ready and willing to start now... no chance he comes here to be a back up... that said, if Zach has an unexpected retirement... I'd have no problem with Dane as the next guy
  16. It's close to Christmas... I'm sure some guys wanted to get home ASAP... I wouldn't read too much into it
  17. Again... it's not a prediction... it's a list of some of the guys that could move on and the reason I believe they could move one... in others words, I think we lose 2 or 3 of these guys... and I've added the reason why I think we would.
  18. Sorry... I wasn't clear there... I thought it was you that called out the guy who made all the ridiculous claims... you are certainly not the guy who made the ridiculous claims Are we good now? 😁
  19. Here are some players I think we could lose and why I believe that is so... and I'm not saying we will lose any or all of these guys... just some thoughts for discussion: Alford: NFL shot Taylor: retirement or team moves on Briggs: retirement Kongbo: NFL shot or big CFL contract Jeffcoat: big CFL contract (I'm talking like 50k more than we're offering) Thomas: retirement Desjarlais: NFL shot Bryant: retirement (though my thoughts on that have since changed and I expect him back in 2022) Neufeld: retirement Collaros: retirement (I don't think this will happen but others have made a compelling case) Harris: retirement (I'm expecting him back for one more go in 2022) Adams: retirement Bailey: possible another team opens up the vault to make him their #1 guy best case scenario... I'm wrong about all of these
  20. what was the original "mistake" title?
  21. Some of the people I always got a kick out of were the ones who were completely full of **** but act like they were the absolute authority on everything... There was Tuscaloosa Blue a few years ago with the fake training camp reports... and then recently (I'm already forgetting his screen name - Thanks for reminding me it was Polar Bear) the guy Polar Bear who was an expert on covid, broadcasting, and regularly partied with the Bombers since he was Harris' neighbour... what a clown he was... my favourite post was when (I believe it was) @blue_gold_84 made a list of all the things Polar Bear claimed to be an expert on in the 2 weeks he posted here... I know these people are toxic for conversation and misrepresenting facts... but I always find their schtick funny Anyways, thanks to all of you guys here... when I talk to my family and friends I pretend like I'm some kind of expert on the Bombers b/c of the great knowledge and experience I read here... too many to list but guys like @Booch, @wbbfan, @Mikeand @SpeedFlex27 are so great for conversation and knowledge about the team we all love. Thanks guys!
  22. I remembering feeling that way too... but I think 2013 was such a CF (that would be cluster-**** not Cody Fajardo - though they have been one in the same at times) that I just went to the games to see how terrible we could be thinking it couldn't possibly get worse... My "low point" came a few years later and luckily for me, the turn around happened almost immediately... I was at a game early in the 2016 season and we were getting crushed by Calgary... after this loss we would fall to 1-4... I said to my friend during that game "if this carries on, I don't know how much more I can take... I could definitely see that things seemed to be getting better but the on-field product wasn't getting any better... as luck would have it, the next game on the road against Edmonton was when we inserted Travis Bond on the O-line and Matt Nichols at QB... and since that game... it's been basically better than I could have imagined... Think about the make up of this team a little bit... When Zach and Nic were named the MOPs of the Grey Cup... each guy immediately said "I love my team, this is the greatest group of guys I've ever been with" while basically welling up... they didn't even care about the award, they just wanted to be with their teammates.... Another small detail I noticed about the comradery of this team... there's a great slo-mo shot of the team celebrating after the grey cup winning int... and you see two players embracing and jumping up and down together... I looked closely and noticed it was Casey Sayles and Mike Benson... on what other team and in what other Bombers era would the long snapper and a defensive lineman be so close in friendship like that... it is truly incredible to see... when these guys say they love each other and play for each other... there's no lip service... it's as genuine as it gets.
  23. It took about 2.5 years to fix the Bombers O-line... it can be a long process.
  24. in the 2019 off-season our biggest losses were Sayles and Rose... they were "supposed" to be nearly impossible to replace... and we possibly improved at that spot... needles to say, there is no doubt we will lose 1 or 2 or 3 important players... but I have full confidence in Walters to replace them in-house or through recruiting.
  25. Both of these things can be true...
